Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 Introduction
ACB336 is an HDTV receiver box. It receives ATSC, NTSC and
digital cable clear QAM programs. RF pass- through is
supported for 2nd box or TV, so you won’t need another antenna.
It has EIA-909 smart antenna control interface and
user-selectable CVBS, Components (YPbPr) and HDMI output.
EPG, V-chip and closed captioning are also supported.

Power adapter (12VDC/1A) x 1 Remote control with battery x 1

Chapter 2 Cable Connection and First Power On
1. Connect antenna or cable RF output to box “ANT IN” F-connector.
2. If EIA-909 smart antenna is connected, use RJ-11 cable to connect
antenna control box and “SMART ANTENNA” jack in the box.
3. If TV supports composite AV only, use attached YPbPr cable (Green
plug) to connect TV AV IN (yellow jack) and box “Y” (Green jack).
4. Switch the “OUT SELECT” slide switch to the right side (near HDMI
jack).
5. Go to step 12 to continue audio connection.
6. If TV supports HDMI interface, use HDMI cable (not included) to
connect TV HDMI IN jack and box “HDMI” jack.
7. Switch the “OUT SELECT” slide switch to left side (near DIAG jack).
8. Go to step 12 to continue audio connection.
9. If TV supports component YPbPr video, use included component cable
(Green, Blue, Red plug) to connect TV YPbPr IN (Green, Blue, Red
jack) and box “YPbPr” (Green, Blue, Red jack) at the rear cover.
10. Switch the “OUT SELECT” slide switch to center position.
11. Go to step 12 to continue audio connection.
12. Use included audio cable (White, Red plug and 3.5” phone plug) to
connect box “AUDIO” jack and TV AUDIO IN. White plug is for TV
White jack (left channel) and Red plug is for TV Red jack (right
channel).
13. Now, you can turn on the power by plug in the power adapter to box
and wall power socket.
14. When DC power is applied, Red LED will be on at front panel. Use
remote POWER key to turn on box, Green LED will be on and wait for
20 sec to finish boot up. A Start Scan menu will be displayed and you
can select signal source from Air or Cable (STD, HRC and IRC).
Please check local cable operator to learn which cable frequency plan
in your area.

Chapter 4 Menu Operation
4.1 How to use OSD Menu
Press remote MENU key to display OSD menu. There are
three areas for each OSD menu – Main Menu, Sub-
Menu
Title, and Sub-Menu List.
: move the menu bar up
: move the menu bar down
: go to upper menu level
: go to lower menu level or show the options
OK : Confirm an action

4.2 TV menu
TV
This submenu provide TV channel related functions,
such as scanning, parental control, EPG and CC.
TV – Tuner Source
Tuner Source is to select the signal source.
Air: ATSC/NTSC reception of broadcast physical
channels 2-69
Cable: NTSC/QAM reception of cable channels
2-125 (STD) and 1-125 (HRC, IRC)
When watching program from local cable operator.
Please check local cable operator to learn which cable
frequency plan in your area.
TV – Smart Antenna
To detects if a smart antenna is used for air reception.
When smart antenna is detected
, it provides quick and
full scan options. Full scan will try all possible
directions and look for best signal for you but it takes a
lot longer.
TV – Channel Scan
There are three kinds of scanning mode.
Updated Scan: Scan channels which are not in
channel list and add new found channels to existing
channel list.
Scan All: Clear all locked channels data before
doing a full range scan.
Scan a Channel: Scan a specified channel number.
The channel frequency scanned is based on tuner
source selection.

TV – Add/Delete
To delete or un-
delete a channel from channel list, so it
will hide the channel you select when changing
channels (CH +/-).
TV – Parental Control
This feature restricts content viewing. Enter
password to set rating limits. Initial password is
「0000」.

TV – Closed Captioning
There are
analog CC1~4, TEXT1~4 and digital CS1~6
to display when caption is available. Some programs
include both analog and digital caption. Digital
caption display has higher priority. [CC Style]
enables change caption display styles, such as color,
font and background.
TV – EPG
Two types of EPG presentations are supported.
Present EPG: Provide a list of current program
playing in each channel.
Daily EPG: Display program list on a specified date
for a channel.

4.3 Video menu
Video
Video menu provides slide bars to adjust video output
parameters including brightness, contrast, color, hue,
and sharpness.
4.4 Audio menu
Audio
MTS: There are stereo, mono and SAP (second
audio program) options for analog program.
Digital Audio: The available audio tracks (EX:
English, Spanish or French) depend on digital
program.
4.5 Setup menu
Setup
The Setup menu includes settings of the box.
Menu Language: Has English, Spanish and French
OSD languages.
Menu Timeout: Set the time to close menu after
specified time without any operation.
Time Zone: Adjusts program time of EPG according
different time zone and day light saving.
Resolution: Change YPbPr or HDMI video output
resolution when select either YPbPr or HDMI
interface via slide switch at back panel.
Aspect Ratio: Normal and Zoom options.
Power Off: Auto turn off power after a period of
inactivity.

YPbPr supports: NTSC 480i, HD 480p, HD 720p, HD
1080i
Select desired resolution from OSD or directly press
the FORMAT key of remote controller to change it.
Setup – Resolution (HDMI)
HDMI supports: HD 480p, HD720p, PC 800x600, PC
1024x768, PC 1280x768, PC 1280x800
“Auto” option will check the EDID of Receiver and
decide a best resolution.
Please follow the OSD descriptions to change HDMI
resolution:
1.Change resolution and it will pop up an OSD to
reboot the system.
2.
After rebooting, it will pop up an OSD to confirm the
changing. Select “No” to apply new resolution.
If your displayer can’t recognize the new resolution,
system will reboot with old resolution in 10 seconds.
Setup – Aspect Ratio
Normal: Displays full video in original video aspect
ratio. Video may be di
splayed in letter or pillar box.
Zoom: Display bigger size video but portion of video
(top-bottom, left-right) will be cut off at some
conditions.
Setup – Power Off
This will turn off power after a period of inactivity to
box. Default is set to 4 hours to conserve energy.
When boot up after an auto power off, a pop-up
message will display to remind you the result. Press
OK to exit pup-up.

may, against this card, enjoy the free maintenance service the distributor
provides for one full year from the purchase date, excluding consumable
items and spare parts.
However, if any of the following conditions is found to exist, there is a small
charge for the service at the discretion of the distributor:
1.The warranty period has been expired.
2.Unauthorized dismantle has been made to inspect and repair the product.
3.Improper use of the product such as plugging into the wrong power source,
damaged by dropping.
4.Damages caused by natural calamities such as fire, flood, earthquake,
thunderbolt, etc.
