2. Technical Description of the Machine
The machine "ST-01" is made for fast drying of paint-samples using infrared energy / heat and air
movement. The duration and intensity of drying can be adjusted. The drying-time can be set by the timer
and the temperature the infrared lamp produces can be determined by a heat controller. The speed of the
air can also be adjusted to the desired level. The compressed air and the infrared lamp can be used together
or separately.

4. Installation
The unit can be used either wall mounted or on a suitable bench / flat surface. At the back of the ST-01,
there are two holes a distance of 10.2“ inches apart for a wall mounting. To avoid overheating and fire, do
not mount the unit on a wooden or flammable wall. If you don’t want it wall mounted, you can put the
machine on a suitable sturdy bench / table.
Compressed Air Connection
One compressed air connection has to be provided by the plant, depending on the machine:
Operating pressure max. : 5 bar ; 72.5 psi
Operating pressure min. : 3 bar ; 43.5 psi
A pressure-regulating valve has to be used if the compressed air connections do not
have the required operating pressures. Use only dry and oil-free air!!
After proper installation and connection to the compressed air supply, the ST-01 unit can be operated.

5. Operating Instructions
Drying Tray
A. Spray out your test card as normal, in the spray booth.
B. Place the test card in the drying tray
C. Set up your desired drying sequence
For waterborne base coat
1. Turn the temperature control to high
2. Turn on the air switch and adjust the air flow rate to max.
3. Set the timer at 2 minutes and your drying cycle will start. (You may find that the base coat has
matted out before the end of this cycle) The paint is being dried using both infrared and air.
When the drying cycle is completed, the unit will stop automatically and a bell / ping will sound.
For top coat (Clear or single stage)
1. Turn the temperature control to high
2. Set the timer for 3 minutes and the curing cycle will start. The sample is now being cured using only
infrared
When the drying cycle is completed, the unit will stop automatically and a bell / ping will sound.
