1. Product Description
1.1.Introduction
Apacer CAN bus(Controller Area Network) solution is designed in Mini PCIe for both
full and half height form factor. Apacer CAN Bus series module can optionally support
different protocols (CAN 2.0 A/B, OBDII, J1939 & J1708 protocols) for Vehicle diagnostic
interface and offers an ideal CAN Bus solution for the In-vehicle computing system.

4. CAN Function Switch
The Termination Resistor Switch enables the user to change the 120-ohm resistor
quickly. It does not require any specific cable.

6. Installation
6.1.Driver Installation
For the operation of Apacer CAN modules , a driver is needed.
Please plug in Apacer EFC-D/EHC-D series CAN module into your
development desktop PC or laptop and follow below steps to install its
driver.
Step 1:
Insert Apacer EFC-D/EHC-D CAN module into miniPCIe-to-USB
adapter, and then plug in your development desktop PC or laptop USB
host socket.
Step 2:
Launch device manager and Apacer EFC-D/EHC-D CAN module
could be found in “Other devices” as Figure 1 or Figure 2.

Step3:
The following steps show how to install the driver of Apacer CAN
EFC-D modules (Full size mPCIe) by Step 3 ~ 5.
Select the device name and press mouse right key to click “Update
Driver Software…” to do driver installation, as Figure 3.

Select “Browse my computer for driver software” to install driver
manually as Figure 4.

Step5:
Browse to the Apacer EFC-D CAN bus module folder to do driver
installation.

Step6:
The following steps show how to install the driver of Apacer CAN
EHC-D modules (Half size mPCIe) by Step 6 ~ 8.
Select the appropriate installation file (x64 or x86) and launch it.
Step7:
Follow the installation instructions to install EHC-D series driver.

Step8:
Run EHC-D driver patching tool to complete the driver installation and it
will auto-reboot Windows system.

6.2.Hardware Installation
Make sure driver is installed.
Turn off computer.
Pull power cord.
Open computer case according to instructions of computer manufacturer.
Determine corresponding slot.
Plug PC connector in corresponding slot, without using force.
Make sure the interface is securely held in computer.
Close computer case.
Hardware installation is complete
