PRECAUTIONS
Do not apply excessive pressure on connectors or
any other part of the board. Do not touch the metallic
sharp parts (pins) of the product.
This product is electrostatic sensitive; make sure you
check this before touching or using it.
The disconnect devices of the unit are the appliance
inlet of the auxiliary power supply and the appliance
inlet on the rear side of the unit. These must be easily
reachable.
To prevent electric shock, unplug the unit before
handling. The achievement of other operations not
mentioned in this document is prohibited. Repairs
can be performed only by a technician trained and
qualified.
Each connection must be Safety Extra Low Voltage
kind (SELV), and must stay inside buildings.
This product is designed to be rack-mounted. Be sure
to observe following installation rules of this kind of
equipment.

and schemes) are only examples and shall not be taken
for a real vision of your own equipment configuration.

Thank you for purchasing AuviTran’s Audio Toolbox AVBx3 Stagebox Kit. We hope you will enjoy using it. This kit will allow
you to transform your Audio Toolbox from installation mode to Stagebox mode.
You will find herewith the necessary instructions to use your product. Please read them carefully as misuse of this device
might cause serious damage to you and your environment.

2OPENING THE BOX
Unscrew the four M3x6 countersunk screws of the cover.
Then, unscrew the two M3x6 countersunk screws that hold ears on each side of the box.
Finally, unscrew the four M3x6 countersunk screws remaining on each side of the box.
Remove the cover and keep all screws in a safe place.

3FRONT PANEL DISASSEMBLY
Disconnect the flat cable that connects the front panel to the backplane by sliding it through the guide of the backplane.
Unscrew the six FHC screws of the front panel and keep them in a safe place.
Once the front panel free, flip-it back to access to “UI LED” card. Unscrew the two M3x4 stainless screws of “UI LED” card
without removing the flat cable. It is possible that the “UI LED” card sticks slightly to the front panel. To take it off, just pull it
gently.
Keep the front panel, the “UI LED” card and the two screws in a safe place.

4GPIO_WCLK CARD DISASSEMBLY
Disconnect the cable that connects GPIO_WCLK card to power supply. To do that, simply press the tab on the connector
and pull-it up gently.
Keep the cable in a safe place for a future use if you want to transform your device back in installation mode.
Disconnect the flat cable that connects GPIO_WCLK card to the backplane, on GPIO_WCLK side. Just pull gently the flat
cable up and slide it outside the metallic guide.
WARNING
Be careful not to injure yourself with the metallic guide at the time of extraction of the flat cable.
Remove the black shrink tube of the flat cable (the shrink tube is no longer usable, no need to keep it).
Unscrew the two M3x6 black screws from the front of the GPIO_WCLK card.
Keep the two screws in a safe place.
Remove the two spacers at both ends of the GPIO_WCLK's card.
Keep the two spacers and two lock washers in a safe place.

5GPIO_WCLK CARD REASSEMBLY
If you want to install the IEC locking kit, please refer to Chapter 11 before reassembly of GPIO_WCLK card.
Place the GPIO_WCLK card in the opposite opening to where it was originally.
Screw the two spacers on the GPIO_WCLK card. Please ensure to put-back the lock washers.
Screw the front panel with the two M3x6 black screws retrieved earlier.

6CONNECTING THE GPIO_WCLK CARD
Connect the power cable supplied in the Stagebox Kit to the GPIO_WCLK card.
Connect it to power supply (the tab prevent from a wrong insertion).
Insert the power cable into the white cable guide located on the backplane.
Insert the four cable clamps (Rilsan) in the four box holes present for that purpose.

Put the power cable in the four cable clamps and tighten them so that the cable is pressed against the bottom of the box.
Once the cable clamps tightened, cut their useless ends.
Unfold the flat cable located on the backplane so that it does only pass once in the backplane guide.

Insert the 12cm long shrink tube supplied in the Stagebox kit on the flat cable.
Connect the flat cable on the GPIO_WCLK card (blue side to the outside of the GPIO_WCLK card).
Push the shrink tube so that it comes into contact with the connector.
On backplane side, pull the flat cable in the opposite direction to the GPIO_WCLK card.

Slightly mark the folds so that the flat cable remains in place.

7DUMMY FRONT PANEL ASSEMBLY
Bring the dummy front panel (raw stainless panel) supplied with the Stagebox Kit and remove the protective film.
Place the panel into the opening to the left of the GPIO_WCLK card, the notches down behind the plate.
Screw the panel with the two M3x4 stainless screws supplied in the Stagebox Kit.

8UI LED CARD ASSEMBLY
Retrieve the UI LED card and take the Stagebox Led front panel supplied in the Stagebox Kit.
Screw the UI LED card on the back of the Stagebox Led front panel (the side where there are components in contact with the
panel) with two M3x4 stainless screws previously removed and two lock washers supplied in the Stagebox Kit.
Insert this assembly into the opening opposite to the GPIO_WCLK card by inserting the flat cable first.
Panel notch must be placed behind the little metal fold of the box.

Screw the Stagebox Led front panel + UI LED card to the box with two M3x6 black screws supplied in the Stagebox kit.

9CONNECTING UI LED CARD
Insert the 4cm long shrink tube on the flat cable connected to the UI LED card. Slide the flat cable and the shrink tube in the
metallic guide.
Connect the flat cable on the backplane (blue side up).
Slide the excess flat cable in the backplane guide so that it remains in place. Mark the folds slightly.

10 CLOSING THE BOX
Put the cover on the box and screw the top first using the four M3x6 countersunk screws previously recovered.
Screw the two ears to the box, this time to the side where the three slots are free. Use the four M3x6 countersunk screws
previously recovered.
WARNING
Use the two back holes of the ears for screwing it to the box in order to add a protection margin.
Finally, screw the last four M3x6 countersunk screw on the side on the box, at the back.

11 LOCK KIT INSTALLATION
Take the lock kit and screw the GPIO_WCLK front panel on the GPIO_WCLK card with the two spacers, two washers and
two nuts.
Insert the locker through the two holes of the spacer, notch up.

12 END OF THE OPERATION
You’ve just finished transforming your Audio Toolbox AVBx3 in stagebox mode.
You should get:
1 Front Panel
6 FHC screws
1 power cable
1 Lock kit (if you decided not to use it)
2 M4x10 black screws (if you decided to mount the lock kit)
These parts are to be kept in a safe place throughout the life of the equipment for a possible return in installation mode of
the device.
