USER’S MAUAL
Before installing the components, please carefully read all of the instructions contained in this manual. It is advisable to carefully follow the highlighted
instructions. Failure to respect these instructions may cause unintentional harm or damage to the components.
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
1. Makesureyourcarhasa12voltDCnegativegroundelectricalsystem.
2. Donotinstallcomponentsinsidetheenginecompartmentorexposethemtowater,excessivehumidity,dustordirt.
3. Neverruncablesoutsidethevehicleorinstalltheampliernexttomechanicalorelectronicdevices.
4. OperatetheAPF1Donlywheninternaltemperatureisbetween0°C(32°F)and55°C(131°F).TheAPF1Dmusthaveaminimum3cm(1.5”)distancefrom
anystructure.Theremustbegoodaircirculationaroundthechassis.
5. Makesurethelocationyouchoseforthecomponentdoesnotaffectthecorrectfunctioningofthevehicle’smechanicalandelectricaldevices.
6. Makesurethepowercabledoesnotshortcircuitduringinstallationandconnection.
7. Useextremecautionwhencuttingordrillingthecarchassis,checkingthatthereisnoelectricalwiringorstructuralelementsunderneath.
8. Userubbergrommetstoprotectthewirewhenrunningthroughholesinmetalandusepropermaterialsifclosetoheat-generatingdevices.
9. Makesureallthecablesareproperlysecuredalongtheirentirelength.Also,makesuretheirouterprotectivejacketisflameresistantandselfextinguishing.
Securetheconnectedcablesclosetotheterminalblockswithwiretiesorclamps.
10.Pre-planthecongurationofyournewAPF1Dandthebestwiringroutestoeaseinstallation.Usehighqualitycables,connectorsandaccessories,as
youwillndintheAudisoncatalogue.
HOW TO CONNECT THE AP F1D
ThefollowinggraphicsrepresentthemainstepsfortheAPF1Dconnections.Itsuniversalityandversatilityofferendlesspossibilitiesandcongurations.

operationandforanyotherneed,pleaserefertothefollowingpagesofthismanual
1. BeforeinstallingtheAPF1D,turnoffthesourceandallotherelectronicdevicesintheaudiosystemtopreventanypossibledamage.
2. Runaspecicallydesignedpowercablewithproperdiameter(8AWG,Ø3.2mm/0.128’)fromtheAPF1Dbattery.
3. Connectthepowercablesobservingcorrectpolarity.Connectthe(-)terminaltothecarchassisrst,thenconnectthe(+)terminaltothecablecoming
fromthebattery.Tocorrectlygroundtheproduct(-GROUND)useaxingpointinthevehiclechassis;removeallpaintorgreasefromthemetalif
necessary,checkingwithavoltmeterthatthereiscontinuitybetweenthebatterynegativeterminal(-)andthechosenxingpoint.Thepowerconnector
acceptsan8AWG(Ø3.2mm/0.128’)15mm/0.6’peel-offcable.Ifpossible,connectallcomponentstothesamegroundpoint;thissolutionrejects
mostundesirednoisewhichcanbegeneratedduringtheaudioreproduction.
4. Putaninsulatedfuseholdermaximum20cmfarfromthebatterypositiveterminal;connectoneendofthepowercabletoitafterconnectingitsother
endtotheamplier.
5. TURNON:theAPF1Dcanbeturnedonthrough:
-RemoteIn,byconnectingtheterminaltotheRemOutofanAfterMarketheadunitorfromtherelaunchwiringofanamplierfromthePrimaAPF8.9bit/
AP8.9bit/AP4.9bitline.
Thelogoonthetopsideoftheheatsinklightsblue,indicatingthattheproductison.AflashingoftheREDlogoeverysecondindicatestheactivationof
thethermalprotection2flashesoftheREDlogoeverysecondindicatean“OVERLOAD”/Faultinthewiringofthespeakers,4flashesoftheREDlogo
everysecondindicatetheactivationofthe“OVERVOLTAGE”protectioncausedbyabatteryvoltagehigherthan16V,theREDlogoturningonindicatesan
internalfailureoftheproduct,pleasecontacttheauthorizedcustomerservicecenter.
6. SPKIN:HILEVELmonophonicanaloginput.UsethemultipointconnectorprovidedtoconnecttoanampliedsourceoranamplierfromthePrimalineAP4.9bit.
Thesignaltobeappliedmusthavealevelbetween2and20VRMS.TheinputsensitivityoftheAPF1Discontrolledbythe“SENSITIVITY”3-position
switch:2V-6.5V-20V.
7. PREIN:Lowlevelmonophonicanaloginput.UseanRCAconnectortoconnecttoanaudiosourceortoanamplierfromthe“PrimaAPF8.9bit/AP8.9bit/
AP4.9bit”linefeaturingthisconnection.Thesignaltobeappliedmusthavealevelbetween0.6and6VRMS.TheinputsensitivityoftheAPF1Dis
controlledbythe“SENSITIVITY”3-positionswitch:0.6V-2V-6V.
8. SPEAKEROUT:powerterminal+and-ofthemonophonicoutput.Theavailablepowerattheoutputis500Wx1@4ohm,800Wx1@2ohmand1000Wx1@1ohm.
9. FUSE:toreplacethefuse,removeitfromitsholderlocatednearthepowersupplyterminalblockandreplaceitwithanotherfuseofequalvalue.
10.INSTALLATION:Allcomponentsmustbesolidlyxedtothevehiclestructure.Dothesamewheninstallinganyadditionalcustomstructuresyoumay
havebuilt.Makesurethatyourinstallationissolidandsafe.Acomponentcomingloosewhiledrivingmaycauseseriousdamagetothepassengers,as
wellastoothervehicles.Whentheinstallationiscomplete,checkthesystemwiringandverifyallconnectionswereperformedcorrectly.
11.ForacorrectuseoftheAPF1D,itisessentialtoconsultthismanualinitsentirety.
