Your PRO 9845B Keyless Entry System has many features and available options
some of which must be selected at time of installation. For your reference, the list
on the back page of this manual shows what features and options have been
installed with this particular system. Consult your installing dealer for op-
tions that may have been installed and are not listed.
REMOTEDOORLOCKING-ACTIVE
1.Turntheengineoff,exitthevehicleandclosealldoors.
2. Press and release the lock button of your key chain transmitter one time, the doors will
lock,the parking lightswillflash once, thevehicle'shorn (oroptionalsiren)will chirponce
andthedash mounted LED will begin to flashslowlyconfirmingthesystem is locked.
SILENTLOCKING- ACTIVE
1.Turntheengineoff,exitthevehicleandclosealldoors.
2. Press and hold the lock button of your key chain transmitter for two seconds, the doors
willlock,theparkinglightswill flash once and the dash mounted LED will begin to flash
slowlyconfirmingthesystemislocked. Thehornoroptionalsirenwillnotchirp.
BACKUPPASSIVEOPERATION(AUTOMATIC)
Ifthepassivearming feature has been selected:
Turntheengineoff,exitthevehicleandclosealldoors.
Thedashmounted LEDwillimmediatelybegintoflashrapidlyindicatingthatthe30second
passivearming timerhasbegun.
Ifanyentrypoint is opened during the 30 second arming cycle, armingwillbesuspended.
Whenallentry points are closed, the armingcyclewillbeginagain.
Atthe endofthe 30seconds,the parking lightswillflash once,thevehicle's horn(oroptional
siren) will chirp once and the dash mounted LED will begin to flash slowly confirming the
systemisarmed. Ifthe horn (or optional siren) did not sound when arming, thenthechirps
havebeen turned off. Please refertothesection titled "Eliminating theArm/DisarmChirps"
laterin this manual. Passivedoorlocking isaselectable feature. The doorsmayor maynot
lockpassively dependent uponthesetup during installation.
PROTECTIONWHILETHESYSTEMISARMED
Ifthe optionalStarterInterrupt relay hasbeeninstalled, thenwheneverthe systemisarmed,
the vehicle starter circuit is disabled, even with the ignition key, the vehicle will not start.
Shouldan attemptbemade tostartthe engine,while thesystemisarmed, the startercircuit
willremain interrupted.
Wheneverthesystemisarmed,thedashmounted LED will slowly flash. This serves as a
visualdeterrent toa potentialthief. ThisLED isaverylowcurrent lightemittingdiodeandwill
notcausethebatterytodrainevenif left unattended for long periods of time.

UNLOCKINGTHESYSTEM
Asyouapproachthevehicle,pressandreleasetheunlockbuttononthekeychaintransmitter,
the doors will unlock, the parking lights will flash two times, the vehicle horn (or optional
siren)will chirp twiceandthe dash mountedLEDwill turn off.Ifyouhave theoptionalentry
illuminationcircuitinstalled, the interior light will turn onfor30secondsoruntil the ignition
key is switched on.
Note: Ifthepassivearmingmodewasselectedattimeofinstallation,thedashmounted
LEDwill start flashingrapidlyindicating that thesystemis rearming. Openinganydoorwill
suspendthe automaticarming.
SILENTUNLOCKING
1. As you approach the vehicle, press and hold the unlock button of your key chain
transmitterfortwo seconds, or until the system responds.
Thedoors willunlock,the parking lightswillflash twiceandthe dash mountedLEDwill turn
off, confirming that the system is disarmed. The vehicle horn (or optional siren) will not
chirp.If you havetheoptional entryilluminationcircuitinstalled, theinteriorlight will turnon
for30 seconds or until the ignition key is switchedon.
Note: Ifthepassivearmingmodewasselectedattimeofinstallation,thedashmounted
LEDwill start flashingrapidlyindicating that thesystemis rearming. Openinganydoorwill
suspendthe automaticarming.
OPTIONALACCESS GUARD ( Two Step Unlock )
If the optional 2-step unlock feature was installed, then only the driver's door will unlock
after the first press of the unlock button. If you want to unlock all doors, you can simply
presstheunlock button of the keychain transmitterasecondtime.
TwoStepunlocking is anoptional feature that must be wired uponinstallation.
VALET /PROGRAM/MANUALOVERRIDESWITCH
Thevalet switch allowsyouto temporarily preventthesystem from arming,eliminatingthe
needto handyourkeychain transmittertoparking attendantsorgarage mechanics. When
the system is in the valet mode, it will not passively arm or activate the starter interrupt
circuit. However,all keyless entryfeatures,as well astheremote panicfeature will remain
operational. To enter thevaletmode:
1. Start with the valet switch in the "off" position.
2.Turntheignition switch to the "on" position.
3.Flipthevaletswitchtothe"on"position.
ThedashmountedLEDwillturnonsolid(notflashing)indicatingthatthevaletmodehas
successfullybeenentered.
To return tothenormal mode ofoperation,move the valetswitchto the "off"positionatany
timetheignition switch is in theonposition.

