CONTROL PANEL
ABOUT YOUR BABY FOOD EXPRESS
Introducing solids into a baby’s diet is an important part of their growth
and development. However finding the time to prepare and cook
nutritious food during the daily routine can be diffcult. The Baby Food
Maker is here to help - it steams and purees ingredients in the one jug
to create fresh and healthy baby food in minutes.
When first introducing your baby to solid foods it is important that the food
is easy to digest and unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. It is also
important to always follow your doctor’s guidelines on when and how to
introduce your baby to new foods.
To start, ingredients should be steamed to very soft and pureed until they
are quite runny, and a smooth velvety consistency. Then over time coarser
textures can be introduced as your baby’s motor skills develop and they can
begin to chew.
It is also important to remember when feeding your baby that the
temperature of the food should always be served lukewarm or at room
temperature. Please remember to always test the temperature of the food
before serving it to your baby.
BEFORE FIRST USE
CAUTION: Handle the blade carefully.
•Carefully remove all contents from the box.
•Take extreme care when unpacking and handling the sharp blades.
•As some parts may be packed separately, check to ensure all items
have been unpacked before disposing of the packaging.

7
•Dismantle and clean all parts as instructed in the "CARE AND
CLEANING" section of this manual.
•There is a clear protective film on the control panel which can be
removed if desired.
•Select a level, dry countertop wherethe applianceis to be used, allowing
air space on all sides to provide proper ventilation and a safe distance
from hot surfaces of the appliance.
•To prevent damage from steam and heat, ensure the appliance is not
placed directly under cupboards when in use.
•Ensure the appliance is always disconnected from the wall power outlet
when not in use.
ASSEMBLING THE BABY FOOD EXPRESS
THE JUG
1. With the jug lid removed, sit the jug upside down on a flat bench or table.
2. Ensure the drive shaft gasket is in place over the drive shaft and is
securely sitting at the base of the drive shaft. This will prevent leaking.
3. Insert the drive shaft into the base of the jug and rotate counterclockwise
while pushing down to lock into place.
IMPORTANT: Always make sure the drive shaft and drive shaft gasket
are properly inserted and locked into the jug before steaming or
blending. Use of the appliance without the drive shaft and gasket will
result in leaking and cause damage to the jug and motor unit.
4. Turn the jug the right way up and place it onto the motor unit with the
handle directly facing the front over the STOP button. Once seated
securely on the motor unit, rotate counterclockwise until you hear it lock
fully into place.
CAUTION: DO NOT handle by the blade. The blade attachment is very
sharp. Use caution when handling and storing.
5. Holding the plastic centre of the blade carefully place the blade into the
centre of the jug over the drive shaft and push it to the bottom of the jug.
6. Add desired ingredients to the jug. Refer to the Quantity and Ingredient
Measurement Recommendations table on page 11.
7. Place the jug lid onto the jug with the spout cover of the lid at the back
of the jug.

8
8. Close the jug lid by turning it counter-clockwise (follow the directional
arrow towards the to lock the lid), ensuring the safety interlock on the
jug lid is fully inserted into the motor unit and the tab on the lid is locked
into the handle of the jug.
IMPORTANT: The appliance will not operate unless the safety
interlock on the lid is activated and the jug is correctly locked into
place.
SAFETY SWITCH FUNCTION
The Baby Food Express has a safety switch function. If the jug lid is opened
or the jug is removed from the motor unit during operation, the appliance
will automatically shut off.
THE WATER TANK
1. Remove the water tank by lifting it straight up off the motor unit.
2. Turn it upside down, unscrew the water tank cap clockwise and pull up
to open.
3. Fill the water tank with water andreplace the capby aligning the notches
on the cap with the gaps in the tank opening. Rotate it in a clockwise
direction to lock it in place.
4. Ensure the steam tank lid on the motor unit is locked in place and then
return the water tank onto the motor unit and firmly push down in place.
NOTE: If there is not enough water in the water tank during operation
the appliance will beep repeatedly.
OVERHEATING PROTECTION
The Baby Food Express has overheating protection. If the steam
chamber/water tank runs dry during operation, the heating power will shut
off and the appliance will beep repeatedly. Add water to the water tank to
resume operation.
IMPORTANT:
•It is recommended that the water tank is filled when the appliance is
cold.

9
•After use, allow the appliance time to cool before removing the water
tank as there will still be steam and heat within the water tank and steam
tank.

IMPORTANT TIPS FOR USE
•Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before cooking. Choose ripe fruit
and remove peel, pits, seeds and cores.
•Cut ingredients to approximately 1-2cm pieces before placing in the jug.
Smaller pieces of food steam more evenly and blend more consistently,
ensuring a smooth texture.
•Potato will become gluey if blended for too long so it is best to pulse
blend after the steam and blend cycle. This will allow you to monitor the
consistency.
•You can blend banana or avocado or other mashable fruit in the Baby
Food Express. You will need to press a function button, then just pulse
to mash to the desired consistency.
•Root vegetables are great to steam and blend together. Ensure you cut
them up to the same size to ensure they steam consistently and to avoid
lumps.
•Pour off excess liquid after steaming if you want a thicker consistency
before blending.
•Always check that meat is thoroughly cooked to a safe internal
temperature. Chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of
75°C, beef to 77°C and fish to 65°C. It is recommended that you test
cooked meat with a reliable meat thermometer to be sure when foods
are safely cooked.

concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety.
5. Take care to avoid personal injury when handling the sharp blade
assembly. Install and remove by handling the top of the plastic column.
6. Leave a clear space of a least 75mm (3 inches) around the appliance
when in use.
7. To prevent damage from steam and heat, ensure the appliance is not
placed directly under cupboards when in use.

27. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external
timer or separate remote control system.

23
28. For added safety, electrical appliances should be connected to a power
outlet that is protected by a residual current device (RCD), also often
referred to as a ‘Safety Switch’. Your switchboard may already
incorporate an RCD. If unsure, call an electrician for verification and
fitting if necessary.
