1.4 Electrical Safety
•The plug of the power tool must fit into the socket. The plug must not be changed in any
way. Do not use adapter plugs together with grounded power tools. Unchanged plugs and
suitable sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
•Avoid physical contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, heaters, stoves and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
•Keep power tools away from rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool increases
the risk of electric shock.
•Do not use the cord to carry or hang the power tool or to unplug the power tool from the
wall outlet. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or
tangled cables increase the risk of electric shock.
•If you use a power tool outdoors, use only extension cords that are suitable for outdoor use.
Using an extension cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
•If operation of the power tool in a humid environment is unavoidable, use a ground fault
circuit interrupter. The use of an earth leakage circuit breaker reduces the risk of electric
shock.
1.5 Personal safety
•Be alert, pay attention to what you are doing and use common sense when working with a
power tool. Do not use a power tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medication. A moment of carelessness while using a power tool can cause serious injury.
•Wear personal protective equipment and always wear safety glasses. Wearing personal
protective equipment, such as a dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, hard hat or hearing
protection, depending on the type and use of the power tool, will reduce the risk of injury.
•Avoid unintentional start-up. Make sure that the power tool is switched off before
connecting it to the power supply, picking it up or carrying it. If you have your finger on the
switch when carrying the power tool or connect the power tool to the power supply while it
is switched on, accidents may occur.
•Remove adjustment tools or wrenches before turning on the power tool. A tool or wrench
that is in a rotating part of the unit may cause injury.
•Avoid abnormal posture. Ensure a secure stand and maintain balance at all times. This will
help you to control the power tool in unexpected situations.
•Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewelry or long hair can be caught by moving parts.
•If dust extraction and collection devices can be fitted, ensure that they are connected and
used correctly. Using a dust extraction system can reduce dust hazards.
1.6 Use and Care of the electric tool
•Do not overload the device. Use the designated power tool for your work. With the
appropriate power tool you will work better and safer in the specified power range.
•Do not use a power tool whose switch is defective. A power tool that can no longer be
switched on or off is dangerous and must be repaired.
•Disconnect the plug from the socket before adjusting the unit, changing accessories or
putting the unit away. This precaution prevents the power tool from starting accidentally.
•Keep unused power tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons to use the
appliance who are not familiar with it or who have not read these instructions. Power tools
are dangerous if they are used by inexperienced persons.
•Carefully maintain power tools. Check that moving parts function properly and do not jam,
that parts are not broken or damaged in such a way that the function of the power tool is
impaired. Have damaged parts repaired before using the power tool. Many accidents are

User’s manual –AREBOS Polisher
5
caused by poorly maintained power tools.
•Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to jam and are easier to handle.
•Use power tools, accessories, insert tools, etc. according to these instructions. Take into
account the working conditions and the task to be performed. The use of power tools for
applications other than those intended can lead to dangerous situations.
•Have your power tool repaired only by qualified personnel and only with original spare parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
2. Security Instructions for all applications
2.1 Warnings for polishing
•This power tool is to be used as a polisher. Follow all warnings, instructions, illustrations and
data supplied with the tool. Failure to observe the following instructions may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
•This power tool is not suitable for sanding, sandpaper grinding, working with wire brushes,
cutting. Uses for which the power tool is not intended may cause hazards and injuries.
•Do not use any accessories not specifically designed and recommended by the manufacturer
for this power tool. Just because you can attach the accessories to your power tool does not
guarantee safe use.
•The permissible speed of the power tool must be at least as high as the maximum speed
indicated on the power tool. Accessories that rotate faster than allowed may be destroyed.
•The outer diameter and thickness of the insert tool must be as specified on your power tool.
Incorrectly dimensioned insert tools cannot be adequately shielded or inspected.
•Grinding wheels, flanges, grinding discs or other accessories must fit exactly on the grinding
spindle of your power tool. Insert tools that do not fit exactly on the power tool's grinding
spindle will rotate unevenly, vibrate heavily, and can cause loss of control.
