company and we feel very proud of that. We hope S18 could bring Hi-Fi music
experience and fun to you. You are suggested to read this manual first before you
could use all functions of S18 properly.

S18 is a pure digital transport with high
performance, high fidelity and multi-
format. It supports as high as 32Bit
musical format and DOP output of DSD,
the core of it uses non-synchronous
clock technology. It is a hifi digital
transport with low distortion.

Application of digital
transport

Connect the digital output(AES/OPT/COAX)
of S18 with the digital input (AES/OPT/COAX)
of DAC directly when playing, then DAC could
bring out beautiful music.

Notes
1 . When turn off transport, pls press the power button on front panel first, then press the
main power switch on back panel. If turn off the main power switch directly, transport would
lost the previous settings.
2 . During updating, power is forbidden to shut down.
3 . Internet connection is backup connection and not opened to users temporarily.
a . As per usage connecting transport together with PC, pls refer to guidance of service and
support on aune website.

Using Q/A
1. As per mode of playing
It has 4 types according to position of playing
1) Playing all songs
From browsing songs->all songs, it will switch to this mode after selecting songs for playing.
Characteristics of mode: Play all songs in SD card.
2) Playing songs in file folder
From browsing songs->all songs, it will switch to this mode after selecting for playing.
Characteristics of mode: Play songs in selected file folder.
3) Playing songs in favorites
From my favorites->my favorite song, it will switch to this mode after selecting songs for playing
4) Playing songs that have been played recently
In recently playing mode, it will switch to this mode after selecting songs for playing.
Note: In this mode, only songs have been played recently in list could be played.
2. As per favorites
Favorites, namely playing list, has 4 lists at present. When songs are put into favorites, they could be
saved and added to according list. Songs added to favorites could be played in mode 1 and mode 2.
The whole folder could be added to playing list in mode 2.
Note:
Same songs could be added to favorites repeatedly, at present, they will not be screened out.
Delete songs in favorites:
From my favorites->my favorite songs, enter into according playing list, press multi-function button to
delete. There will be no tips as do such operation.
Number of songs could be added to favorites:
At present 800 songs could be added to each playing list.

3. As per save settings
Turntable supports to save settings without power on . Considering lifetime of flash inside, save would
only work as using remote controller and button on front panel at present, and save would not valid when
shut down power directly.
In addition, when turn off turntable using remote controller or button on front panel. Pls not shut down
main power until background light is off. This is mentioned in manual and remind user again here.
4. As per CUE
S18 supports flac/ape/wav associated with CUE file, but a few issues below must be paid attention to:
1) One folder could only be put into one CUE file. After entering into folder, each song could be seen
directly.
2) At present, CUE only supports ASCII format and will open UTF-8 format to user later. If normal
display can not be obtained, pls use notebook of windows to open CUE file and save as ASCII format.
3) Flac file either has no SEEK register or a far distance between start-and-end point.
Compared with APE, WAV, start-and-end time point of CUE file will be farther. If requires a high
performance, pls convert into WAV or APE because APE and WAV do not have such problem. Later
algorithm would be optimized as much as possible.
5. As per SACDISO file
1) S18 supports ISO file with DSD64 format. If S18 can not play it, pls use footbar to open it and check its
property is DSD64 or not.
2) SACD ISO and CUE display alike, they display name of each song directly. One folder is only allowed
to put into one ISO file and file type will be shown on interface of playing.
6. As per layer of folder and length of file name
1) The maximum layer of file folder S18 could support is no more than 7. Otherwise they will be filtered
out. So pls not exceed this figure to play songs.
2) The maximum length of file name is no more than 100 characters. If it is Chinese character, it should
be less than 50. Otherwise, they can not be recognized.

7. As per SD card
At present S18 only supports FAT32 format. Format of 64G and 128G card are exFAT by default and
windows does not support to initialize 64G card or above with FAT32 format, it needs the third software,
for example, DiskGenius to do this.
8. As per CUE
Because S18 uses single chip and has limited speed, so at present, S18 could support fast and normal
compressed grade only. It will support high compressed grade later after optimizing.
9. As per upgrading
1) Normal upgrading
Menu: System setting->upgrade (At present on the 2nd page from the bottom, it can page up) wait unit
to restart after confirming and enter into upgrading picture. On upgrading picture press UP to confirm
upgrading and press DOWN to cancel upgrade. It will start automatically after finishing upgrading.
2) Upgrading with combination key
In case power is off during normal upgrading or unit can not start after upgrading, pls enter into
upgrading interface as following method:
Turn off unit first, then press power and menu button on the front panel at same time. After power and
background light are on, release the button. The other steps of upgrading are same as normal
upgrading. After upgrading is finished, unit enter into standby picture.
3) Deleting settings by force (including favorites/recently played contents)
Turn off unit first, then press BACK+DOWN to power on. Release the button after 2 seconds and start
unit again. At this time all settings have been cleared off. At first time doing such operation and turn off
unit, it needs 20-30 seconds to initialize favorite folder. Pls shut down power only after turn off unit
and wait until background light is out. Such operation is like clearing CMOS, when some failures
come nowhere.