Note:In theeventthatyou lose your keychaintransmitterorthe transmitter fails tooperate
the keyless entry system, the valet switch can be used to override the optional Starter
Interruptandthereforeallowtheenginetobestarted. To override system:
1.Openthedoorwiththevehicle'sdoor key.
2.Turntheignition switch to the on position.
3.Flipthevalet/override switch to the on position.
The system will disarm, allowing the engine to be started, and the vehicle to be operated
normally. Alwaysremembertomove the valetswitchto the offposition to allowthepassive
arming and optional starter interrupt features to be operable the next time you park the
vehicle.
ELIMINATINGTHELOCK/UNLOCKCHIRPS
Youcanselectivelyeliminatethenormallockandunlockchirpsby holding the transmitter
buttonslightly longer when lockingandunlocking. Thiswill prevent the sirenchirpsforone
lockor unlock cycle. If youfindthis inconvenient and wishtoeliminate these chirps perma-
nently,
1. Start with the valet switch in the off position.
2.Turn the ignition switch "on" then "off".
3. Within 10 seconds ofturning off theignition, flip the valetswitch on, "off","on", "off", "on",
"off".
4.If the chirps were on before you started, the sirenwill emit 2 short chirps indicating that
the chirps are now off. If the chirps were off before you started, the siren will emit one
shortchirpindicating that the chirps are now on.
REMOTEPANICOPERATION
Thelockand unlock buttons of your keychaintransmitteralsoservesas panic buttons and
willcause thevehiclehorn (oroptionalsiren)tosound ondemand. To usethe panicfeature,
youmustbewithinthe system's maximum operating range. In an emergency situation, to
usethe panic feature, pressandholdthe lock or unlockbuttonofyour keychain transmitter
for3 seconds. Thiswillcause thelightsto flash, thevehiclehorn (or optionalsiren)to sound
andifthe optional interior illumination circuit was installed, the interior lights toflash. The
panicmodewillcontinuefor30secondsandthenreset.
To disengage the panic feature before the 30 seconds are up, press and hold the lock or
unlock buttonof yourkeychain transmitterfor3secondsor presstheOptionbuttonmomen-
tarily. Thedoorscanbeunlocked orlockedwhile in"panic"feature bymomentarilypressing
thelockor unlock button respectively.
ADDITIONALREMOTEFUNCTIONCHANNEL3
Thesystem has an additional output, (Channel3) , that canbe connected to anumber of
differentoptionalaccessories. Someof the more common uses for this channel are:

To operate the accessory associated with Channel 3, press and hold the Option button of
yourkeychaintransmitter for four seconds.
NOTE: You may access the Channel 3 command regardless of whether the system is
"locked" or "unlocked", but not when the ignition switch is in the on position. This is to
prevent the output from accidentally opening the vehicle's trunk when the vehicle is in
motion.
ADDITIONALREMOTEFUNCTIONCHANNEL4
Thesystem has an additional output, (Channel4) ,that can beconnected to a numberof
differentoptionalaccessories. Someof the more common uses for this channel are:
!RemoteEngineStart
!RemoteWindow Close
!RemoteGarage DoorInterface
To operate theaccessoryassociated with Channel4,simultaneouslypressboth buttons of
yourkeychaintransmitterwhichwereconfiguredandprogeammedforthisfunction.
NOTE: Thechannel4outputwill remain active for as long as the transmitter buttons are
held. Certainaccessoriesmay take advantage oftheextendedoutput capability
ofthischannel. Todiscontinuethe output,simply releasethetransmitterbuttons.
IGNITIONDOORLOCKING/UNLOCKING
Thesystemis capable of being programmed for the added safety and securityof ignition
controlled door locking and unlocking. These features are separate, so the unit may be
programmedfor one, or both,orneither.
When the ignitiondoorlocking featureisprogrammed,the systemwillcauseall door locks
tolock whenever the ignition switch is turned from theoff to on position, (providing thatall
doorsareclosedat thattime). All doorswilllockapproximately3secondsafter thevehicle's
ignitionswitch is turned on. Thisisanice feature formaintainingthepersonal safety ofthe
occupants ofthevehicle,inaneffortlessand automatic manner.
When the ignition door unlocking feature is programmed, the system will cause all door
lockstounlockwhenever the ignition switch is turned from the ontooffposition. Alldoors
willunlockimmediately after the vehicle's ignition switch isturnedoff.If2 Step unlock was
installed,onlythedriver's door will unlock.
Asstatedthese features are programmedseparately,soyoumay chose to use one, both,
orneither. Pleaseconsultwithyourdealertoconsideryouroptions.
TWOSTEPUNLOCK(ACCESSGUARD)
Bypressingtheunlockbuttonofthekeychaintransmitterasyouwouldnormally,(Please
seethesectiontitled"UnlockingTheSystem",earlierinthismanual),the systemwilldisarm,
andonlythedriver'sdoorwillunlock. Ifhowever,you should then decide instead thatyou
wantall doorsto unlock,youcan simplypresstheunlockbutton asecondtimeandall doors
willunlock.
