3 Charge your handset
So it can charge fully, place your handset on its charger base for at least 15
IPVSTNBLFTVSFUIFQPXFSTPDLFUJTTXJUDIFEPO
Important: only use the rechargeable 800mAh NiMH batteries supplied.
Over time if you need to replace the batteries make sure they are of the
same type as those supplied. Never use Alkaline batteries.

Important: make sure your handset is fully charged before you try to register it.
Register your handset to a PowerTel 500, 580 or 580 Combo
At your new PowerTel 501 additional handset:

If you have a PowerTel 500 or 580, at the base:
Press and hold (500) or GPSBUMFBTUTFDPOETVOUJMUIFDIBSHJOH
light on the base ashes.

Register your handset to an older PowerTel model base
Important: make sure your handset is fully charged before you try to register it.
1. Open your menu by pressing , then scroll 3 times until you highlight
Handset and press .
2. Scroll once until you highlight Registration and press .

Note: the Page key is used for registration and is located on the PowerTel
base you are trying to register your handset to. The key will have an icon like
this on it. See page 13 for an example of where it may be located.

Attach the belt clip (optional)
There is a belt clip included in the box that you can attach to the back of your
handset if required. Simply turn the handset over and slot the belt clip securely