•Do not use damaged insert tools. Before each use, check insert tools such as grinding wheels
for chipping and cracks, grinding discs for cracks, wear or heavy wear, wire brushes for loose
or broken wires. If the power tool or insert tool falls down, check for damage or use an
undamaged insert tool. When you have checked and used the insert tool, keep yourself and
nearby people out of the out of the plane of the rotating insert tool and run the machine at
maximum speed for one minute. Damaged insert tools usually break during this test period.
•Wear personal protective equipment. Depending on the application, use full face protection,
eye protection or safety goggles. Where appropriate, wear a dust mask, hearing protection,
protective gloves or special apron that keeps small abrasive and material particles away from
you. Eyes should be protected from flying foreign objects that are generated during various
applications. Dust or respirator masks must filter the dust generated during use. If you are
exposed to loud noise for a long time, you may suffer hearing loss.
•Keep other people at a safe distance from your work area. Everyone who enters the work
area must wear personal protective equipment. Fragments of the workpiece or broken
operating tools can fly away and cause injury even outside the direct work area.
•Only hold the unit by its insulated handle surfaces when carrying out work where the
insertion tool may hit concealed power lines or its own power cord. Contact with a live wire
can also energize metal parts of the device and cause an electric shock.
•Keep the power cord away from rotating insert tools. If you lose control of the unit, the
power cord may be cut or caught and your hand or arm may be caught in the rotating insert
tool.
•Never put the power tool down until the insertion tool has come to a complete stop. The

User’s manual –AREBOS Polisher
6
rotating insert tool may come into contact with the tray surface, causing you to lose control
of the power tool.
•Do not leave the power tool running while carrying it. Your clothing may be caught by
accidental contact with the rotating insert tool, and the insert tool may drill into your body.
•Clean the ventilation slots of your power tool regularly. The motor fan draws dust into the
housing, and a large accumulation of metal dust can cause electrical hazards.
•Do not use the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks can ignite these materials.
•Do not use power tools that require liquid coolant. The use of water or other liquid coolants
can cause electric shock.
2.2 Kickback and corresponding warnings
•Kickback is the sudden reaction caused by a hooked or blocked rotating insert tool, such as a
grinding wheel, grinding disc, wire brush, etc. Hooking or blocking leads to an abrupt stop of
the rotating insert tool. This accelerates an uncontrolled power tool against the direction of
rotation of the insert tool at the point of jamming.
•If, for example, a grinding wheel gets stuck or jammed in the workpiece, the edge of the
grinding wheel plunging into the workpiece can get caught, causing the grinding wheel to
break off or kick back. The grinding wheel then moves towards or away from the operator,
depending on the direction of rotation of the wheel at the blocking point. Grinding wheels
can also break in this process.
•A kickback is the result of incorrect or faulty use of the power tool. It can be prevented by
suitable precautions as described below.
a) Hold the power tool firmly and bring your body and arms into a position where you can
absorb the kickback forces. Always use the supplementary handle, if available, to have
the greatest possible control over kick-back forces or reaction moments during start-up.
The operator can control the kick-back and reaction forces by taking appropriate
precautions.
b) Never place your hand near rotating insert tools. The insertion tool can move over your
hand as you kick back.
c) Use your body to avoid the area where the power tool moves in case of a kickback
will. The kickback drives the power tool in the direction opposite to the movement of the
grinding wheel at the blocking point.
d) Work particularly carefully around corners, sharp edges, etc. Prevent that rebound and
clamp insert tools from the workpiece. The rotating insert tool tends to jam at corners,
sharp edges or when it bounces. This causes a Loss of control or setback.
e) Do not use a chain or toothed saw blade. Such tools often cause a kickback or loss of
control of the power tool.
2.3 Special Safety for Polishing
•Do not allow loose parts of the polishing hood, especially fastening cords. Stow away or
shorten the fastening cords. Loose, rotating attachment cords can cause your fingers or get
caught in the workpiece.
•Never hold the workpiece to be machined in your hand or above your leg. Secure the
workpiece on a stable holder. It is important to fasten the workpiece well in order to avoid
the danger of minimize physical contact or loss of control.
•Support large workpieces to reduce the risk of distortion or breakage. Large workpieces can
bend under their own weight and must therefore be supported in a suitable manner.
•Only work with materials that are described in these instructions and are approved for this
device. Other materials can lead to additional dangers for your health or the environment.
