Installing aaddlink SSD is easy and makes your
computer significantly faster!
Before the installation process, please review the warranty policy and
instructions provided by your NAS system to ensure you follow proper
procedures to install your storage device.
Safety Instructions
To prevent your SSD from damage by static electricity, before installation,
please touch an unpainted metal surface on your computer or NASs’ frame or
wear an ESD wrist strip.
Use care in handling the SSD. Do not touch the connectors.

Required Tools and Prepare:
1. Gather supplies
Gather these materials and tools: addNAS SSD, A screwdriver, NAS system,
your NAS’s owner’s manual
2. Back up important files
Before performing any hardware installation, back up your existing data

Intstall Drives
To Install SATA SSD Drives
1. Power off the NAS.
2. Disconnect all cables from your NAS to prevent possible damage.
3. Pull the handle to release the tray.
4. Place the SSD in the area of drive tray indicated
by you NAS manual instruction.
5. Tighten the screws to secure the SSD in place.
Most of the NAS drive bay can install both 2.5” or 3.5” Storage Drive.

6. Load the tray into the drive bay.
7. Connect LAN cable and power adapter.
8. Power on your NAS to verify a successful installation.
Note: If you plan to create a RAID volume, install identical drives of the same
model and capacity when creating a disk array.

To install an M.2 SSD module
1. Power off the NAS.
2. Disconnect all cables from your NAS to prevent possible damage.
3. Open the case or M.2 slot cover according to the instructions in your
NAS’s owner’s manual
4. Find the M.2 SSD slots location of your NAS.
5. Insert your M.2 SSD into the M.2 Socket and make sure that the module is
properly inserted.
Note: Hold the M.2 SSD module by its edge and avoid touching the
connectors.
6. Connect LAN cable and power adapter.
7. Power on your NAS to verify a successful installation.

To remove the M.2 SSD module
1. Shut down your NAS system.
2. Disconnect all cables from your NAS to prevent possible damage.
3. To avoid potential injury, ensure that the SSD and other NAS internal
system components have cooled before touching them.
4. Hold the SSD module and remove it from the slot.
5. Reconnect the LAN cable & power adapter and power on the system.
Note:
For the NAS SSD Cache type, it will have read only, write only, & read-write
type mode.
Read only: ≥ 1 x SSD.
When you set only one M.2 SSD as the read-only cache, only frequently
accessed data is stored in the cache to accelerate random read speeds.
Read-write : ≥ 2 x SSDs
set 2x M.2 SSD as SSD cache for both read and write caching, accelerating
both read and write speeds.
It is better to have the same type and capacity for NAS cache SSD.
