NXA-TTS500-BL Table-Top Stand for NXD-500i
Overview
The NXA-TTS500-BL Table Top Stand (FG2261-50) for the NXD-500i 5" Modero®
Touch Panel with Intercom (panel sold separately) provides a table top installation
option for conference rooms and residential applications as well as a wired intercom
tabletop solution (FIG. 1).
Installation
The following sections describe installing an NXD-500i Touch Panel into the
NXA-TTS500-BL Table-Top Stand. This procedure involves first removing the
NXD-500i from it’s back-box, then installing the panel into the NXA-TTS500-BL
Table-Top Stand.
Note: Before touching the device, discharge the static electricity from your body by
touching a grounded metal object.
Step 1: Disconnect Touch Panel Wiring
If the panel is connected, disconnect all wiring from the NXD-500i:
•Ethernet Port - The NXD-500i has no power input port. Instead, all power is
supplied via the Power over Ethernet (PoE) protocol. With PoE, the power is
supplied directly through the Ethernet port from either a PoE-enabled switcher,
or a PoE Injector.
•Mini-USB Port - The mini-USB port is used for software upload and audio
output.
Step 2: Remove the Bezel from the NXD-500i
The Bezel snaps on and off the NXD-500i, no screws are used or required. To remove
the Bezel from the NXD-500i (FIG. 2):
1. Gently lift up on the Bezel from the top edge to disengage the plastic tabs on the
top edge of the panel from the notches on the Bezel.
2. Remove the Bezel from the two bottom prongs.
Step 3: Remove the NXD-500i Back Box
To remove the plastic back-box from the NXD-500i:
1. Disconnect the microphone cable from the bottom right corner of the Touch
Panel. FIG. 3 indicates the location of the microphone cable connector.
2. Remove the two plastite mounting screws from the bottom front of the touch
panel (FIG. 3). These screws secure the panel to the back-box.
Note: Discard these plastite screws; they should not be re-used.
3. Remove the touch panel from the back-box (FIG. 4):
a. Gently pull the panel from the bottom edge. Note that the top edge is
secured to the back-box with two metal tabs.
b. Disengage the metal tabs on the top of the panel from the notches on the
back-box.
4. Carefully remove the microphone from the notch on the back-box.
Step 4: Establish Internal Connections and Mount Microphone
The NXA-TTS500-BL Table-Top Stand is equipped with internal connectors that
connect to the touch panel via pre-installed adapter cables (FIG. 5).
This allows the Table-Top Stand to provide external connectors on the rear panel for
ease-of-access.

To connect the Touch Panel to the internal connectors in the Table-Top Stand:
1. ETHERNET/POE Port on the NXD-500i: Connect the RJ45 connector inside
the Table-Top Stand to the ETHERNET/POE port on the side panel of the
NXD-500i.
2. USB Port on the NXD-500i: Connect the USB connector inside the Table-Top
Stand to the USB port on the side panel of the NXD-500i.
Mounting the Microphone in the Table-Top Stand
The microphone cable connects to the NXD-500i at the bottom right corner of the front
panel (FIG. 6):
1. Insert the microphone into the microphone notch on the upper-right corner of the
Table-Top Stand (FIG. 7):
2. Plug the microphone cable into the microphone cable connector at the lower-
right corner of the NXD-500i (see FIG. 6).
Step 5: Install The NXD-500i Into the Table-Top Stand
At this point the touch panel can be installed in the TTS enclosure:
1. Slide the touch panel into the Table-Top Stand until the front edge of the panel
sits flush against the front panel of the Table-Top Stand.
Note: Be careful not to pinch or damage the cables connecting the NXD-500i to
the internal connectors in the Table-Top Stand. In particular, be sure to position
the microphone cable such that it is not damaged or pinched when the panel is
inserted into the Table-Top Stand.
2. Use the two mounting screws (included with the Table-Top Stand) to secure the
touch panel to the Table-Top Stand enclosure (FIG. 8).
Note: Do not use excessive force or over-tighten the screws - doing so could damage
the touch panel.
Step 6: Re-Install the Bezel on the NXD-500i
The Bezel snaps on and off the NXD-500i, no screws are used or required.
To re-install the Bezel on the NXD-500i:
1. Carefully align the Bezel with the front of the NXD-500i panel. Note the
positions of the notches on the front of the panel and the tabs on the inside of
the Bezel.
Note: Make sure to align the Microphone, Light, and PIR Motion sensor
locations to their respective openings on the Bezel.
2. Gently press the top edge of the Bezel into the top edge of the panel, and
engage the metal tabs on the panel with the matching notches on the Bezel.
3. Gently press the bottom edge of the Bezel on to the bottom edge of the panel
until it snaps into place.
Step 7: Install the Bezel on the NXA-TTS500-BL
The final step is to install the Bezel on the Table-Top Stand: the Bezel slides onto the
Table-Top Stand from the rear.
Note: Orient the bezel so that the microphone notch is located at the upper-right
corner (when viewed from the front)
Slide the Bezel on to the NXA-TTS500-BL, from the rear of the enclosure, until it is
flush against the mounting tabs on the Table-Top Stand.
FIG. 9 provides an exploded view of the entire assembly including the NXD-500i
Bezel, Panel, Table-Top Stand and NXA-TTS500 Bezel:
NXA-TTS500-BL Rear Panel Connectors

connect the touch panel to the control system. Once connected, these connectors
behave exactly the same as the ETHERNET/POE and USB ports on the touch panel
itself.

The NXA-TTS500-BL features a cable routing knockout on the bottom panel,
mounting holes and internal strain relief to provide a secure table-top installation
option (FIG. 10).
Refer to the TTS Secure Mounting / Alternate Cable Routing Installation Guide
(available at www.amx.com) for instructions.
