INSTALLATION MANUAL
Full plug and play kit, universal fit for use in
Chrysler vehicles with RA1, RA2, RA3, or RA4 radios.
Required for Install:
1. Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicle with Uconnect 3.0, 5.0, or 8.4” Touch Screen.
2. ARC-CDJPLAYER Installation Kit

2013+ Ram Truck, Viper
2015+ Charger, Challenger, 300
2017+ Pacifica
ARC-CDJPLAYER Kit Contents:
1. ARC-CHRY52R2 T-Harness
2. 5091217AD OEM Remote CD player
3. RAMROD-BRACKET (x2), RAMROD-CASE Universal case and mounting solution
4. PHWS812M(x4), PWHT812(x4) 4 Self drilling screws for mounting on metal, 4 stingers for plastic
5. 24291 (x2) Stand-Off threaded spacers for use in Pacifica installation
6. RAMROD-EXT Remote CD Player Harness – 15 foot
7. 257357C Configurable Module to enable CD Player – Does not require dealer programming
Notice:
**All information provided in this instructional guide is given on an as-is basis. All wires should be verified
and tested for functionality before any connections are made. All wiring connections should be made using
OEM approved wire repair techniques which include, but are not limited to, soldering and heat-shrinking all
connections. When screwing or drilling, verify clearance on opposite side of work surface. Professional
installation is recommended**

Set DIP switches to match the following diagram.
Remove radio and install provided ARC-CHRY52R2 T-Harness. You
will need to remove the 6-to-4 pin jumper from the T-Harness and
replace it with the provided 257357 module.
Connect module and harness before connecting radio.
Install T-Harness behind radio, and push all wiring
and modules back in to dash to allow room for
reinstallation of radio. Route RAMROD-EXT to
desired CD Player mounting location.

For RAM Truck with Center Console only. For all other applications, move to Step 2A
For RAM Truck with center console:
For installation in a RAM Truck equipped
with a center console, use the provided
template for placement of wiring hole. You
will need a 1 1/8” stepped drill bit or hole saw.
Make sure to check clearances behind any surface
before drilling or using mounting screws.
2013+ Dodge Ram with center console.
Remove center console/cup holders, radio
bezel, and radio.
2013+ Dodge Ram with center console: Use
Provided Template to drill hole for wiring
This kit includes a universal mounting solution
for the CD Player. The brackets are universal
and removable. Remove the factory brackets
and use the screws that come with the CD
Player (5091217AD) to attach the provided
brackets to the housing and into the player.

Mount CD Player:
Use the (4) PHWS812M
Screws provided to affix unit
to the plastic console. Pre-
drilling is not required. Do
not use the self-drilling
screws provided, they are
only for use on metal
surfaces. Make sure to check
clearance on opposite side of
console.
2013+ RAM Truck
console mounting:

This kit comes with universal brackets for installation. This player may be mounted
horizontally or vertically. It is recommended that you discuss mounting options with your
customer before performing the installation. The brackets are also reversible for placement
under dash, or in a compartment.
Make sure to check both sides of all surfaces before drilling any holes or
using self-drilling screws.
Example:
RAM Truck Crew-Cab, player mounted under rear seat:
For 2017+ Pacifica mounting instructions skip to Step 2B

Player Preparation:
1. Follow instructions in Step 1 to mount player in custom aluminum enclosure
a. Use screws removed in Step 1 to secure enclosure
on player in front (4) holes.
b. Remaining (2) screws will be used to
secure housing assembly in vehicle.
2. Install included threaded stand-offs in the
rear-most holes of the player through the
enclosure.
Bin Removal:
1. Remove the screw located in the media
hub bezel (3) opening.
2. Open the bin (2), and using a trim stick
remove the media hub bezel.
3. Remove the six screws (2) and drop the
bin (1) down to remove.

Player Installation:
Remove the change tray from the bin, this will no longer be used.
Cut out supplied template along black lines.
Unsnap plastic bin sides to reveal mounting screws, as pictured.
Apply templates and tape
into place.
Follow direction on
templates to drill (2) 1/8”
holes and (1) 1 ¼” hole.
Route wiring through 1/ ¼”
hole and plug into CD
player. May also be done
after installation of player.

Install CD player in opening, aligning threaded
stand-offs with new 1/8” holes.
Use screws removed from player in Step 1 to
secure player in place using 1/8” holes and
threaded stand-offs.
Re-install bin sides, re-install bin in dash, and
route wiring behind radio (see next section for
radio removal).
Leave sufficient slack in wire to allow bin to
open and close without pinching or stretching wire.

Radio Removal and Wiring Installation:
1. With a suitable tool, remove the radio screen
trim bezel (1) and remove the electrical
connectors.
a. For 8.4” RA3/RA4 Radios screen can stay
attached to trim bezels.
b. For 5.0” RA2 Radios, it is recommended
to remove radio from trim bezel.
2. For 8.4” RA3/RA4 radio, proceed to remove the
back end of radio and disconnect main 52-pin
connector.
3. Route wiring from CD player and install T-
Harness behind radio. 257357 module should be
installed on the harness at this point.
4. Re-install radio, screen and bezel in opposite
order, ensuring added wiring and module is securely fasted in dashboard behind radio.
IMPORTANT NOTE: MAKE SURE WIRING IS SECURED AND
CANNOT INTERFERE WITH NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION

Once install is finished, replace all panels and ensure cabling is ran in a way that will not
pinch or damage wiring. “Disc” will become a new source on the customer’s radio.
Radio Programming:
Radio will automatically accept programming within two full power cycles of the vehicle.
If vehicle does not accept programming, please see the following section:
Troubleshooting
Complete this step only if your radio has not accepted programming automatically:
1. Verify DIP switch setting from Step 1.
2. With all doors shut and vehicle powered down, disconnect the negative side of the battery.
a. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), see dealership workshop manual.
3. Leave disconnected for 5 minutes.
4. Once reconnected, power on vehicle, allowing radio to fully power on.
5. Turn vehicle off, open and close driver door.
6. Allow 5 additional minutes for the vehicle to fully “go to sleep”.
7. Turn vehicle on again and “Disc” should be populated under the sources menu.
8. If no “Disc” icon has appeared, repeat steps 4-6 one additional time.
The 257357 module must remain installed in the vehicle for continued
operation of the add-on disc player.
