2.1 Safety related hazards and behaviour
The following signs have to be placed or are placed on the device or its components:

Do not look into the telescope when the telescope is
aiming on a bright object. The bright light might harm your

Keep all the signs and hints located on the device in an impeccable and legible condition.

3Power supply
Inside the device electronics cabinet is a remote power switch.
With the remote power switch, you can switch on and off the device’s power supplies either with the
buttons on the device or via a web interface.
The following power ports of the remote power switch have to be switched on for the device to operate.

Always shut down Windows properly on the TCU before switching off the power supply to
avoid damaging the operating system.

You can connect PC to the power switch. Use the free ports and the provided empty
connectors.

Open the device cabinet.
For operating the device, you need to switch on the ports 1, 2 and 8. By pressing the select button (1) you
can choose which port you want to switch. The LEDs (3) show which port is currently selected. Press and
hold the ok (2) button to switch on the currently active port. The led changes from red to green when the
power port is switched on.

4.1 Using the web interface of the remote power switch
You can also control the remote power switch by accessing it via your web browser. Enter the IP-address of
the remote power switch into the address bar of your browser.
If you don’t know the IP-address you find it with the tool GBLconfig (installed on the TCU or the USER PC).

The Software
automatically searches for
your remote power switch

as Expert Power Control
8211 –v4.2 –EPC-8211.
Double-click on the device
and your browser will
connect automatically to
the remote power switch.

Only for devices with installed TCU:
When the power ports ***main,
***aux and ***TCU are switched on,
the DDM is powered and ready for
operation.
The telescope control unit (TCU) boots
automatically.
Devices without installed TCU:
When the power ports ***main and
*** aux are switched on, the device is
powered and ready for operation.

Only for devices with installed TCU: Power supply for telescope control unit (TCU);
When power port 8 is switched on, the telescope control unit (TCU) boots automatically.
Free ports can be used for additional power supplies as cameras or other equipment considering the
technical limitations of the remote power switch.
For configuring the TCP/IP access of the power switch, consult the device’s
user’s manual.

5.1 Main menu on the device
Press 2x Enter (1);
Main Menu;
Press Enter (1) to open the next menu;
Press Select (2) to switch to the next line;
5.2 Get IP-address
DHCP is enabled by factory default. If the PDU does not receive an IP address from the network's DHCP
server, it will default to 192.168.20.177.
Follow the instruction to get the IP-address.
5.3 Factory reset
Follow the instruction to reset the device.

5.4 Web interface
Enter the IP address in the browser, e.g.,
192.168.43.52 (figure above);
Enter the Name;
Enter the Password;
If you receive a device that has
been commissioned by ASA, the
following settings apply:
Name: admin
Password: admin123456!a
The default:
Name: cyber
Password is cyber;

memberarea on the ASA homepage.
