PTR2000 and PTR2300 are microcontroller digital potentiometers, which can par-
tialise an input voltage (from –10,00V to + 10,00V) in 1000 maximum values that can
be set from 000 to 999.
The position of the potentiometer can be set using either the “+” and “-” buttons
on the front panel, or the two remote inputs in the terminal block, terminals 8 and 9.
The voltage to be partialised can be provided by the user on terminal 4, or it can
be a -10,00V or +10,00V voltage generated by the potentiometer itself.
Only with the PTR2300 version it is possible to program 7 position values,
which can be retrieved using the 3 BCD inputs, terminals 10, 11 and 12.

PROGRAMMABLE FEATURES

PTR2000/2300
3
In order to access the programming
mode, use the two buttons on the frontal
panel.
If the Access Code Setup (PAR02) is
different from “000” you need to enter the
Access Code first (PAR02) and then go on.
PARAMETERS PROGRAMMING
Press the “+” and “-” buttons at the same time: “000” will be displayed. Enter the
code “739” to access the parameters programming. Press the “+” button to raise the
flashing number. Press the “-” button to pass on to the following number. After you set
up the last number, confirm by pressing “-” and “P00” (which indicates the parameter
number) will be displayed alternating with 3 numbers, which indicate its value.
How to modify the parameter number to be programmed. When the para-
meter number is displayed (P00, P01, P02, ecc...), press “+” to pass on to the follo-
wing parameter or press “-” to go back to the preceding one.
How to modify the parameter value to be programmed. When the parameter
value is displayed (000, 999, 123, ecc…), press “+” to start programming. The first
number on the left will start flashing and by pressing the “+” button it will be possible
to raise this number until it reaches the desired value. At this point press “-” to pass on
to the following number and repeat the procedure. After you set up the last number,
confirm by pressing “-” and the parameter number alternating with its value will be di-
splayed.
How to exit programming mode. When the parameter number is displayed
(P00, P01, P02, ecc...), press “+” and then press “-” without releasing “+”.
N.B.: in case of indecipherable data in the parameters, it will be necessary to set
up the default data.
DEFAULT DATA SETUP
1. Switch off the potentiometer.
2. Press and keep pressed the “+” and “-” buttons.
3. Power the potentiometer.
4. The text “dEf” will be displayed.
5. Release buttons.
6. The potentiometer restarts from the “123” position.
7. Program the parameters as needed and replace the default data automatically set
by this procedure.

HOW TO USE THE POTENTIOMETER WITHOUT THE ACCESS CODE
If the parameter “P02” (Access Code Setup) is set up with the code “000”, the
programming of the potentiometer will be available for anyone. By pressing “+” the
position will increase, by pressing “-” the position will decrease.
After 5 sec. from the last time the “+” or “-” bottons were pressed, the display will
flash 3 times to indicate that the programmed value was memorized.
The storage of the programmed position is necessary for the device to recover this
value after it was turned off and then turned on again.
HOW TO USE THE POTENTIOMETER WITH THE ACCESS CODE
If the parameter “P02” (Access Code Setup) is set up with any code different
from“000”, the programming with the “+” and “-” buttons and the parameters setting
will be blocked until the access code storaged in “P02” will be entered.
In order to enter the access code, do as follows:
Press “+” or “-”: the code “000” will be displayed. Press “+” to increase the fla-
shing number. Press “-” to pass on to the following number. After the last number,
confirm by pressing “-” and the position of the potentiometer will be displayed again.
If the entered code corresponds to the one storaged in “P02”, it will be possible to
change the position of the potentiometer or proceed to the parameters programming
using the “+” and “-” buttons.
After 5 sec. from the last time the “+” or “-” bottons were pressed, the display will
flash 3 times to indicate that the programmed value was memorized and the access to
the setting and programming is now blocked.
The storage of the programmed position is necessary for the device to recover this
value after it was turned off and then turned on again.
