Vehicle compatibility
This is a “Universal” child restraint. It is approved to Regulation No.
44/04 series of amendments for general use in vehicles and it will fit
most, but not all, vehicle seats.
A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared in the
vehicle handbook that the vehicle is capable of accepting a “Universal”
child restraint for this age group.
This child restraint has been classified as “Universal” under more
stringent conditions than those which applied to earlier designs which do
not carry this notice.
This child restraint is ONLY SUITABLE for use in vehicles fitted with
a 3-point static or retractable seat belt that is approved to UN/ECE
regulation No. 16 or other equivalent standards.
If in doubt, contact the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.
Base Unit compatibility
This child restraint is only compatible with Edwards & Co base models
PA0100 and PA0101.
Correct use of the child restraint
NEVER use this child restraint without installing it securely into your
vehicle.
NEVER alter or modify the child restraint in any way. This can affect its
performance in the event of a collision.
The cover and fabrics of the child restraint are integral to its
performance in the event of a collision. NEVER remove or replace the
fabrics of the child restraint unless this has been approved by Edwards &
Co.
DISCARD this child restraint if it is involved in a serious collision EVEN if
no damage is visible.

Using the harness safely
The harness buckle SHOULD ALWAYS be easily accessible. It is
important that your child can be released quickly in the event of an
emergency.
Fit the harness firmly to the child. A loose restraint or harness is
DANGEROUS.
Using the handle correctly
The carry handle MUST be set in the correct position when used.
Do not use this child restraint as a substitute baby cot or
bed
This child restraint is not intended to be a substitute baby cot or bed.
It is only designed to enable safe transportation of infants in motor
vehicles. NEVER leave a baby in the child restraint for long periods of
time.
Child restraint expiry
Do not use this child restraint if it is older than 7 years from the
manufacture date. The shell and harness can weaken over time and the
protection it provides in an accident may be reduced. See “Determining
the capsule’s expiry date”.
This child restraint should not be purchased or sold as a second hand
item unless you are sure about its history.
Stroller compatibility
This child restraint is only designed to connect to selected Edwards & Co
strollers.

your baby’s feet.
Note: Ensure you tighten or loosen the harness each time your
baby is put into or taken out of the capsule. This will ensure the
harness is always adjusted and secured appropriately for your baby.

harness towards you from
the shoulder.

16
Tightening the harness

by taking hold of both sides
of the webbing immediately
above the harness buckle and
pulling upwards.
2. Locate the harness
tensioning strap between
your child’s feet.

2. The harness is secure if
you are unable to pinch
any harness between your
fingers. Reposition the
shoulder pads on top of
your baby’s shoulders.
Note: After you have pulled the slack out of the hip and torso
portions of the harness, perform the pinch test to check if the
harness is secure.

Adjusting the harness height
1. Do the harness up. 2. Turn the capsule over and
locate the metal splitter plate
that the ends of the harness
webbing are connected to.
WARNING: Do not allow the harness to become twisted.
The harness should be snug against your child’s body.
Note: There are three height positions for the harness. As your child
grows, it is necessary to move the harness according to your child’s
shoulder height. The harness should be inserted through the slots in the
capsule shell that are positioned at about level with or just below your
child’s shoulders. Do not move the harness up to the next slot until
your child’s shoulders have reached the slot that you are moving the
harness into.
