instructionsheetstodrawyourattentiontothesituations
describedbelow.
Safety warning symbol. When you see this
symbol on the motorcycle or instruction sheets,
beware of potential injury hazards.
Failureto observe the instructionsfollowing these
symbols may affect your safety, the safety of
others and that of the motor cycle!

For the sake of safety, before starting the
vehicle, carry out a thorough preliminary check.
See the PRELIMINARY CHECK LIST IN THE
VEHICLE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
HANDBOOK.
Failure to carry out these checks may lead to
serious injury or damage to the vehicle.
Verylittletime is required, and thebenefitsinterms
of safety are enormous.
The components in this handbook are supplied
disassembled,andhave to befittedto the motorcycle.
These instruction sheets for dealers describe the
correctfitting procedures.
Readthe instructionsin the sheetsto avoid
breakagesor incorrect assembly.
Removeloosebodywork componentsfromthecrate.
Afterremovingthenailed-onsupportsand crosspieces
fromthe crate (usedfor transportpurposes), push the
motor cycle off the bottom of the crate and position it
onthe stand.
You can now proceed with the operations described
below.
NB: The instructions for the battery, wing mirrors
and spray guards are inside the helmet
compartment under the saddle.

ASSEMBLING INDICATORS
•Insidethepack,theindicatorsarehangingas shown
inthe diagram;cut thefascia (1).
Fitthe leftindicatorlight intoits housing
•Andsecure with thescrewTCEI M 5x15(2) and the
flangedself-locking nutM 5(3).
Repeat for the right-hand indicator.

ASSEMBLING SPRAY GUARDS
•To fit the spray guards (1) fit the washer (2)and
securewith the screwTBEIM5x20 (3) and theself-
locking nut M 5 (4).
•Positionthe licenseplate light(5) andsecure with
two self-blocking nuts M 5 (6). Fit the bulb (7)into
thehousing.

BATTERY
Batteryelectrolyteis toxic, caustic and the contact
with the skin may cause serious burns, since it
contains sulfuric acid. Wear protective clothing, a
face shield and/or tight fitting goggles when
workingaround the battery.Incaseofcontactwith
the skin, flush immediately with plenty of water.
In case of contact with the eyes, flush with plenty
of water for at least 15 minutes. Immediately
consult an oculist.
If the electrolyte is accidentally swallowed, drink
large quantities of water or milk, and then milk of
magnesia or vegetable oil. Immediately consult a
health professional. The battery gives off noxious
andexplosive gases; keep itaway from cigarettes,
flames, sparks and any other source of heat.
During the recharging or the use, make sure hat
the room is properly ventilated and avoid inhaling
the gases released during the recharging.
KEEPAWAY FROM CHILDREN.

The battery liquid is corrosive. Do not pour or
sprinkle it, particularly on plastic parts. When the
battery has been removed it must be placed in a
safeplace out ofthe reach ofchildren. The battery
is very dangerous and may cause serious injury
or death.

•Tofit the wheel, remove thebrake gripper (1)
removingscrewsTEF M8x35 (2).
•Fitthe wheel,positioning the tongues(A) of the
speedometertransmission into thehousing onthe
wheelhub.
•Fitthe tooth (B) of thespeedometer transmission
betweenthe two anti-rotationpegson the fork.
Make sure the transmission is properly fitted into
the wheel hub.
Make sure the spacer (3) between the wheel hub
and left rod is inside the fork.
•Fitthe wheelpin (4) and washer (5)and secure the
nutM10 (6)
Nut (6) tightening torque: 36,87 ftlb (50 Nm).
•Fitthe brakegripper (1)with thescrews (2).
Screw (2) tightening torque: 19,91 ftlb (27 Nm).
•TightenthetwoscrewsTCEIM6x20(7)ofthewheel
pinterminal to8.85 ftlb (12 Nm).
FITTING THE MIRRORS
Fit the mirrors as follows.
•To fit the right wing mirror position the gasket (1)
marked “DX” and the mirror (2), then tighten with
screw TCEI M 8x35 (3).
Screw (3) tightening torque: 18,44 ftlb (25 Nm)
•Closethe hole inthe mirrorwith the rubberplug (4).
•Do the same for the righthand mirror.
INITIAL BATTERY CHARGING
•Remove the tool kit cover (1) turning the key (2)
clockwise.
•Removethe toolkit carrier (3)and the battery(4).
•Removetheplug(5)from the recharge container(6).
•Fit the container into the battery as shown in the
drawing(seethe battery instructionsinthe recharge
pack).
•Usethe sameplug (5) tostop upbattery holes.
FITTING THE BATTERY
•Makesure the ignition
keyis inthe “ “position.
•Placethe battery into its housing.
•Firstconnect the positive cable (+ red)then thene-
gative(- blue).
•Useaneutralgreaseorvaselineto grease terminals.
•Fitthe toolkit carrier and cover.
CAUTION
CAUTION
Do not tip the vehicle too much, or tip the battery
too much, to avoid electrolyte leaking out.

IMPORTANT
FITTING THE FRONT WHEEL
Beforecarrying out anymaintenance operation or
inspection of the front wheel, if possible hoist the
vehicleonto a solid and level surface withsuitable
equipment.
When disassembling and reassembling the front
wheel, take extra care not to damage the brake
lines, discs or pads.
IMPORTANT Tofitthe frontwheel, you may require a
helper.
