Please don’t unplug Xinc FM while data is transferring from the
computer, otherwise the data may be lost.
Please ensure that Xinc FM has enough space to save the new
recorded files before recording.
Please avoid exposing the Xinc FM to excessive sunlight or dust.
Please avoid dropping the unit, or any heavy impact.
Don’t allow liquid or foreign objects into Xinc FM.
Don’t use chemicals, such as gasoline or other dilutents, upon Xinc
FM’s surface.
Wipe the Xinc FM with a dry, soft cloth to keep clean.
Please disconnect Xinc FM from the computer before maintenances or
cleaning.
Upon first use of the unit, please fully charge and discharge the battery
about 2 3 times to ensure maximum battery life and power capacity.
Please do not dispose the unit into fire, as this could lead to the battery
exploding.
Please do not disassemble any part of the unit. Any unauthorized
disassembling will cause termination of Astone official warranty.
The folders named as “RECORDER”, “PHOTO”, “MOVIE”, “EBOOK”
and “MUSIC” are system folders for recorded file, picture, video files,
eBook and track.
“F***.WAV” / “V***.WAV” are auto-generated default titles for FM and
MIC recorded files. “***” Presents numbers as 0~9.
Please backup files and data when necessary.

Xinc FM Utilities includes Xinc FM driver (for users of Windows 98SE) and Xinc FM
Update Tool (Astone MP3 Firmware Download).
The installation steps for Xinc FM Utilites are as follows:
You can download the Utilities from www.astone.com.au for installation.
Double click the installation file “Setup.exe”, the system will install Xinc FM
Utilities automatically.
The tool will appear in “Programs” of “Start” after being installed.
Xinc FM can be connected with the computer through USB cable. Connect standard
port of USB cable to the computer, mini port to Xinc FM.
Boot your computer and connect Xinc FM to the computer.
The screen of Xinc FM will display “READY” after being connected.
Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP/Server 2003: Double click “My Computer”, you
will find a new icon named “Removable Disk” (fig.2.1), representing Xinc FM.
Mac OS 10.2 or above (Mac OS 10.3.2 e.g.): A new icon named “NO_NAME”
(fig.2.2) will appear on the desktop of you computer, representing Xinc FM.
Linux 2.4.2 or above: Enter the system by user ID “root” and input the
command “mount/dev/sda/mnt”. This command is to create a directory where
Xinc FM will be mounted.

Please refer to the following steps to unplug Xinc FM:

Note: “sda” is an unfixed input item, ple as e make rele va nt
changes according to Linux operating discipline.

Then you can copy, delete or edit data, just as on a traditional hard disk. While
transferring data from Xinc FM to the computer, the screen of Xinc FM displays
“READING”, while transferring data from the computer to Xinc FM, the screen
of Xinc FM displays “WRITING”.
Windows 98SE: Unplug Xinc FM from USB port of the computer while the
screen of Xinc FM prompts “READY”.
Windows Me/2000/XP/Server 2003 (Windows 2000 e.g.): Click the icon
at the taskbar, then click the “Stop USB Mass Storage Device - Driver” (fig.2.3),
and click “OK” button in the pop-up window. “The ‘USB Mass Storage Device’
device can now be safely removed from the system” (fig.2.4), then you can
disconnect Xinc FM from the computer safely.
Mac OS 10.2 or above (Mac OS 10.3.2 e.g.):Select the icon representing
Xinc FM, click “File”, select “Exit NO NAME”, then unplug Xinc FM from the
computer.
Linux 2.4.2 or above:Input the command “umout/mnt” before unplugging
Xinc FM. The “/mnt” directory corresponds with the “/mnt” mentioned above.
Tips: Please drag Xinc FM icon into Trash, then unplug it from the
computer.

The battery is full.
The battery is exhausted.
Charge: You can charge the battery of Xinc FM by connecting it with the
computer through USB cable, or connecting it with the cigarette-lighter of a
car through the car adaptor. When Xinc FM is charging through car adaptor,
Xinc FM will support all operations mentioned in “Usage of Xinc FM” (Except
for data transferring between Xinc FM and the computer).
Intelli-charge: If the voltage is less than 3.7V, you can charge the battery of
Xinc FM by connecting it with the computer, and vice-versa, you can charge
the battery by locking [HOLD] switch for intelli-charge.
Usage of charging by cigarette-lighter of car:
Please refer to fig.3.1 to connect Xinc FM with the cigarette-lighter of car.
Astone Holdings Pty Ltd. is not responsible for any loss arising from of
cigarette-lighter of car.
To power on Xinc FM, please hold button, Xinc FM will enter main menu
automatically.
To power off Xinc FM, please hold button in playing/pausing/stop status (except
on recording/recording pause status) after power-on.

Firmware Update
1Please uninstall “Astone MP3” in you computer first, then double click the
download file “Setup.exe” – it will install new utilities automatically.
Run “Start -> Programs -> Astone MP3 -> Astone MP3 Firmware Download”,
click “Start” button in the “Astone MP3 Firmware Download” window to begin
update. It will display “Complete” after finishing, click “Close” button (fig.3.2),
then unplug Xinc FM from the computer to finish.
You can click the check box of “Format Data Area” in the window, click “Yes”
button on the question bar (fig3.3) to confirm. Xinc FM will delete all data saved
in Xinc FM while formatting. Please backup the data first if necessary!
Click “Start” button to begin format. The window will display “Complete” after
finishing, click “Close” button to finish.

