MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
USINGTHEPBLEDOVERRIDESWITCH
YourSecuritySystem canbe disarmed withoutthe use ofthe keychain transmitter. Thisis
necessary,sinceyou willneedthe abilityto operate yourvehicle if thetransmitter islostor
its battery fails. If your system has been selected for Valet Switch manual override as
indicatedonthelastpage ofthis manual,to bypassthealarmsystem;
1. Open thevehicledoor. Thealarm willsound.
2. Turntheignitionkeytotheon position.
3. Within5seconds, pressand releasethePBLED overrideswitch.
Thealarm systemwillstopsoundingand enterthe (bypassed)mode. Youcannowstartand
operatethe vehiclenormally.
Typically thisoverridemodeisusedonlyifthetransmitter hasbecome inoperative.
Programming Your Custom Override Code:
Unlike override switches easily found, and defeated, this security system allows the con-
sumer to program a personal override code, offering a higher level of security. To take
advantageof thisoption, programmablefeature #10mustbeselectedfortheCustomCode
Option. Consultyourinstallationcenter forprogrammingdetails. Thesystem comesfromthe
factorywith apre-programmed overridecode of11.To changethis defaultoverride code,do
thefollowing:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.Turn theignitionswitch tothe onposition.
2. Within10seconds,pressand releasethe PBLEDswitch, 3times.
3. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesirenor hornwillbeep andthe lights willflash onetime.)
4. Within10seconds,begintoenteryourchosen10thsdigitbypressingandreleasingthe
PBLEDswitch from1upto9times.
5. Within10seconds ofthelast entered10thsdigit, turnthe ignition switchoff then on.
6. Within10seconds,beginto enteryour chosenunitsdigit bypressing andreleasing the
PBLEDswitch from1upto9times.
7. Finishbyturning theignition switchtothe offposition.
Ifthenew codewas accepted, theunit willreportback thenewly entered code,by flashing
theLED, firstindicating the10ths digit,pause andthen theunits digit.The unitwillreportthe
new code three times with a one second pause between each code, then the system will
beginarming. Ifthe LEDflashpatternreportsthepreviouslystoredcode,thenewcodewas
notenteredcorrectly. Please repeatsteps1through 7above consideringthefollowing.
NOTE: Acceptabledigits 10thsorunitsare1through9. Theunitwillnotrecognizea0 (Zero),
ornodigit enteredin anyplace,units ortenths.
NOTE: If 15 seconds of inactivity expire, or if the ignition switch is turned off for more then
5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert back to the last
successfully stored code.
Custom Code Programming Example:
To Change the code from the factory pre-assigned code of 11 to “52” you would do the
following:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.
2. Turntheignitionswitchto theon position.
3. Within10seconds,pressand releasethe PBLEDswitch, 3times.
4. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
