CHAPTER 1: Introduction & Intended Use
This device is intended to provide continuous positive airway pressure ( CPAP ) for the treatment of adult
Obstructive Sleep Apnea ( OSA ) in spontaneously breathing patients weighing over 30 kg ( 66 lbs. ). It is for
use in the home or hospital / institutional environment.

CHAPTER 2: Warning & Cautions
NOTE, CAUTION, AND WARNING STATEMENTS
NOTE: Indicates information that you should pay special attention to.
CAUTION: Indicates correct operating or maintenance procedures in order to prevent damage to or
destruction of the equipment or other property.
WARNING: Calls attention to a potential danger that requires correct procedures or practices in order to
prevent personal injury.
DANGER –To reduce the risk of electrocution
1. DO NOT place or store product where it can fall into or be pulled into a bath or sink.
2. DO NOT place or immerse the unit into water or other liquids.
WARNINGS –To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire or injury to the user or operator.
1. THIS DEVICE IS NOT INTENDED FOR LIFE SUPPORT.
2. The airflow for breathing generated by this device may be as much as 5°C (41°F) higher than the room
temperature. This device should not be used if the room temperature is warmer than 35°C (95°F) to
prevent the airflow temperature from exceeding 43°C (109°F) and causing irritation to your airway.
3. This machine should be used only with masks (and connectors) recommended by the manufacturer, or
by your physician or respiratory therapist.
4. Equipment is not suitable for use in the presence of a flammable anesthetic mixture with air or with
nitrous oxide or oxygen.
5. Use this product only for its intended purpose as described in this manual. DO NOT use auxiliary
attachments that are not approved by the manufacturer.
6. Use only Apex Medical Corp. or confirmed by Apex Medical Corp. parts and accessories with the device.
Non-Apex Medical Corp. parts may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment, potential allergic
reactions or damage the device.
7. No modification of this equipment is allowed. If this equipment is modified, appropriate inspection and
testing must be conducted to ensure continued safe use of the equipment.
8. Make sure the environment around the machine is dry and clean. Dust and foreign particles may
affect the treatment. Keep the air inlet on the back of the machine clear to prevent overheating and
damage of the device. Do not place the machine near a source of hot or cold air. Extreme cold or hot
environment may damage the user's respiratory airway.
9. If there is a possibility of electro-magnetic interference with mobile phones, please increase the distance
between devices or turn off the mobile phone.
10. Do not connect the device to the personal computer for data downloading during the treatment. This
may cause the CPAP device failure.
11. Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided because it could
result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this equipment and the other equipment should
be observed to verify that they are operating normally.
12. Use of accessories, transducers and cables other than those specified or provided by the manufacturer of
this equipment could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic
immunity of this equipment and result in improper operation.
13. Sources of oxygen must be located more than 1 m from the equipment to avoid the risk of fire and
burns.

14. Failure to use a mask or accessory that minimizes rebreathing of carbon dioxide or permits spontaneous
breathing can cause asphyxiation.
CAUTION –Reducing the risk of damage to the device.
1. Mobile RF communications equipment can affect medical electrical equipment.
2. Ensure that the SD card sealed cover and filter back cover are both closed whenever any of the
accessories are not installed.
3. Do not use any extension cords with this device.
4. Make sure the filter area at the back of the device is not blocked and check and change the inlet
filter for each specific time (The detail as Chapter 6 Cleaning & Maintenance).
5. Do not install a wet filter into the device.
6. Do not place the device directly onto carpet, fabric, or other flammable materials.
7. Do not place the device in or on any container that can collect or hold water.
8. Tobacco smoke may cause tar build-up within the device, which may result in the device
malfunctioning.
9. Make sure that the DC power cord securely insert into your therapy device before using.
10. Only use APEX Medical Corp. approved DC Power Cord and Adapter. Use of any other system may
cause damage to the device.
11. The equipment must not be covered or positioned in such a way that the operation or
performance of the equipment is adversely affected.
12. Place the device away from sources of heat and moisture to avoid damaging the equipment.

CHAPTER 3: Theory of Operation

CHAPTER 4: Maintenance
4-1. Cleaning of the Device
The device should be checked and dusted regularly at least every 30 days.
1. Pull out the plug from the device.
2. Wipe the outside of device with a cloth dampened with water and mild detergent
3. Device should be air-dried thoroughly before use. Inspect the device and all circuit parts for any
damage after cleaning and replace if necessary.
WARNING
To avoid electric shock, the power cord must be unplugged
before cleaning.
Don’t try to open this device. Repairs and internal servicing
should only be performed by an authorized service agent.
Do not drop any object into the air tube or air outlet.
Do not clean the machine during operation
4-2. Cleaning the Humidifier
The humidifier should be checked and cleaned daily (or after every time use) to prevent the growth of
germs that might affect the user’s health.
1. Wipe the outside of the humidifier with a cloth dampened with water and mild detergent
2. Open the water chamber and discard any remaining water.
3. Wash the water chamber with warm water and mild detergent.
4. Rinse the water chamber and allow drying out of direct sunlight and/or heat. Inspect all parts for
any damage after cleaning and replace if necessary.
4-3. Cleaning the Tubing
The air tubing should be checked and cleaned daily (or after every time use) to prevent the growth of
germs that might affect the user’s health (please also refer to the air tubing instruction manual).
1. Disconnect the air tubing from the air outlet of the device.
2. Wash the air tubing in warm water using mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly, hang, and allow to dry. All
items of the air tubing are subject to normal wear and tear and may eventually be replaced. Replace
the air tubing if they are

