STYLE 3600 WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL
INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The following is intended to provide the basic instructions for installation and operation of the Wireless Remote Control
(WRC), and to assist in attaining the best possible performance from the unit. Read and understand these operating
instructions before use.

WARNING: Although the enclosures for the controller and receiver are water-resistant, it is important to keep water
out of the enclosure. Prolonged exposure to water will cause damage. When the cover of the enclosure
is removed, make sure the O-ring under the cover is intact and free of dirt and debris.
WARNING: Do not use the WRC when the override cranks are being used or are in position for use.
WARNING: Replacetheidenticationtagsiftheyshouldbecomewornordamaged.

Belowarethemountingholedimensionsforthereceiver.Mountthereceivertoallowenoughcableforproper
installationtotheLogicBox(SeeElectricalLayout).Thereceiverwillcomewitha10ft.cable.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION OF RECEIVER
The following is the wiring chart for the Receiver to the Logic Box. These color-coded wires should be wired into the
inputsideoftheLogicBox(TB1).The+V(power)and-V(ground)canbewiredintoTB2.
*TheAuxbuttoncanbeusedforStow,DeployorOscillationifavailableonthemonitor.Wirethewhite/redwireintothe
correspondingterminalrequestedbycustomerfortheappropriatefunction.Seemonitoroperatinginstructions(orLogic
BoxLid)forwiringdiagramandterminallocation.**RunjumperwirefromTB3#7toTB3#3tohavetheAuxLEDonthe
handheld controller indicate if the monitor is stowed or deployed.

SYNCHRONIZE HANDHELD CONTROLLER WITH RECEIVER
•Beforeinitialoperationcanoccur,theHandheldControllermustbesynchronizedwiththeReceiver.
This allows proper communication between the two and ensures that the handheld Controller will only
controltheoperationofoneReceiver.Synchronizationisperformedonlyoncewhenthesystemisput
intooperationforthersttimeorifitbecomesdesirabletosynchronizetheHandheldControllerwitha
differentReceiver.AnunsynchronizedHandheldwillashallLED’sinunisonwhenitisturnedon.This
willcontinueforapproximately20secondsatwhichtimetheunitwillpowerdown.NewHandheld
controllersareshippedunsynchronized.

1. MakesureonlytheintendedReceivermoduleispoweredon.IfmultipleReceiversarepowered,the
HandheldunitwillsynchronizewiththeReceiverwhichreturnsthestrongestsignal.Normallythisisthe
ReceiverandanyshieldingorreectivematerialmayoccasionallycausenearbyReceivertoreturna
weak signal.
2. StartingasynchronizeprocedurecanonlybedoneatpowerupwiththeHandheldunit.TheHandheld
unitcannotbemadetorequestasynchronizationonceithasstarteditsnormaloperation.
3. Inanattempttopreventunwantedsynchronizing,thekeystrokesrequiredtoinitiatesynchronizinghave
a time limit. Once the time limit has passed, the Handheld unit must be powered off before a new
synchronizationcanbestarted.
4. TosynchronizeaHandheldunitwithaReceiver,followthestepsbelow:
5. HoldtheAUXbuttondownwhilepoweringuptheHandheldunit.TheHandheldunitispoweredupby
brieypushingandreleasingthePowerON/OFFbutton.ReleasetheAUXbuttonanytimeafterthe
greenOn/Off/TransmitLEDcomeson.
6. Withinthenext3secondspushandreleasetheAUXbuttonagain.AfterashortdelaytheHandheld
unitwillstartsendingrequeststotheReceiverforaserialnumber.Upto6requestswillbemadewhile
theHandheldlistensforanyReceiversinthevicinity.TheHandheldwillthenashallLED’soncefor
each Receiver which responded to the Handheld. The Handheld will then select the Receiver with the
strongest signal.
7. IfanewHandheldunitcontinuestoashallLED’sinunisonafteranattemptismadeto synchronizeit
toaReceiver,thesynchronizationattemptwasunsuccessful.Thisisusuallyduetoimproperly
implementingthesynchronizationsequenceofbuttonpushes.SimplyturntheHandheldoffandtryagain.
8. IfaHandheldunitisnotnewandhasbeenpreviouslysynchronizedtoaReceiver,itcanbe
synchronizedtoadifferentReceiverifdesired.InthiscasethesynchronizationtotheoldReceiveris
lostwhenthesynchronizationtothenewReceiverisestablished.Ifsynchronizationfails,thehandheld
unitwillreturntoblinkingallLED’sinunison.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
A. HANDHELD CONTROLLER OPERATION
TheHandheldcontrollerisusedtocontrolthemonitorandnozzle.
1.Tochangethehorizontalmonitorpositiontowardtherightorleft:
Presstheproperbutton“RIGHT”or“LEFT”respectively,aslabeledonthecontroller,untilthedesiredpositionis
reached.
2.Tochangetheverticalmonitornozzlepositionupwardordownward:
Presstheproperbutton“RAISE”or“LOWER”respectively,aslabeledonthecontroller,untilthedesiredpositionis
reached.
3.Tochangethenozzlepatterntowardthestraightstreamorfogposition:
Presstheproperbutton“STRAIGHT”or“FOG”respectively,aslabeledonthecontroller,untilthedesirednozzleposition
is reached.
4.TheAUXbuttoncanbeusedforanStow,DeployorOscillationdependingontheelectricalinstallationoftheAUXwire
inthelogicbox.(SeeElectricalInstallationofReceiver)
5.TheAUXLEDisastatusLEDreportingthestateofthesignalatTB1#9intheLogicBox.Itisupdatedwhenthe
HandheldunitispoweredupbutthereafteronlywhentheHandheldismovingthemonitorornozzle.TheAUXLEDis
alsoupdatedfor20secondsaftertheAUXbuttonisreleased.ThegreenOn/Off/TransmitLEDwillcontinuetoashdur-
ingthe20secondsthattheHandheldisupdatingtheAUXLED.
B. POWER DOWN
Thecontrollerwillautomaticallypowerdownafter5minutesofnon-activitytoconservebatterylife.
C. LOW BATTERY
TheON/OFFtransmitLEDontheHandheldwillturnredwithapproximately2hoursofcontinuoustransmissiontime
remaining before the battery(s) are completely discharged. There is a transition period in which the LED will alternate
between red and green as the battery voltage slowly falls.
D.BATTERYREPLACEMENT
Forunitswithtwo1.5VAALithiumbatteries,removethebatterycoverontherearofthecontrollerandremovetheold
batteries. Replace with new batteries and replace the battery cover. Be sure to observe the polarity markings in the
batterycompartment.Inanemergency,normal1.5VAAalkalinebatteriescanbeusedtopowerthecontrollerforseveral
hours of continuous use.

For single battery Handheld units, remove the four screws on the back of the Handheld and carefully remove the back
cover. It maybe necessary to use a small screw driver to remove the battery from its holder. Be careful to not damage
any components on the circuit board during battery replacement.
E. BACKLIGHT
The controller is equipped with a backlight to illuminate the buttons when visibility is limited. The backlight will turn off
after 30 seconds of non-activity. Press any button to turn the backlight back on.