When Xinc FM is in non-USB mode, Xinc FM will power-off automatically if there is
no operation during the time, which is set in “Setup -> Power Set”. (Please refer to
“Setup” for details.)
In case Xinc FM doesn’t respond to any operation, poke the “RESET Hole” to power
off. You need to power-on Xinc FM again to complete the action. The settings of
Xinc FM will return to the last effective settings before restarting, and all files saved
in Xinc FM may be lost.
You can download the latest update utilities from our website www.astone.com.au
to update Xinc FM. The steps are as follows:
This function is used to prevent buttons from being operated accidentally. To lock
all buttons please simply lock [HOLD] switch, a lock icon will appear on the screen,
and no button will be able to operate. To release the lock status, please unlock
[HOLD] switch. If you attempt to power-on while [HOLD] switch is locked, Xinc FM
will power-off automatically shortly after prompting “Key Locked”. Please unlock
[HOLD] switch, then try again.

You can select Music, Movie, Photo, eBook, FM, Recorder, File, and Setup in main
menu. The operations and settings would be introduced as the following.

A ) Play/Pause/Stop:

A-B Repeat: Please hold [BACK/A-B] button twice to decide A (start) spot and
B (end) spot while in playing status, Xinc FM would play the track between A
and B repeatedly. Hold [BACK/A-B] button again to exit A-B repeat.
Lyric Viewer: Xinc FM will automatically search the lyric file (LRC format, you
can make it by yourself, download from Internet, etc.).
Copy the track and the lyric file (LRC format) into the same folder.
Make sure the name of the lyric file is the same as the name of the track,
otherwise the lyric cannot be displayed.
Lyric will be shown synchronously in the “Lyric Viewer” area of the
screen during playing.
Volume: Press [Volume+/-] button to turn up/down the volume.
Switching EQ: Press [MODE/FM OUT] button to switch EQ.

Movie
Press [ ] button to select Movie in main menu, and press [ ] button to enter.

1) Double click the file “video2smv.exe”;
2) Press the icon beside “Input” to choose the file you want to convert.

MTV convert tool can convert video files (AVI, MPG, WMV files) into SMV files that
Xinc FM supports, so you can play the video files in Xinc FM anytime. You can
download the MTV convert tool from our website www.astone.com.au. The
converting steps are as follows:

If you don’t want to convert the whole file, you can select “Start” or “End” check
box in “Selection” option, and drag the scroll bar to select the appropiate piece
you want to convert.
Press “Convert” button to start.
Press “Quit” button to finish.
Please make sure that you have installed DirectX 8.0 or above
before conversion.

After zooming in, press [MODE/FM OUT] button to switch to shift up/down
mode, press [Volume+/-] button to shift up/down.

Store: Press button to save channel after automatic/manual scanning,
the screen will display “Saved”.

switch channel by pressing [ ] button if there is more than one channel
saved, and press [Volume+/-] button to turn up/down the volume.

Xinc FM will save the searched channels automatically, and the screen will
display “Auto Scanning...”.
Note: Xinc FM will scan and save channel(s) automatically when you
enter FM menu for the first time. It is suggested you connect the
earphones with Xinc FM for better scanning.
Press [MODE/FM OUT] button to switch among Radio, Scan, Store, Recording
and Return under FM menu. The operations are as the following:

Note: Under “INTRO” mode, Xinc FM will play the first ten seconds of each track.
Xinc FM will power-off automatically if there is no operation during the time set,
either 2MIN, 5MIN, 10MIN and Disable. “Disable” represents that Xinc FM can
not be powered off automatically.
There are 6 equalizer modes: NORMAL (NOR), ROCK (ROCK), JAZZ (JAZ),
CLASSIC (CLA), POP ( POP), BASS (DBB).
There are 6 play modes: NORMAL, REPEAT ONE, REPEAT ALL, SHUFFLE,
SHU&REP, INTRO.
Xinc FM will turn off screen if there is no operation within the time set, either 5SEC,
10SEC, 20SEC, 30SEC, 40SEC, 50SEC and Disable. “Disable” represents that
the screen can’t turn off. Press any button to exit screen saver.
To browse the system information, which includes company, name and type
of product, hardware and firmware version, available and total capacity of
flash, press [BACK/A-B] button to return to “Settings” menu.

Xinc FM can transmit music to FM radio.
Turn on the FM radio of car, please select an FM frequency between
87.5MHz ~ 108MHz. (Please choose a frequency without FM program for
better effect.)
Connect the earphone to Xinc FM, hold [MODE/FM OUT] button to enter
transmitting status.
Press [Volume+/-] button to change the frequency till the transmitting
frequency of Xinc FM is the same as the frequency of FM radio of car.
Now you can enjoy the music in Xinc FM through FM radio of car.
Please refer to “Music” for details, except for turn up/down the volume,
please turn up/down the volume through the car stereo.
The earphone can be used as antenna during FM transmitting.
