STEP 12: PORCH ROOF
Stand house on the back panel. Apply glue
to one edge of the porch roof and place it
in the center of the house front as shown.
Take care to line up the roof peaks and both
half posts. See arrows.
STEP 13: STEEPLE WINDOWS
Apply a small amount of glue to the back of the
steeple window and place the window centered
between the roof and the top of the roof mount
as shown.
STEP 15: TRELLIS
A) Check that the three trellis pieces t ush
with the bottom of the porch frame. Sand the
trellis bottom if necessary until it ts ush with
the bottom. Glue the side trellis pieces in
place along with the front trellis.
B) Glue porch corner pieces in place then set
aside to dry.
STEP 16: WINDOWS
Lay the house on one side. Using
the window template locate and
glue one side of the windows.
Allow at least 15 minutes to dry
between sides. Flip the template
upside down for the right side
windows. See images to the right.
STEP 17: DOOR
Glue door to front. You may have to raise door
slightly to uncover entire opening.
NOTE: THOROUGHLY SAND THE BIRD OPENING TO
PREVENT DAMAGE TO BIRDS FEATHERS.
STEP 18: ROOF
A) Measure 2” or 5 cm. back from one side of main
roof and glue front of steeple at this point.
B) Glue roof to main body positioning equally
front and back.
NOTE: YOU MAY WISH TO GLUE THE ROOF TO THE BODY
AFTER YOU PAINT YOUR HOUSE. DO NOT PAINT ANY
SURFACE WHERE GLUE IS TO BE APPLIED.
STEP 19: MOUNTING BLOCKS
Apply a liberal amount of glue to
mounting screw blocks and adhere
1/16” to 1/8” higher than the bottom
of the birdhouse. Repeat for all four
blocks. Let dry overnight before
nishing.
STEP 20: BASE
A) Insert 4 #8 screws into the pre-drilled holes in the base starting from
the side with the tapered hole. Allow about 1/8” to protrude.
See image 6A.
B)
Gently place the body onto the base centering in both directions. See
image 6B.

C) Apply pressure to
both sides to indent
all four screws
into the screw blocks.
D) Tighten screws until
the base is tight
to the body. You
will have to loosen
screws and re-tighten
as you apply pressure
to the base. Repeat
until the base is tight to the body.
STEP 14: PORCH RAILINGS
Using a window as a spacer glue one of the railings to back post as
shown in image 5B. Apply glue to the other side of the railing then to the
top and bottom of one of the porch posts. See 5B. Repeat with the other
side placing the window as shown in image 5C. You can also use the
post template as a guide to place a small amount of glue to the oor then
to the top of the post. See image 5D.
