Important
Axisdevicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoverthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeviceaftertherstloin,set
upasecureandencryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchanethepassword.
Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforyourdataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyasthey
maybeusedinvarioustypesofinstallations.
Toprotectyourdatawestronlyrecommendthatyou:
•Chanethedefaultpasswordthatcomeswitheachdevice.
•Useapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
•Chanethepasswordatarecurrininterval,atleastonceayear.

TheAVHSsettinsareconuredunderSystemOptions>Network>TPIP>Basic.ThepossibilitytoconnecttoanAVHSservice
isenabledbydefault.Todisable,cleartheEnableAVHSbox.
One-clickenabled-Pressandholdtheproduct’scontrolbutton(seeProductoverviewonpage4)forabout3secondstoconnectto
anAVHSserviceovertheInternet.Oncereistered,AlwayswillbeenabledandtheAxisproductstaysconnectedtotheAVHSservice.
Iftheproductisnotreisteredwithin24hoursfromwhenthebuttonispressed,theproductwilldisconnectfromtheAVHSservice.
Always-TheAxisproductwillconstantlyattempttoconnecttotheAVHSserviceovertheInternet.Oncereistered,theproductwill
stayconnectedtotheservice.Thisoptioncanbeusedwhentheproductisalreadyinstalledanditisnotconvenientorpossibleto
usetheone-clickinstallation.

Acapturemodeconsistsofaresolutionandthecorrespondinframerateavailableintheproduct.Thecapturemodesettin
affectsthecamera’seldofviewandaspectratio.
Thelowerresolutioncapturemodeiscroppedoutfromthehihestresolution.
Theimageshowshowtheeldofviewandaspectratiocanchangebetweentwodifferentcapturemodes.

Chooseideocompressionformat
Decidewhichcompressionmethodtousebasedonyourviewinrequirements,andonthepropertiesofyournetwork.The
availableoptionsare:
MotionJPEG
MotionJPEGorMJPEGisadiitalvideosequencethatismadeupofaseriesofindividualJPEGimaes.Theseimaesarethen
displayedandupdatedataratesufcienttocreateastreamthatshowsconstantlyupdatedmotion.Fortheviewertoperceivemotion
videotheratemustbeatleast16imaeframespersecond.Fullmotionvideoisperceivedat30(NTSC)or25(PAL)framespersecond.
TheMotionJPEGstreamusesconsiderableamountsofbandwidth,butprovidesexcellentimaequalityandaccesstoeveryimae
containedinthestream.
H.264orMPEG-4Part10/AV
Note
H.264isalicensedtechnoloy.TheAxisproductincludesoneH.264viewinclientlicense.Installinadditionalunlicensed
copiesoftheclientisprohibited.Topurchaseadditionallicenses,contactyourAxisreseller.
H.264can,withoutcompromisinimaequality,reducethesizeofadiitalvideolebymorethan80%comparedtotheMotion
JPEGformatandbyasmuchas50%comparedtotheMPEG-4standard.Thismeansthatlessnetworkbandwidthandstoraespace
arerequiredforavideole.Orseenanotherway,hihervideoqualitycanbeachievedforaivenbitrate.
H.265orMPEG-HPart2/HEV

Therearedifferentexposuremodeoptionsinthecamerathatadjustsaperture,shutterspeed,andaintoimproveimaequalityfor
specicsurveillancescenes.GotoSettings>Image>Exposureandselectbetweenthefollowinexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,selectAutomaticexposure.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallihtin,forexampleuorescentlihtin,selectFlicker-free.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallihtandbrihtliht,forexampleoutdoorswithuorescentlihtinatnihtand
sundurindaytime,selectFlicker-reduced.
Selectthesamefrequencyasthepowerlinefrequency.
•Tolockthecurrentexposuresettins,selectHoldcurrent.
Maximizedetailsinanimage
Important
Ifyoumaximizedetailsinanimae,thebitratewillprobablyincreaseandyoumihtetareducedframerate.
•Makesuretoselectthecapturemodethathasthehihestresolution.
•Setthecompressionaslowaspossible.
•SelectMJPEGstreamin.
•TurnoffZipstreamfunctionality.

ofthemmustbemettotriertheaction.

Toresettheproducttothefactorydefaultsettins:
1.Disconnectpowerfromtheproduct.
2.Pressandholdthecontrolbuttonwhilereconnectinpower.SeeProductoverviewonpage4.
3.Keepthecontrolbuttonpressedfor15–30secondsuntilthestatusLEDindicatorashesamber.
4.Releasethecontrolbutton.TheprocessiscompletewhenthestatusLEDindicatorturnsreen.Theproducthasbeenreset
