1.1 General Information
1.1.1 Purpose of the manual
This manual describes the use of AIREL-QUETIN PACIFIC dentistry equipment in its different
versions: NEO, EVO, CHIR, ORTHO.
• Read this manual carefully before using the PACIFIC equipment. It has been written
to allow you to use your equipment in the best conditions.
• The numerical values given in this manual and displayed as an example should not
be considered as recommended values, except when specified in the text.
• The figures are intended to illustrate the different functions of the PACIFIC. They are
not binding. They do not claim to represent all the equipment variants.
1.1.2 À About PACIFIC equipment
The PACIFIC equipment is a dental chair allowing the operator to detect and treat dental
problems and/or carry out preventive actions.
It must be used by dental professionals. The operator (practitioner) must have a degree in dental
surgery.
Patient population: from 4 years old.
1.2 Classification/Regulations

EEC Directive 93/42 Class IIa medical device
(2195 - EC marking)
Standard IEC 60950-1 / 60417-
5019 Class I Electrical Protection. Functional insulation
with an earth terminal.
Standard IEC 60601-1 Type B
Standard IEC 60529 Protection against water spray IPX1
Standard EN 60601-1-2 The product does not cause electromagnetic
interference which may affect other devices. It
demonstrates appropriate immunity in the presence
of electromagnetic interference.
Standard IEC 80601-2-60 Special requirements for basic safety and essential
performance of dental equipment

8
1.3 Safety instructions
To avoid all risks of electrical shock, it is imperative that the device is connected to an electrical
supply network equipped with an earth.
Any electrical work on the device must be carried out by our after-sales department or by
qualified personnel.
AIREL-QUETIN provides this staff with any technical information needed for troubleshooting.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
- Do not use in the presence of an inflammable anaesthetic mixture.
- The connection of the fluids must comply with the regulations in force.
ISO 7494-2 Standard for dentistry - Dental units - Part 2: Water and air supply.
- Intermittent service.
- Turn off the PE8 unit every night after use.
- Applied parts: Saddlery, casing (protective cover)
- This device is intended for use by professionals only.
- Any modification of the EM device is prohibited.
- According to the requirements of standard NF EN 60601-1, the device may cause radio
interference and / or disturb the operation of a device located nearby. The use of accessories,
transducers and cables other than those specified, with the exception of equipment sold by the
manufacturer as a replacement for internal components, may result in increased emissions or
decreased immunity. of the device.
- The device must not be used alongside other devices or stacked with them.
If this condition can not be met, test the correct operation in this configuration.
- Portable and mobile RF communications devices must not be used within 30cm of the device.
Otherwise, degradation of the performance of the equipment could be felt.
WARNING ON NOISEY FROM SUCTION TUBE
The existing magnet inside of the suction flexible may interfere with pacemakers and ICD.
Therefore the practitioner shall ensure that the suction tube remains at opposite side of the
area of the device to avoid any risk during curing.
Down below are all the precautions of use :
• Ensure that the magnetic bit of the suction tube remains away from the pacemaker
• In case of audible signal coming from the pacemaker, please move promptly the
magnetic bit of the suction tube until the audible signal stops. The potential risk is so avoided.

All our devices are manufactured with the utmost care and are tested according to the ISO
7494-1 standard before being delivered to our customers.
Any new PACIFIC appliance is guaranteed against any defective parts for 2 years from the day of
delivery.
The relative information and specific to each device are listed on the serial label next to the
ignition button.
The guarantee includes the exchange or repair of the defective part, according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
The instruments (turbine, micromotor, plaque remover, scalpel, curing light, etc...) are subject
to special guarantee conditions (guarantee period and conditions of use) which are those of the
respective manufacturers.
Operation is only guaranteed for instruments provided by AIREL-QUETIN or for compatible
instruments.

9
The guarantee does not extend to light bulbs, glassware, coals, heat cartridges, capacitors,
fuses, customer-supplied parts, or any part subject to normal wear during the guarantee period.

1.5 IGN®-Calbénium® protocol
The PACIFIC dental unit incorporates an IGN® hygiene system for spray water treatment
according to EEC directive 93/42 - Class IIb medical equipment.
An IGN®protocol ensuring the traceability and the conformity of operation according to standard
NF EN 1717 has been implemented in order to reach the "Zero permanent germ" objective.
The operations of this protocol are detailed in chap 4, page 58 with a maintenance guide.
IGN® and CALBENIUM® are a fundamental pairing for the hygiene of your PACIFIC unit:
- No product other than CALBENIUM® should be used in the IGN® system. A study has been
carried out on CALBENIUM® to ensure that it is compatible with all dental units and does not
cause any damage to internal components.
- The use of inappropriate products may result in oxidation of the components and
devulcanization of the conducting membranes. If such defects are noted, AIREL-QUETIN
reserves the right to remove the registration of use related to the IGN® protocol.
