Than you for purchasing this Atomic Kira K15 active subwoofer. With decades of experience in design and

This unit has been designed and manufactured to the highest of standards so you can be assured you have
made a good investment.
For your safety and to ensure you ma e full use of all the features, please ma e sure you read this manual in full.
Product Description:
A very powerful active subwoofer delivering a massive 1500 watts of RMS power. The Kira K15 has a bespo e
15” driver and inbuilt 1500-watt Class D amplifier. The internal electronic crossover and a phase reverse
switch, ma e this a completely selfcontained subwoofer cabinet. It is ideally suited to wor with the K12
Cabinets, but will be very effective as part of most large PA systems.

• Turn off this active spea er when not in use.
• This spea er is not waterproof and should not be used outside or in wet conditions.
• In the event of any liquid entering the housing, unplug immediately & contact a qualified engineer.
• Do not attempt to modify this unit.
• Always install the unit in a suitable location where no injury can occur from the spea er falling.
• Chec this unit matches the mains voltage and frequency before plugging it in to your mains soc et.
• Should you experience any malfunction or damage to the mains cable, disconnect from the mains supply
immediately and consult a qualified engineer or replace the cable with a new one.
• All parts should be replaced with genuine spare parts and repairs carried out by a qualified engineer.
• Do not place near sources of heat or ignition.
• Chec your AC wall soc et will ta e the power you are applying to avoid overloading the mains supply.
• No na ed flame i.e. candle should be placed on top of this appliance
Protection from Electric Shoc :
• Only connect this unit to a mains soc et with suitable trip and RCD protection.
• To disconnect from the mains soc et, always remove by the mains plug or IEC connector. Do not attempt to
remove by pulling the mains cable.
• Disconnect the unit from the mains supply before cleaning. Cleaning should be carried out with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not expose this unit to any liquids.
• Do not operate near exposed water or in high humidity.
• Choose a suitable route for mains cables and audio cables, ensuring trip hazards are avoided and any cables
are not at ris of being crushed.

• Do not open this unit to service. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Any servicing or repairs should
be carried out by a qualified engineer only. Any attempt to service or adapt this unit will leave your
warranty void and could result in serious malfunction or injury.
• When the power switch is off, this unit is not completely disconnected from the mains.
Contents & Unpac ing:
Before beginning your initial setup chec the unit has not been damaged in transit. In the event there is
damage to the housing, cable or internal components contact your dealer immediately.

Functions Bac Panel
1 Power LED: This lights when there is power to the cabinet and the spea er is turned on.
2 Signal LED: This lights when a signal is detected into inputs 1 and 2.
3 Limiter LED: This lights up if distortion is detected. It is best to reduce your volumes if this LED stays
illuminated.
4 Front LED Switch: Turns the front power LED on and off.
5 Volume: Controls the input level of input soc et left and right.
6 Frequency Control: Low pass filter adjustable between 80-150Hz.
7 Input Right and Left: Used to connect a left and right signal, the sum of these get output. Use only with
line level signals. The user can just use one input if required.
8 Left and right Thru Soc ets: Used to connect to other active spea ers, right connects to input right and left
connects to left input.
9 Normal/Inverted Switch: Used to invert the input signal. Can improve sound quality in certain
circumstances, for example when used with equipment not directly compatable with this spea er range.
10 Power Switch: Turns the spea er on and off.
11 Power Inlet: Used for and IEC power cable.

Input Connections
Always use a good quality screened cable. Ma e sure soldering has been done correctly, bad solder joints can
cause damage or intermittent faults to occur. Try to always use a balanced connection, if this is not possible
try to eep unbalanced cables as short as possible. See the connector wiring chart below when wiring
connectors.
Powering Up For The First Time
• Turn down all volumes.
• Switch on your audio devices ie tablet, CD player, tuner, PC.
• Switch on your mixer.
• Switch on any processors between mixer and active spea er.
• Switch on the active spea er.
• Turn up slightly the audio source volume, then mixer volume, them processor volume.
• Turn up the active spea er volume slowly.
• Ma e any adjustments to the volume settings.
• Do the reverse of this when powering down.
It is best to turn the active spea ers volumes up to max or almost maximum, when using a separate mixer, or
any device with volume controls. If connecting devices straight to the active spea er, use the active spea er
volumes. Remember to try and avoid distortion and do not over drive any of the equipment. Always try and
eep mixer gains as low as possible and do not turn the input gain on a mixer down and then turn the main
master output to maximum to achieve the correct levels, as you may also be amplifying unwanted signal
noise.

Wiring Example
Use this arrangement for front of house in halls and event areas. The setup shows the Kira K15 used with
the XL12 spea er, although the K15 will wor well with many other types of professional full range active
cabinets. Set the buttons and connect the spea ers as indicated, connect both sides in the same way and
lin off to the mixer.
