DXZC and DXZ4 series
PCoIP zero clients
Quick Start Guide
This guide is for all RJ45 and SFP zero clients: DXZ4, DXZ4-M, DXZ4-A, DXZ4-AM, DXZC, DXZC-M, DXZC-A, DXZC-AM, DXZC-E, DXZC-EM.
This guide is also for the card-reader models: DXZC-C, DXZC-M, DXZC-MC, DXZC-EC, DXZC-EMC, DXZC-AC and DXZC-AMC. All models are supplied with a PSU and power cable.
Note: This guide refers to all models as ‘zero client’ unless a model is specified. Pictures shown may vary from the model you have.
STEP 3: Power on the unit
1. Press the POWER/MENU button.
2. Turn on the monitor(s).
Before you start
Make sure a remote PCoIP host is available. Know the IP address or
DNS name of the physical host, or server address for virtual hosts.
STEP 1: Connect the Keyboard, Mouse and optional
Headphones (DXZ4, DXZC) or Headset (DXZC)
STEP 2: Connect Monitors, Speakers,
Network and Power
1. Connect at least one monitor, SFP modules if
required, network cable and power supply (PSU).
Use only the PSU supplied with the unit.
2. Connect speakers (not supplied) if required.
Note: DXZ4 model shown. DXZC models have two video ports and one network port.

Integral USB card-reader (DXZC-C series)
Some DXZC models have an integral card reader. The reader supports CAC and
SIPRNet tokens, ISO 7816 and EMV 2000 Level 1, and is compatible with 5v, 3v and
1.8v smart cards. The LED will be green under normal operation.
STEP 4: Connect to a host
Choose a connection type (optional)
1. To change the connection type, select Options > Configurations > Sessions.
2. Click Unlock and enter the default password ahkdante.
To connect directly to a PCoIP host (Direct to Host + SLP discovery)
1. Click the Connect button.
The message ‘Discovering hosts’, followed by a list of available hosts appears.
2. Select the chosen PCoIP host from the list and click OK.
The Connect button is greyed out until the zero client has a network
connection and an IP address.
To connect to a virtual desktop (View Connection Server)
1. Set the connection type to View Connection Server or View Connection Server
+ Auto Logon.
2. Enter the address of the View Connection Server.

Note: PCoIP LED is blue for fiber connections.
Connect additional peripherals
There is a minimum of one USB port and a maximum of six USB ports to the rear of
the zero client, depending on the model. Check the manufacturer’s instructions
before you connect any peripherals.
