Front Carry Positions
Front Inward Facing
Using The JACS – Front Carry
Front Outward Facing
The JACS can be used in the Front-Carry positions from approximately 3 months, and upwards. To carry
babies under 3 months - a JACS Infant Insert Pad (sold separately) is required
Appropriate for babies aged from 3 months on-
wards.
Head Support in “Up” position.
Appropriate for babies aged from approximately 6
months onwards.
Head Support in “Down” position.
Connect the Harness by fastening the belt and chest
strap by connecting the quick release buckles.
The harness can be adjusted at the side strap and chest
strap points, and should be adjusted to create a snug t.
The Harness is worn like a waistcoat - with the waist and
chest strap buckles at the front.
It is not essential to fasten the chest strap when using
the Baby Carrier in the front carry position. If the chest
strap is against the baby’s head, it can be un-fastened
and tucked behind the harness when the chest strap is
not in use.
Adjusting the Harness
NOTE
1

The baby carrier should be attached to the harness by
connecting the lower straps quick release buckles, side
straps karabiner/MOLLE connections, and upper straps
quick release buckles, in that order. The connections lo-
cated at point 4 are for attaching the backpack shoulder
straps and back-carry straps. They are not intended for
connecting the babycarrier unit to the harness.
Adjust the Baby-Carrier for the approximate height and
width of the baby by adjusting the lower and side strap
lengths through the ladder lock connections. Gently pull
or release the strap through the ladder lock to achieve
the required length.
Prior to placing the child in the Baby-Carrier, release the
2 x upper connection straps, and one of the side connec-
tions straps of the Baby-Carrier, to enable the child to be
easily placed in the carrier.
The Baby-Carrier should be attached to the harness us-
ing the lower connection straps, and one side strap, to
create a secured and accessible pouch.

NOTE
The Baby-Carrier can be adjusted to create a comfort-
able t for the child, by adjusting the lower, side, and up-
per strap lengths as necessary.
The carry height can be adjusted by connecting the side
strap Karabiners to higher or lower MOLLE strap loops
on the harness.
The height can also be adjusted by pulling the lower car-
rier connection straps and buckles through the retaining
loop, and adjusting to the shortest setting, to achieve a
higher carry position.

The Leg-Straps should be secured by passing the strap
end through the corresponding webbing strap loop, and
secured at the required length using the snap-fastener.
There are two adjustment settings available – either
shortening or lengthening the strap by connecting the
press stud fasteners to the corresponding studs on the
strap.
The child can be removed from the carrier by re-
leasing the upper connection straps.
While supporting the child in the carrier, disconnect
one of the side strap Karabiner connections, and
gently lift the child from the Baby-Carrier.
The Baby-Carrier can now be removed from the Harness
by disconnecting the remaining side strap Karabiner,
and lower strap connections.
The harness and carrier can also be removed by discon-
necting the chest strap buckle, and loosening the har-
ness side straps, to allow the harness to be taken o by
lifting over the head.

NOTE

Wearing the Harness and Carrier (Step 1)
Ensure that the chest strap is disconnected, and the side straps are loosened, prior to wearing
the harness and carrier.
With the child secured in the carrier and harness, and the harness front facing toward you, lift
the harness on to either shoulder by gripping and lifting the left or right shoulder straps with
your left or corresponding hand (your arm should cross your body when positioned correctly).
Wearing the Harness and Carrier (Step 2)
Supporting the child and baby-carrier component with your free hand, gently lift and slide the
harness on to the left or right shoulder.
The remaining harness shoulder strap can then be gently placed on the torso as if putting on
a jacket or waistcoat – taking care that the harness and carrier remain in a vertical position.
It may help to lean forward slightly during this step, in order to minimise and risk of the harness
and carrier slipping.
Adjusting the Harness
Connect the harness using the waist buckle connec-
tion and chest strap connection.
The harness can now be adjusted at the side strap and
chest strap points, and should be adjusted to create a
snug t.
1. To remove the baby/child from the carrier unit during solo back-carrying, carry out the above in-
structions in reverse.
2. The baby/child can be placed in or removed from the carrier unit by a second adult by following the
steps shown for Front Carrying. Ensuring that the child is safely supported during the insertion and/
or removal process.

Attaching Accessories
The JACS Baby-Carrier features a unique mounting platform. This allows a variety of accessories to be
attached to the carrier harness, giving the user the option to build a exible and adaptable carrying
system. Accessories are available to purchase via www.jacs-babycarrier.com .
Backpack Attachment
The Backpack is designed to attach to the harness using 4 “male”
side release connections, and can be attached and removed with the
Harness and Baby-Carrier in situ.
Attach the 2 x shoulder strap buckles (1) connect to the top buckles
at the front of the harness.
The lower strap buckles (2) connect to the corresponding buckles on
the harness waist strap, and can be adjusted for a snug t.
The Backpack Adaptor Straps must be removed to enable direct
connection to the harness.
Backpack Adaptor Straps
To use the Backpack o-system, simply connect the
2 Adaptor Straps to the Backpack shoulder strap and
lower strap connections, and adjust as required.
Chest-Pouch
The Chest-Pouch has 4 “male” side release buckle connec-
tions, and is designed to attach to the harness using the
multi-purpose connection platform.
Custom JACS Chest Pouches feature additional MOLLE con-
nections on the rear of the pouch unit - providing additional
functionality. These are not a standard feature.

