QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE - FUNCTIONS
Tilt function
Use Reclined and Sit button to position the patient in upright or reclined position.
It only activates the leading ceiling lift when adjusting the patient’s position. Regardless of
which patient positioning button is pressed, only the “foot-end” spreader bar will rise or
lower.

Battery Charge Level
Enhanced Charging System (ECS) Indicator
Displayed when charging units with ECS.
Maintenance Required (Wrench symbol with a letter character)
Shows for 7 seconds with 2 beeps when the lift goes from sleep mode and flashes each 5
seconds to draw user's attention.
Contact your Arjo service centre for maintenance.
Over Duty Cycle
Flashes when the lift is used for a long period without allowing it to cool down.
The overheat protection is activated when a function exceeds its duty cycle, is becomes disabled
while all other functions remain active.
The red light stays on during the cooling period and a single beep is heard.
The symbol disapears when the function has cooled down and it is ready for use again.
General Malfunction (Warning symbol with a numeric character)
Flashes when the lift encounters a malfunction.
The lift needs to be inspected or repaired by a qualified service technician.
The red light stays on and a single beep is heard.
Overweight
Flashes when a transfer is attempted with a load exceeding the lift's capacity.
The red light stays on with 4 rapid beeps until the patient is lowered.
The function is disabled while all other functions remain active.

Dual and Single mode
Emergency brake
During an e.g. mechanical failure, the ceiling lift is equipped with an automated brake system which blocks
the lowering function. Note: the emergency lowering mechanism will not be functional. Initiate emergency
procedures to lower and release patient from the ceiling lift.
The Maxi Sky 2 Plus ceiling lift can be set to operate either in Dual or Single Mode.
Dual Mode is for the bariatric patient, Single Mode is for non-bariatric patients.
The use of Single Mode or Dual Mode is based on the patient's weight.
Single Mode
Patient weighing up to 159 kg (350 lb)
Dual Mode
Patient weighing from 159 to 454 kg (350 - 1000 lb)
The emergency stop disables the ceiling lifts completely.
Pull either one of the red cords, both ceiling lifts stops all activity
and their displays and indicators shuts off.
A small red plunger comes out of the casing.
To Reactivate the Ceiling Lift
Push up both red plungers.
The ceiling lift is ready to use when either the battery symbol or
the ECS symbol appears on the display.

Emergency lowering mechanism

Insert the hex key deep into the axle. Turn the
hex key counter-clockwise to slowly lower the
patient. Do this for both ceiling lifts. Once the
patient is lowered and secured within a chair,
bed or wheelchair, call a qualified technician
to inspect the ceiling lift.
The emergency lowering mechanism provides a
safe way of getting the patient down onto a chair,
bed or wheelchair. Only used in case of an
emergency.
Emergency Lowering Procedure
Pull on either one of the emergency stop cords.
Open the small doors to gain access to
each ceiling lift's lowering mechanism.
Pull out the 8 mm hex keys.
