DESCRIPTION
The 424RG Optical Network Terminal (ONT) Fiber Tray and Wall Mount
Bracket (Fiber Tray and Bracket) is used to mount the ADTRAN 424RG
2 POTS/4 GigE Dual Band WiFi ONT (P/N 1287781F2) to a wall.
The wall mount bracket also incorporates a fiber tray to store excess
incoming fiber should that be required.
Required Tools
The following tools are required when installing the Fiber Tray and
Bracket.
■Power Drill (optional)
■Carpenter’s Level (optional)
■Phillips-head Screwdriver
■Hammer
Installation Steps
To install the Fiber Tray and Bracket, complete the following steps:
1. Select Location and Mount Bracket
2. Attach Incoming Fiber Cable to Fiber Tray and Bracket
3. Connect Incoming Fiber Cable to ONT
4. Attach ONT to Fiber Tray and Bracket
Step 1: Select Location and Mount Bracket
Select a location to mount the Fiber Tray and Bracket near the fiber
entrance. Use the supplied hardware to mount the bracket to the wall as
follows:
gNOTE
Supplied hardware is intended for drywall mounting only. For mounting on
surfaces other than drywall, obtain the appropriate mounting hardware
and follow the provided instructions.
1. Refer to Figure 1 and mark hole locations using the Fiber Tray and
Bracket as a template. Use a carpenter’s level to ensure the bracket
is level.
2. Start anchor into the wall by using a hammer to lightly tap the
anchor in until the threads are close to the wall.
gNOTE
Pre-drill holes using a 1/4” drill bit if difficulty is encountered.
3. Insert either a No. 2 or No. 3 Phillips driver bit into the recess of the
anchor head.
4. Using gentle forward pressure, rotate the wall anchor clockwise until
the collar is flush with the wall.
5. Align theFiber Tray and Bracket with the holes, insert and tighten #6
screws until fixture is tight to the wall.

Step 2. Attach Incoming Fiber to ONT Fiber Tray and
Mounting Bracket
Refer to Figure 2 and wrap any excess incoming fiber around the Fiber
Tray and Bracket.
fCAUTION!
Do not exceed a minimum bend radius of 2-inches when installing fiber
cabling.

Once all cables have been connected, refer to the LED table below to
ensure the ONT is operating properly.

Step 3. Connect Incoming Fiber Cable to ONT
Refer to Figure 3 and connect the Fiber Cable to the Fiber Connector on
the bottom of the ONT.

Step 4. Attach ONT to ONT Fiber Tray and Bracket
1. Refer to Figure 4 and position the ONT as shown. Align the two
mounting tabs on the bottom of the ONT with the two slots on the
Wall Mount Bracket.
2. Gently push the ONT towards the Wall Mounting Bracket until the
ONT snaps onto the bracket.
