that produce heat.
9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one
wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third
prongareprovidedforyoursafety.Iftheprovidedplugdoesnottintoyouroutlet,consultanelectricianfor
replacement of the obsolete outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the
point where they exit from the apparatus.
11. Onlyuseattachments/accessoriesspeciedbythemanufacturer.

Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket,
ortablespeciedbythemanufacturer,orsoldwiththeapparatus.
When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus
combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
14. Referallservicingtoqualiedservicepersonnel.Servicingisrequiredwhentheapparatushasbeendamagedinany
way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus,
the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
15. Donotexposethisapparatustodrippingorsplashingandensurethatnoobjectslledwithliquids,suchasvases,are
placed on the apparatus.
16. To completely disconnect this apparatus from the AC Mains, disconnect the power supply cord plug from the
AC receptacle.
17. The main plug of the power supply cord shall remain readily operable.
18. Donotexposebatteriestoexcessiveheatsuchassunshine,reorthelike.
SAFETY PROCEDURES
• Ensure that you connect your Amplifier only to the type of power
supply indicated on the amplifier bottom, and ensure that the power
cord cannot be walked on or otherwise damaged.
• To prevent electric shock, match wide blade of plug to wide slot, fully
insert.
• Ensure that objects or liquids are not allowed to penetrate the enclosure.
• Your AXIOM Amplifiers are made from Die Cast Aluminum and
from time to time should be wiped clean gently with a slightly
damp cloth to remove any dust or stains.

A1400-8 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Step 1:
SetthevoltageswitchonthebottomoftheA1400-8totheappropriate
voltage for your country. The voltage switch is preset at the factory for
115volts(NorthAmericaandJapan).Formostoftherestoftheworld
thevoltageswitchwillneedtobechangedto230volts.Damagewill
occurifyouplugintoa230voltlinewiththeswitchinthe115position.
Step 2:
InsertthesuppliedpowercordintoyourA1400-8andplacetheamp
on its feet. Do not plug the amplifier into the wall outlet until all hook-
up steps are completed.
Step 3:
Main switch should remain in the off position “O” until all hook-up
steps are complete.
Step 4:
ConnecteachofyourspeakerchannelstoachanneloftheA1400.
Besuretoputthewirefromthespeaker+(positive)totheterminal
marked+(positive)onyourA1400-8andthewirefromthespeaker
–(negative)totheterminalmarked–(negative)onyourA1400-8.It
is wise to label each speaker wire as to where in your system it goes;
i.e.LF, C, RF, RS, RR, LR, and LS. WARNING:Checkthatnone
ofyourspeakerwires(orwirestrands)touchorareshort-circuited
to other speaker connections or to the amplifier’s metal chassis.
SERIOUS DAMAGE WILL OCCUR IF MORE THAN 200 WATTS
IS SHORT-CIRCUITED TO CHASSIS GROUND OR ANOTHER
SPEAKERTERMINAL.
Step 5:
Connect each channel from your pre-amp to the appropriate input i.e.
the Left Front input cable will plug in directly above the LF speaker
cableyouhookedupinstep4.YourA1400-8allowsforthreetypes
of input connector from your pre-amp; XLR, ¼ Phone, and RCA by
using the supplied adaptors. The ¼ phone plugs into the center
oftheXLRinput.YourA1400-8comeswith8straightand8ninety
degree ¼” Phone to RCA adaptors allowing you options for wire
management. SERIOUS DAMAGE WILLOCCURIFEITHERTHE
HOTORGROUNDOFTHEINPUTCABLEISSHORTEDTOTHE
POSITIVELEADOFANYSPEAKEROUTPUT.
Step 6:
Thetriggerinputisanoptionalhook-up.Ifyourprocessorhasa12
volttriggeroutputyoucanplugruna3.5mmconnectortohereand
yourA1400-8willpoweronandoffwithyourprocessor.NOTE:The
frontbutton(Step8)mustbeintheOFFpositionforthetriggerto
operate.

Plug your power cord into the wall and turn on the mains power switch
(see Step Three). WARNING: Do not plug this into a power
conditioner. Power conditioners are known to cause overvoltage
which will damage your amplifier.

PushtopoweronyourA1400-8theringaroundtheon/offbutton
will light up blue when on.
Precautions:
AirflowinthebottomventsandoutthetopventsofyourA1400-8is
veryimportant.Donotblocktheseventsinanyway.YourA1400-8is
designedtooperateinambienttemperaturesupto30degreesC(86
F).SincetheA1400-8willactuallycooldownasyouincreasethe
output please be sure to turn off your amplifier in very high ambient
temperature conditions when not in use.
