I –Package Contents
Take all items out of the box and unpack them. Verify that you have
all the items listed above and that they all appear to be in good
condition. Please contact us if any item is missing or appears
damaged.

1) Product Overview

Please note that, contrary to the bottom cover, the top cover cannot
be removed. Be careful not to drop anything in the air outlet of the top
cover. If any object falls into the air outlet, turn off the unit and
remove object. You may turn the unit upside down if necessary.

2) Using the main unit without the remote

Start by plugging the main unit into an electrical outlet. The unit will
emit a single beep and the power button will turn red. This means
that the unit is plugged in and on stand-by.
Power button
To turn the unit on, press the power button (1-2 seconds). The unit
will emit a single beep and the power button will turn green. This
means the unit is on and set on speed 1.
Speed control
To increase the speed, simply press the power button. Every press
will increase the speed by one increment. Once speed 4 is reached,
every press will decrease the speed by one increment. Refer to
Figure 3 below

Automatic mode
When in automatic mode, the main unit automatically adjust its speed
depending on the indoor particle pollution (PM2.5) level. Note that the
unit will not automatically turn on or off. However, this can be
programmed using the Tuya Smart app, see section II.4.
With the main unit on, press the button to turn the automatic
mode on/off.

Note: If you manually change the speed on the Remote Control
Display or on the main unit while the Automatic mode is on, this will
turn the Automatic mode off
Night mode
Sleep mode is a mode where the main unit is particularly quiet and
the lights are dimmed. It is meant to be used at night, when you sleep
or at any other time that you want a more discrete mode of operation.
With the main unit on, press the button to turn the Sleep mode
on/off. In Sleep mode, the main unit will run extremely quietly and the
air quality indicator bar will turn off.
UV lamp
With the main unit on, press the button to turn on/off the UV
function.
Note that, when the UV function is OFF, the photocatalysis function is
also off.
Negative Ion function
This function can be activated/deactivated by long pressing (3
second) the button.

2.1) Main unit display screen
Connectivity: This symbol will appear permanently on the screen
once the pairing between the unit and the mobile app is complete.
During initial pairing, this symbol will flash for 3 minutes (while the
app scans for the device).
Negative ion functions:This symbol appears on the screen
when the negative ion function (ionization) is activated
UV function: This symbol appears on the screen when the UV
and photocatalysis functions are activated.
Filter change indicator: This symbol appears on the screen
when it is time to change the filter. To make it disappear, see
instructions on how to change the filter in section V.4.
Speed level: the number of dots corresponds to the level of speed.
Automatic mode: This symbol appears on the screen when
automatic mode is activated.

Pollution level: This corresponds to the PM2.5 fine particle
level, measured in μg/m3.
PM stands for “Particulate Matter” and corresponds to fine particle
pollution, a mix of solid particles and liquid droplets present in the air.
Some particles are large enough to be visible with the naked eye,
such as dust or smoke. But many particles are much smaller than
that. PM2.5 corresponds to fine inhalable particles with a diameter of
2.5 micrometres and smaller. That’s 30 times smaller than the
average human hair!
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that PM2.5 do
not exceed 10 μg/m3 annual mean, or 25 μg/m3 24-hour mean.
Below are the colours and grades corresponding to each data range:

3) Using the main unit with the remote
Before first use, open the battery compartment at the back of the
remote control and remove the round plastic film on the battery.
Once done, the remote will be operational. To control the air purifier,
please point the remote towards the display screen of the unit.

When the display is turned off via this function and any button is
pressed, the display will temporarily turn on again for 10 seconds.

4) Using the main unit with the Tuya Smart mobile app
4.1) Download the app
The Tuya Smart app can be downloaded from the Play Store on
Android or the App Store on iOS.

4.2) Connect to the unit
Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and both GPS and
Bluetooth are turned on (to help the app scan for the unit). Open the
Tuya Smart app. You can either create an account or select the “Try
Now” option.
Use the “Scan” function to scan the QR code of the ORIGIN 40 which
is located on the label on the back of the device as well as below.
