Introduction
■ Thank you for selecting the Bayby BBM 7020 Digital Video Baby Monitor. This baby monitor is agreat
child care accessory that enables you to hear your baby when you are not in the same room.
Nevertheless, it is important to understand that it cannot serve as asubstitute for responsible adult
supervision.
■ This baby monitor transmits not only audio but also avideo image thanks to a2.4" colour LCD screen
so that you can more reliably monitor your child.
■ 2.4 GHz wireless technology is utilised for transmitting the audio signal. This ensures quality
transmission up to adistance of 250 m in an open environment. You will be informed about an
exceeded signal range, loss of signal or interference by an alert signal.
■ The encrypted wireless transmission and automatic available channel selection features guarantee
privacy and the peace of mind that you will hear only your child.
■ On the parent unit screen, you may monitor the signal intensity, the battery power level, recharging
status, the volume setting and air temperature in the room in which the baby unit is located.
■ The baby monitor is also equipped with awarning signal indicating low battery power, or that the
minimum or maximum set air temperature has been exceeded.
■ The VOX function enables avoice-activated transmission mode to be set. In this mode, the baby
monitor will always start transmitting when it detects any voice or noise. When no sound is being
transmitted, the baby monitor will automatically switch to the ECO mode. This reduces the transmission
power to ensure power efficient operation and minimisation of radiation.
■ The parent unit may be connected to up to 4 cameras. The camera on the baby unit has anight-vision
function and aswivel joint enables the required camera angle to be set easily.
■ In the event that you need to calm down your baby, you may use the return communication function
and talk back to your child or play a lullaby.
■ Both the parent and baby units are powered using apower adapter or rechargeable Li-Ion batteries.
■ The parent unit is equipped with astable stand and abelt clip for easy carrying.

Installation location of the baby unit and parent unit
1. Baby unit
■ Locate the baby unit A2on an even, dry and stable surface in the room where you want to monitor
your child. We recommend an elevated location (e.g. chest of drawers or ashelf) at asufficient distance
away from equipment and devices that could cause signal interference.
■ When the baby unit A2is to be powered from the grid, locate it within reach of apower socket. In
order to minimise electro-smog, the baby unit A2should be located at least 1 m away from your child.
■ Turn the camera panel B3so that the camera lens B3covers the area that you wish to monitor.
Attention:
Never locate the baby unit A2or the power adapter A3in the baby'sbed or within the reach of
your child.
2. Parent unit
■ Place the parent unit A1in the room where you will be located. When the parent unit A1is to be
powered from the grid, locate it within reach of apower socket.
Power source
1. External power source and its use
■ To power the baby and parent units A2andA1from an external power source, use only the original
power adapters A3type JF005WR-0500100VH (output 5 V , 1 A).
■ Insert the plug of one of the power adapters A3into the socket B4that is located at the side of the
baby unit A2. Insert the plug of the power adapter A3into apower socket.
■ Insert the plug of the second power adapter A3into the socket C6that is located at the side of the
parent unit A1. Insert the plug of the power adapter A3into apower socket.
Attention:
Before connecting the power adapter A3to apower socket, make sure the voltage stated on its
rating label corresponds to the voltage in the power socket.
2. Internal power source and its use
■ To power the baby and parent units A2andA1using an internal power source, use the supplied
rechargeable Li-Ion batteries (3.7 V/ 800 mAh / 3.3 Wh).
■ Inserting and removing the battery
– For safety reasons, the battery compartment cover Bqa on the baby unit A2is secured by
ascrew. Remove the screw. Take off the cover. Insert the Li-Ion battery into the compartment
Bqa so that the contacts point towards the bottom right corner of the compartment Bqa. Put
the cover back on and secure in place with the screw. To remove the battery from the baby unit
A2, proceed in the reverse sequence.

9
Digital Video Baby Monitor EN
– On the parent unit A1, slide the battery compartment cover Cw; downwards. Insert the Li-Ion
battery into the compartment Cw; so that the contacts point towards the top left corner of the
compartment Cw;. Close the cover. To remove the battery from the parent unit A1, proceed
in the reverse sequence.
■ Charging the battery
– Before first using the baby and parent units A2and A1independently of an external power
source, allow the batteries to fully recharge. Afull charge takes approximately 8 hours. When
the baby and parent units A2andA1are connected to an external power source, the battery
will start charging if correctly placed in the respective compartment. The LED indicator light B6
on the baby unit A2and the LED indicator light C2on the parent unit A1will be lit red.
– You may use the baby and parent units A2and A1while they are charging. When the parent
unit A1is running, you may watch the charging progress on the screen C3.
– When the battery is fully charged, the LED indicator B6andC2will be lit green, when the
respective unit is running, or it will turn off when the respective unit is turned off. When you
disconnect the baby and parent units A2and A1from the power socket after charging them,
you may use them independently of an external power source.
– We do not recommend discharging the battery too much, or otherwise to recharge it when it is
almost fully charged. The optimal temperature for operation and storage of the battery is around
20 °C.
– Battery operation minimises electro-smog which arises due to the effect of alternating electric
and magnetic fields.
– Both units are equipped with asignal indicating an almost flat battery. When the battery inside
the baby unit A2is almost flat, the LED indicator Bqf will start flashing red. The almost flat
status of the parent unit A1is signalled by agreen flashing LED indicator C2and by the symbol
being shown together with amessage "Low Battery" on screen C3. If you do not connect
the baby unit A2and/or the parent unit A1to an external power source for the battery to
recharge, it will turn itself off automatically after acertain time. The LED power indicator B6
and/or C2will turn off.
– If you are planning on not using the baby monitor for an extended period of time, we recommend
that you allow the batteries to discharge to half their capacity, then take them out of the baby
monitor and store them out of the reach of children.
