5.1 I/O Connections
Use a HDMI cable to connect any HDMI devices to the Matrix. Use a CATx cable to
connect the HDBT-1-Rs-II-POE to the output (RJ-45)

5.3 IR EXT Connection

5.4 Remote Communications
Use the supplied RS-232 cable to connect the computer’s serial port (COM1 or COM2)
to the RS-232 port of the CLN-SW-4x4-HDBT to enable remote control via serial
interface.

5.5 LAN Connection
CLN-SW-4x4-HDBT also supports a LAN port that allows you to control the switch
through browser.

5.6.4 DIP Switch (8 pins)

Dip switch pins 1 to 5: Down position (ON) is “0”, the up position (OFF) is “1”. The
default value is “ON”
Dip switch pin 6: Master/slave (enable/disable). Only the master can be controlled
by the external controller, the others switches in the system must be slave.
• ON: RS-485 is the master in the serial chain and RS-232/LAN is enabled
• OFF: RS-485 is the slave in the serial chain and RS-232/LAN is disabled
Dip switch pin 7: Switch between RS-232 or LAN connection. The default value is
“OFF”
• ON: RS-232
• OFF: LAN
Dip switch Pin 8: Resets the web server IP address to 192.168.0.3, the default value
is “OFF”.
To reset the IP address
1. Set Pin 8 to ON and restart the matrix
2. After the matrix starts, shut it down again after 10 seconds
3. Set Pin 8 to OFF, then power on the matrix, the IP address will be set to
default value: 192.168.0.3

5.6.6 Device ID Settings
When multiple matrices are connected to a single PC, or when multiple matrices are
serially connected, the device ID determines which matrix is to be controlled. This
can be set by using the On/Off switches on the real panel.

6.0 Switcher Application Software
6.1 Software Introduction
The <AV Matrix> matrix control software is used in many different Apantac
products.
6.1.1 Software Description
The <AV Matrix> is a matrix testing application. The operating environment is as
follows,
- Windos 7/98/2000/NT/XP/Vista
- 32 MB RAM
- 10 MB of Hard Disk
- CD-ROM
- At least one serial port
6.1.2 Software Installation
Double click on the AV Matrix.msi in the CD to install the software, click “Next”, and
follow the instructions on screen.

6.1.3 Connect switch and PC
1. Turn off CLN-SW-6x1-M
2. Connect the RS-232 to the PC’s RS-232 port
3. Make sure the DIP switches on the rear panel are set to Master
6.2 Configuration
Once the installation is complete, click on the <AV Matrix> Icon to launch the
application. In the “Options” dialogbox, select the comport and baud rate, then
click “OK”.

Slide the scroll bar on the lower left area of thw main window to view all contents,
including ID, Name, Audio, Video, Input, Output, Presets, VI Plug, AI Plug, VO Plug,
AO Plug, EDID Type, Volume and etc.

6.3 LAN Web Interface
Launch the browser on the PC, type in the IP address, http://192.168.0.3 to log into
the AV Matrix control configuration.
