POWER SUPPLY PRECAUTIONS:
1. Always make sure to remove batteries before
connecting your V8 to its power a aptor. If two sources of
power are use simultaneously, the batteries might leak
an amage the microphone. This will void the warranty.
2. Use only the A aptor supplie in your V8 package. If
this is lost or amage , replace only with an A aptor
supplie by The Astra Group, Inc. or by authorize Xtreme
Magic Sing ealers. The plug of other a aptors may fit,
but the electrical specifications may be ifferent an
therefore may amage the precise electronics of your V8
unit.
3. Always turn off the V8 before removing or a ing song
chips.
4. Turn off your V8 before unplugging the power a aptor.
5. Always remove batteries when not using the V8
microphone.
CLEANING AND HANDLING:
6. When cleaning, use a soft cloth. Dampen with water if
nee e . Never use alcohol or chemical solutions.
7. Do not rop your V8 or subject it to heavy
impact.
8. Do not apply pressure on the LCD.
9. Do not use sharp objects (e.g., long fingernails, ball
pens) to press on the keypa .
10. Do not isassemble the microphone. This will void
the warranty.
11. Do not pull any rubber part on the cable. To remove
the cable, push own only the metal tab.
STORAGE:
12. Avoi storing in irect sunlight, in places with high
temperature, or in moist areas.
13. When transporting your V8 in a vehicle, keep it with
you in the air con itione interior. If your unit was
transporte in the heate trunk of a vehicle, or was left in a
car un er the sun for some time, allow the microphone to
cool off before using. This will prevent it from overheating
while in operation.

Once you have set up your microphone as shown on
pages 5 to 7, you are rea y to use its versatility an
powerful capabilities by using its controls.
Following is a step-by-step gui e to complete control
over each of the functions of Version 8, as well as of
its sub-microphone in case you have eci e to get
one as well.
A. TURNING THE MICROPHONE ON/OFF
Main Microphone: Press to turn On or Off.
Sub-microphone: Press + to turn sub-
mic On or Off.
(When in Configuration Mode, press for
this function.)

C. SELECTING SONGS
Direct Access: Press {number of song} + .

Reserving: Press {number of song} +
consecutively to select as many as 20 songs that
you want to play in sequence. Press to start .
(The songs will play in the sequence you entered
them. While 20 songs can be programmed, only
10 titles at a time will be displayed.)
Continuous Play: Press + to play the
songs continuously an consecutively accor ing
to their numbere sequence.
Random Play: Press + while on
stan by. The mic will play songs at ran om.
(This function will not work while a song is
being played.)

D. PAUSING/RESUMING
Press + to pause song playback without
returning to stan by mo e. Press again to
resume playback of the rest of the song.
E. REPEATING A SONG SECTION

G. USING MIC’s RECORD/PLAYBAC
CAPABILITIES
Recording. Press + to start recor ing.
Press to stop.
Playing Back. Press to start playback.
Press to stop.
(NOTE: The mic’s built-in recording function is
limited to about 9 minutes of recording. After
exiting from Record/ layback mode, the
recorded material is automatically erased. For
extended recording of up to 50 minutes, and to
keep the recording from being automatically
erased, an optional RECORDING ACK must
be used. After a recording pack is inserted, your
recording will automatically be saved to the
recording pack instead of it being saved to the
mic’s built-in memory. (Please see page 31or
RECORDING ACK installation.)

H. PLACING YOUR OWN VIDEO IMAGES
AS BAC GROUND
(USING EXTERNAL VIDEO INPUT)
After installing the camcorder, DVD, digital
camera*, or another external device that will feed
your preferred moving or still video images (as
shown on page 6), you can replace the V8’s built-in
background pictures using its External Vi eo
function as follows:
Press + + to start the transmission
from the external evice.
Press to stop the transmission. The built-
in picture backgroun s will again be isplaye .
If starting from the V8’s Stan by mo e, you can
simply Press to start transmission.
*The automatic frame review function of digital
still cameras must be on in order to show a
series of images. Otherwise, only one frame
will be transmitted.

Display Score After Singing:
Press + to turn the score check function
On or Off an to select scoring stan ar to level
of Amateur, rofessional or Star.

Display Score During Singing (Real Time):
Press + + + to turn on or off
the isplay of your real time score while singing.
J. CONTEST
Press + to select competition between
two teams with up to three singing members
each.
Press to begin competition with the V8
selecting songs at ran om.

Lyric Cue. Press + + + to turn
on or off a visual gui e to help you time your
singing of the lyrics. Press to exit.
Lyric Line Display. Press + + +
to set 2 or 3 lyric lines to be isplaye in
your TV screen. Press to exit.
Lyric Position. Press + + + to
position the lyrics on the left, center or right si e
of the TV screen. Press to exit.
Menu Language. Press + + +
to select English or another language for the
menus, options an other on-screen instructions.
Press to exit.
Saving Reserved Song List. Press + +
+ to save an later recover the list of
songs that you reserve . Even if the V8 is turne
off, the reserve songs will remain an be
isplaye when you turn it on again. Press to
exit.
Listening to Own Voice. Connect the neck
phone supplie with your V8 to the unit’s neck
phone jack. This will allow you to listen more
closely to your own voice in epen ently of the
TV or other au io speakers. The soun through
the TV or other speaker will not be affecte
unless you turn own the volume or use a muting
control of your TV or au io playback system.
Connecting to a PC. Connect your V8 to a
computer via its USB Port an the USB Cable
supplie with your unit. Doing this will enable
you to o the following:
1. Copy to your PC the songs that you have
recor e on to a Recor ing Pack with
your V8.
2. Play your recor e songs from your PC.
