Seamless Cross-Platform File Sharing
ASUSTOR NAS devices provide seamless cross-platform le
sharing, allowing you to easily connect to your NAS device
no matter if you are using Windows, Mac OS, or Unix-like
operating systems. The transfer protocols that you may
use to connect to an ASUSTOR NAS device are as follows:
Windows: CIFS/SMB, FTP and WebDAV
Mac OS X: AFP, SMB, NFS, FTP and WebDAV
Linux: NFS, SMB, FTP and WebDAV
Additionally, ASUSTOR NAS devices feature our Network
Recycle Bin. Any les you delete will be moved to the
Recycle Bin, allowing you to restore any accidentally
deleted les. Transfer protocols supported by the Recycle
Bin include: CIFS/SMB, AFP, FTP and File Explorer.

An Intel Celeron 2.41GHz dual-core processor and 1GB
DDR3L memory, provide premium, energy ecient processing
power. With read/write speeds of up to 112 MB/s, the AS50
series’excellent performance is sure to satisfy your storage
application needs.Furthermore, when AS50 series devices
need more computing power, they can increase the CPU
computing power from the original 2.41 GHz to 2.58 GHz,
providing a smooth and seamless experience.

Eortlessly upgrade memory
Depending on your usage preferences, you can decide
whether or not you want to upgrade memory. AS50/51
devices provide users with the ability to exibly upgrade
memory so there is no need to worry about the memory
before you purchasing the device. When upgrading memory,
you simply need to remove the cover of the NAS to do it
(There are 2 expansion memory slots in total. Memory can
be expanded up to a maximum of 8GB.), letting you easily
improve system performance and allowing your NAS to
simultaneously run more Apps.

Rsync is an application originally developed for UNIX that is usually used for backup and sync between two computers. By
providing block level replication, Rsync is able to oer incremental backup. Incremental backup allows for successive backup
jobs (after your rst backup job) to only copy data that has changed since your last backup job. Rsync is suitable for use with les
and data that are always changing. It lets you cut down on backup time while signicantly reducing bandwidth usage.

Mission Mode
Never again worry about your critical backup jobs stopping or
failing to complete because your ASUSTOR NAS won't stop

a busy server on the other end. For Rsync, FTP, external and
cloud backups, ASUSTOR’s Mission Mode allows you to
congure the number of connection attempts and time
interval for connection attempts, ensuring for the successful

NAS hard disks on the go
The MyArchive function allows you to use hard disks as
removable storage archives. Plug in an archive when you
need it and swap it out for a dierent archive when you

Network Defender
ADM Defender's Network Defender function protects you
from malicious attacks and prevents hackers from trying to
access your NAS. Any client IP addresses with too many
unsuccessful login attempts to your NAS within a specied
time period will be blocked by Network Defender.
Data Archive
Plug & Play Data Access
Secure connections – VPN
ASUSTOR NAS supports VPN connections giving you secure access and exible deployment options. Your NAS is able to act as
a VPN client which can then connect to VPN servers via PPTP or OpenVPN protocols, allowing you to gain access to dierent
virtual private networks. ASUSTOR NAS also supports the creation of multiple VPN connection proles allowing you to easily
switch connections between dierent VPN networks.

After connecting an external optical drive (CD, DVD, Blu-ray) to your NAS via USB, you can use File Explorer to directly access any
les that you have backed up to optical media and even transfer les from your optical media to your NAS via drag and drop for
future access.
Note:
This function only provides data access and does not support the audio and video playback of optical media.
Certain optical drives will require additional power in order to operate properly. If you nd that your optical drive is not spinning
or reading correctly, please use a USB Y-cable to add additional power.

Folder-based AES 256-bit Encryption

NAS oers folder based military grade AES 256-bit encryption,
