MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
Using The Receiver's Push-Button Override Switch
Your SecuritySystem can bedisarmed without theuse of thekeychain transmitter.Thisis
necessary,sinceyou will need the ability tooperate your vehicleif the transmitteris lost or
its battery fails. If your system has been selected for Valet Switch manual override as
indicatedonthelastpageof this manual, to bypass the alarm system:
1. Openthevehicledoor.The alarm will sound.
2. Turntheignitionkeytotheonposition.
3. Within5 seconds, press andreleasethe push-button override switch.
Thealarm systemwillstopsoundingand enterthe(bypassed)mode.Youcan nowstartand
operatethe vehicle normally.
Typically this override mode is used only if the transmitter has become inoperative.
Programming Your Custom Override Code:
Unlike override switches easily found, and defeated, this security system allows the
consumerto program a personal overridecode, offeringa higher level ofsecurity. To take
advantageof this option,programmablefeature# 10mustbeselectedfor theCustomCode
Option.Consultyourinstallation centerforprogrammingdetails.The system comesfromthe
factorywith a pre-programmed overridecode of11.To change thisdefault overridecode,
dothe following:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.Turntheignitionswitchto the on position.
2. Within10 seconds, press and release theReceivers Push-button switch,3 times.
3. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesiren or horn will beepand thelights willflash onetime.)
4. Within10seconds,begintoenter your chosen 10thsdigitbypressingandreleasing the
ReceiversPush-buttonswitch from 1 up to9 times.
5. Within10 seconds of thelast entered10ths digit,turn theignition switchoff thenon.
6. Within10seconds,begintoenteryourchosenunitsdigitbypressingandreleasingthe
ReceiversPush-buttonswitch from 1 up to9 times.
7. Finishby turning the ignition switchto theoff position.
Ifthenewcodewas accepted, the unit will report back thenewly entered code, by flashing
theLED, first indicatingthe10thsdigit,pause and then theunitsdigit.Theunit will reportthe
new code three times with a one second pause between each code, then the system will
beginarming. If the LEDflashpatternreportsthepreviously stored code, thenewcodewas
notenteredcorrectly. Please repeat steps 1 through 7above considering thefollowing.
NOTE: Acceptable digits 10ths or units are 1 through 9. The unit will not recognize a 0
(Zero),or no digit entered inany place,units ortenths.
NOTE: If15 seconds ofinactivity expire,orif the ignitionswitch isturnedoff for morethen
5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert back to the last
successfully stored code.
Custom Code Programming Example:
To Change the code from the factory pre-assigned code of 11 to “52” you would do the
following:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.