NOTE

Chest-Pouch
The Chest-Pouch attaches to the upper (1) and lower (2) Baby-Car-
rier connections on the harness front.
Attach the upper connections rst, and remove in reverse order.
The JACS Baby Carrier Liner
Care and Maintenance
The JACS Baby-Carrier features a removable cotton liner. This allows the carrier to continue be-
ing used, when liners become soiled. Replacement/Spare liners are available to purchase via
www.jacs-babycarrier.com.
Before using The JACS, always ensure that you check for any damage or defects. The Baby-Carrier unit
should not be used in the event that any damage or defect is found.
When not in use, ensure that The JACS is stored indoors, in a dry environment, and is not stored in direct
sunlight or at high temperatures.
Continuous use of The JACS in strong sunlight can cause fabrics to fade.
The JACS can be spot cleaned using a mild detergent.
For machine washing, ensure that all Karabiner connections are removed, and place The JACS compo-
nents in a pillowcase, or similar bag. This will ensure that the various connections do not become dam-
aged during washing, and that these do not in turn damage your washing machine.
The JACS can be washed at a low temperature, using a mild laundry detergent.
Allow The JACS to air dry fully prior to use.
Liner Removal
Remove the Liner by simply pulling the liner away from
the Baby-Carrier inner, gripping the liner in one hand
and the Baby-Carrier in the other.
Liner replacement
The liner can be replaced by laying the Baby-Carrier
at, with the inner surface facing upward.
Align the Carrier and Liner Velcro, and press down along
the edges.

The JACS Infant Insert Pad
The JACS Baby-Carrier can also be tted with our Infant Insert Pad. This allows the carrier to be used
for carrying babies prior to 3 month old. The Infant Insert Pad is designed to be placed between the
removable cotton carrier liner and the carrier inner surface.
Insert Pad
The Infant Insert Pad features a soft airmesh
padded “baby facing” outer surface – backed
with 1000D Nylon Cordura.
The pad has two raised cushioned areas – de-
signed to encourage little legs into the M (Frog-
gy) position as recommended by the IHDI.
Insert Pad
The Insert Pad should be placed below the re-
movable carrier liner.
Simply disconnect the carrier liner in the seat
area of the carrier (as shown above) and slide the
Insert Pad into position.
The airmesh should be facing upwards, and the
raised cushions should be centered between the
leg openings.

The JACS Footrest Stirrups
The JACS Baby-Carrier can also be tted with Footrest Stirrups. These provide additional support for the
legs and hips of growing passengers and can be attached for front and rear carrying using the D Rings
located at the base of the harness.
Front and Rear Harness Fitting
To attach the stirrups, simply thread the end of the
strap through the D-Ring on the front or rear of the
harness (the same side as the babycarrier is attached)
and secure with the 2 press stud fasteners.
Adjust for height by pulling the loose end of the strap
at the buckle.
Babycarrier Fitting
For front outward facing carrying – the stirrups can
be attached to the MOLLE loops below the carrier
unit zipped pocket.
This attachment option provides a more ergonomic
position in line with the natural positioning of the
legs.

The JACS Sun/Rain Screen
The JACS Baby-Carrier Screen is designed to be tted to the harness and carrier unit – and provides
protection from the elements and shade from the sun. It can be used for both front inward and back
inward carrying positions.
The screen features elasticated straps, so the screen can ex when you move, and also allows you to
easily check on your passenger without disconnecting the screen. The Velcro lower fastening gives you
the option to quickly disconnect the screen from the carrier unit, should it be necessary.
Screen Fitting
To attach the screen, simply thread the end
of the straps through the MOLLE loops lo-
cated above the top buckles on the front of
the harness, and secure with the press stud
fastener.
The lower edge of the screen attaches to
the Velcro strip located above the baby-
carrier zipped pocket.
The screen should never be used in the out-
ward facing carry position.
NOTE

The JACS Back Carry Straps
The Back Carry Straps are essential if you are planning to use the carrier unit for back-carrying. If you
have not purchased a Complete Package, you can upgrade your JACS by ordering these components as
an add-on product.
The straps ensure that the carrier unit has all six connection points attached by attaching in place of the
top straps and buckles of the babycarrier. Not only do they help distribute some of the load, but also
keep your passenger safe by strapping them in over the shoulders. Without them, your passenger might
attempt to climb out of the carrier, or could potential fall out if you bend down to far.
Carrier Unit Attachment
Tighten the upper straps of the carrier to their
shortest position and connect to the “female”
buckle of each Back Carry Strap
Harness Attachment
Thread the Back Carry Straps through the wide
webbing loop above the three MOLLE loops on
the harness rear.
Then connect the “Male” buckle to the upper
double buckle connection on the front of the
harness.
Tighten straps as necessary for a snug t.
The Back Carry Straps can also be used in con-
junction with the Chest Pouch, enabling a high
position rear carry option for the Pouch compo-
nent.
NOTE

The JACS Chest Pouch
If you’re back carrying your passenger, the Chest Pouch connects to the front of the harness using the
same 4 connections as the babycarrier – and is ideal for short trips where all you need is a nappy/diaper,
some wipes, and a bottle.
It can also be tted to the rear of the harness – giving you an extra two set up options for your JACS
when front-carrying your passenger.
Chest-Pouch
The Chest-Pouch has 4 “male” side release buck-
le connections, and is designed to attach to the
harness front and rear using the multi-purpose
connection platform.
Chest-Pouch Front Attachment
The Chest-Pouch attaches to the upper and low-
er Baby-Carrier connections on the harness front.
Chest-Pouch Rear Attachment (high position)
The two lower Chest-Pouch connections attach
to the lower Carrier buckles on the harness rear.
The upper connections attach to the Back Carry
Straps tted in the same way as if the babycarrier
was positioned for back-carrying.
