Introduction
Thankyoufor choosingArgon Audio loudspeakers,we hope
they willbringyoumanyyearsofenjoyment.
Pleasereadthismanualfullybeforeunpackingandinstalling
theproduct.
Carton contents
Wehaveduringproductionandpackingcarefullycheckedand
inspectedtheseloudspeakers.
Afterunpackingpleasecheckfor anydamagefromtransport.
Werecommendthatyoukeepthe originalcartonboxand
packingmaterialfor anyfutureshipping.
In the cartonbox you will find:

Loudspeaker installation
Thespeakersarebestusedwiththetweetersapproximately
atearlevelwhenseated. There is a bracket hole on the
back of the C1. This can be usedfor mounting the C1
flat on a wall.
Ifyouplacetheloudspeakerson ashelfor furnitureunit, the
enclosedadhesivepadsmaybe attachedunderthecabinet
andwillprotectfromunwanted resonancesandfromscratches.
Loudspeaker positioning
Variationsin placementofyourloudspeakerscanproduce
dramaticdifferencesin thewaymusicsounds.No listening
roomsarethe sameandthereforewe encourageyoutospend
sometimeexperimentingwithwhichplacementsworkbestin
yourlisteningroom.Trustyourearsandbe willingtoexperiment
freely.Youcanstartwithourbasicrecommendations.
Pleasetry toensurethattheroomssurroundingsofeach
loudspeakerleftandrightaresimilarin acoustic character.
Forexample,ifoneloudspeakerisplacedon barewallswhile
the otherisplacedclosetosoft furnituresandcurtains,both
theoverallsoundqualityandthe stereoimagearelikelytobe
compromised.
Becausebookshelvesareusuallylocatedclosetothe wall,
placementon bookshelveswilloftenprovidearicher,more
full-bodiedsound. Inotherwords;youwillgetmoreBass.
Ontheotherhand,ifyouplacethespeakersfree-standing
YouwillgetlessBass butaclearersound.
Tobeginwith,the speakersshouldbepositionedbetween
1.5mand3mapartattwo cornersofan equilateraltriangle
completed by the listeningareaatthe thirdcorner.See fig.1
TheArgonC1isdesignedtoplaysingle-standing, if theroom
isnot toobig.
Inbiggerroomsasubwooferwillneedtobeadded
inordertogetoptimalsound.

ArgonC1canbe usedasfrontchannelsin asurround
soundhometheatre system.
Positioningthe frontloudspeakerswithinapproximately1metre
ofthe sidesofyourTVwillcreatethebestsoundimagein scale
withthe visualimage.The loudspeakers’heightshouldideally
bebetweenthe centre andtop ofthe screen.
IfArgonC1aretobe usedfor reproducingthe surround
channelsin amultichannelhometheatre system,we suggest
youplacethemasillustrated inFigures2to4dependingon the
numberofchannels.
Connecting your loudspeakers
Werecommendthatyoureadthe manualofyouramplifieror
av-receivercarefullybeforeconnectingyourloudspeakers.
Pleaseswitchoffallequipmentwhenconnectingyour
loudspeakers.
Thebindingposts onthe terminalacceptswireup toØ4mmor
cableswithbananaplugs.
Makesurethatpositiveterminalbindingpostson the speaker
(marked+andcolouredred)areconnected tothepositive
outputterminalbindingpostson the amplifierandthatthe
negativeterminalson the speaker(marked–andcoloured
black)areconnected tothe negativeoutputterminalon the
amplifier.Seefig 5.

Running-in period
Werecommendarunning-intimeofyournewArgon C1
loudspeakersofapproximately15-20hoursatnormal
listeninglevelbeforeyoudecideonthefinalpositioningof the
loudspeakers.Duringtherunning-intimethedriveunitswill
settleinandperformasintended.
Care and cleaning
Wedon’trecommenduseofanysolventsorcleanerson
Argon C1cabinets, thecabinetsurfaceusuallyonly
requiresdustingorcleaningwithadampsoft cloth(only
usecoldcleanwater).
Thegrillefabricmaybecleanedwithanormalclothesbrushor
vacuumedcarefullywiththegrilledetachedfromthecabinet.
Avoidtouchingthedriveunits,especiallythetweeter,as
damagemayresult.
Environmental information
Argon C1loudspeakerscomplywithinternationaldirectives
ontheRestrictionofHazardousSubstances(RoHS)in
electricalandelectronicequipmentandthedisposalofWaste
ElectricalandElectronicEquipment(WEEE)-thecrossedbin
symbolindicatescomplianceandthat theproductsmustbe
appropriatelyrecycledorprocessedinaccordancewiththese
directives.