CAUTION
Do not use bleach, chlorine-, alcohol-, or aromatic-based, which including all
scented oils, moisturizing or antibacterial soaps to clean the cushion, mask or
air tubing. These solutions may cause hardening and reduce the life of the
product.
Do not wash or dry the mask or air tubing at a temperature above 70°C (158°F)
Do not use any cleaner containing fragrance or conditioners as they will leave
a residue.
4-4. Replace Air Filter
For an optimal operation of the device, the Ultra filter is disposable and should be replaced after 30
nights of use or sooner if it appears dirty; however, depending on the air quality, the replacement time
may vary.
1. Open back cover and remove the dirty filter from the enclosure on the rear of the device.
2. Replace a new filter and close back cover.
WARNING
The Ultra filter is not washable or reusable.
Only APEX-supplied filters should be used as replacement
filters.
Dirty air filter may cause high operating temperatures that
affect device performance.
Disassembly Steps:
Find the position of the filter in the picture and pull out the lid. Remove the filter and replace it.

CHAPTER 5: Troubleshooting
It is necessary to pass the verification from APEX headquarters and get the certificate. Any unauthorized
servicing or repairing will void the warranty of the product

SD communication fail
1-1. Check the SD card format (FAT32).

The Wi-Fi signal is too weak
1. Please put the device closer to AP.
Ensure the device is placed where
there is coverage (i.e., on your
bedside table, not in a drawer or
on the floor). The icon of wireless
should be turned on if the wireless
coverage is good.
2. Check for connection of flat flexible
cable if the problem remains the
same<refer to 6-3>.
3. Replace the Wi-Fi module if the
problem still remains the same

Error 005
No Wi-Fi connection
1. Ensure to turn off airplane mode
and Wi-Fi is on.
2. Make sure there is no change in the
IT-network configuration (or Make
sure there are no co-existence
interferes by adding new item/dis

3. Check for connection of FFC cable if
above solutions do not work <refer

Error 006
Cellular is too weak
1. Ensure the cellular setting is on
<refer to 7-5>.
2. Replace a new 4G SIM card for
testing if the signal still remains
too weak.
3. Check if the Antenna connects to
the 4G module board <refer to
6-4>.
4. Replace the 4G module board if
the problem still remains <refer to
6-4>.

Wi-Fi module communication failure
1. Check for connection of FFC cable

Server can't be connected
1. Restart the device.

CHAPTER 6: Component Removal & Installation
It is necessary to pass the verification from APEX headquarters and get the certificate. Any unauthorized
servicing or repairing will void the warranty of the product.
6-1. Open the Top cover
Applicable Model: iX Fit / iX Sense / iX Auto
Disassembly Steps:
Remove the 4 screws under the bottom and the top cover can be separated.
For insert the 4G card, it needs to remove Start socket screw, which is right beside the 4G-port (This
disassembly step is only applied for iX auto).
Assembly Steps:
According to the disassembly steps, assemble in reverse order.
The tightening torque of bottom electric screwdriver: 4~6 kgf-cm.
The tightening torque of star socket screwdriver: 0.3~1kgf-cm

6-2. LCD Display
Applicable Model : iX Auto
Disassembly Steps:
1. Remove the 4 screws under the bottom and top cover can be separated <Refer to 6.1>.
2. Squeeze both sides of the screen bracket and make 2 buckles under the screen separately.
3. Remove the FFC cable.
Assembly Steps:
1. Make sure the Wi-Fi cable needs to be assembled to the bottom and the FFC cable should be presented
S-shape under the screen.
2. According to the disassembly steps, assemble the LCD displaying in reverse order.
3. The LCD Display connector should be buckle up tightly.

6-3. Mainboard
Applicable Model: iX Fit
Disassembly Steps:
1. Remove the 4 screws under the bottom and top cover can be separated < Refer to 6.1 >.
2. Pull up the mainboard upward and disconnect all the cables from the mainboard (Heating
Humidifier / Blower / DC cord).
Assembly Steps:
1. Connect the blower cable and make sure the loading direction is correct.
2. Connect the heating humidifier cable and DC jack cable.
3. While assembling the mainboard, make sure the 6 ribs should align to the 6 holes which on the
mainboard. Please note that one of the ribs is under the LCD display and pay attention not to lose
the 6 pieces of O-ring due to its light and small.
