loading/unloading, and maintenance of the equipment. Everyone operating the equipment
must read and understand these precautions before operating the equipment. OSHA and state
safety agency rules must be complied with in addition to those given in the safety section and
elsewhere in this manual. Applicable plant general safety practices must also be followed.
BACA Systems designed your Miter X with safety in mind. Throughout this manual, safety
precautions and warnings are highlighted for specific operations. Safety precautions are also
posted on the equipment.
On-site safety and engineering personnel should develop and maintain proper work
instructions for this machine which incorporate general and specific safety instructions as found
in this manual.
On-site safety and engineering personnel should develop and maintain proper lockout-tagout
procedures for this equipment following applicable local requirements. If unsure of these
requirements you should contact your state or federal OSHA representatives.
Make a routine daily inspection of the entire machine before operating it. Visually check all
parts of the machine for abnormal conditions. If any issue is noted report it immediately to your
supervisor for immediate correction.

Never attempt to perform any maintenance functions or clean around the equipment while the
system is in operation.
Safety procedures and precautions must always be observed while working on the Miter X or
any part of the installation. Service should only be done by qualified personnel.
Personnel must take extra precautions when working on electrical systems in a damp or wet
area.
Use Proper tools. Make sure tools are well insulated for the job.
Never bypass or alter protective interlocks or devices unless specifically instructed to do so and
all precautions are followed.
Make sure that all tools, parts, rags, etc., are cleared from any moving parts after servicing the
equipment.
Control panel doors and junction boxes covers must be closed after servicing.
Do NOT use jumper wires across fuses or fuse holders. Repair any electrical issue properly
before placing the equipment back into service.
Operators must wear protective equipment when working around the Miter X. Operators must
wear goggles or safety glasses to guard against spray and flying debris. Operators and others
exposed to noise levels above 90 dBA for more than 1 hour must wear suitable hearing
protection. Operators must protect themselves from Dust Inhalation hazards that may exist
near the machine.
BACA Systems recommends that plant/work-site safety personnel approve all safety equipment
and/or requirements for everyone working on or around the Miter X.
Proper LOCKOUT/TAGOUT procedures must always be followed when servicing and/or
maintaining the Miter X. Be aware that live electrical circuits are present in the control cabinet
whenever the master disconnect is ON, regardless of whether the estop button is pressed or
released.

Operation
Preparation
-Connect 220V 3P 60Hz to main disconnect through the cord grip. Tigthen the cord grip to
ensure the cable doesn’t move. (Figure 1.1.1)
-Remove zip ties on Cat-Track and red shipping brackets.
-Connect minimum of 80PSI air connection to the regulator. Make sure the regulator is set to
80PSI to 0.5 Mpa. (Figure 1.1.2)
-Connect water connection to water connection on the back of the machine. (Figure 1.1.3)

StartUp
-Turn on the power disconnect and wait until the blue light illuminate. (Figure 1.2.1)
-Once the blue light illuminate, it means the power is turned on. (Figure 1.2.1)
-Wait for red blinking on saw stop and carriage stop button. This red blinking means that the
PLC is ready to be operated. (Figure 1.2.2)
-Press reset button to reset the safety on the machine and the machine is ready to be
operated. (Figure 1.2.1)
Standard Operation
-Figure 1.3.1 is the operator station to operate the machine. From left to right listed
oRaise roller
▪Raise table roller to reduce friction between stone and table. Operator can
easily move the stone once it raised.
oLower Clamp
▪Lower the clamp to make sure the stone is not moving when it’s being
mittered
oMove left carriage
▪Move the cutting unit to the left
oStop carriage
▪Stop the movement of the cutting unit
oCarriage speed
▪Adjust the movement speed of the cutting unit
oMove right carriage
▪Move the cutting unit to the right
oStart Saw
▪Start the saw
oStop Saw
▪Stop the saw

V1.05 Revised 03/16/2021
-There are several restriction to operate the machine. Below is the list of restriction:
oTo raise the roller, the clamp need to be raised.
oTo lower the clamp, the roller need to be roller.
oTo start the carriage, the roller need to be lowered.
oTo start the saw, the roller need to be lowered and the clamp also need to be
lowered.
oE-Stop need to disable and reseted.
oBoth saw stop and carriage stop can’t be blinking. If saw stop pushbutton or
carriage pushbutton is blinking, there may have faults in the VFD.
-Step by step procedure to miter a stone.
oMake sure carriage is in the home position and the motor and the water is
turned OFF.
oCheck for any loose debris, scrap material that may be leftover from previous
cuts, and dispose of.
oClamps and rollers need to be disengaged or OFF.
oPlace larger pieces to be mitered on the Miter X table and now engage the
rollers. The pieces will now be off the table and moving the stone into
position will be easier. Align pieces up against the hard stop.
oOnce in position, lower the rollers
oEngage the clamps to hold pieces in place.
oMake sure the potentiometer (speed knob) is set to zero.
oTurn on the motor and water.
oDepress the blue button to engage the carriage moves to the right to begin
cutting.
oSlowly turn up the speed knob to increase the speed and movement of the
carriage. Be carefull on turning up the speed of the carriage. Make sure the
saw current indicator does NOT surpass 20A.
oAs the blade begins to contact the stone adjust the speed for desired results,
cutting speeds vary from stone to stone.
oOnce the cutting is complete send the carriage to the home position and
then clear out any debris for the next batch of cuts.
Maintenance
-Inspect and lubricate linear rails weekly at a minimum.
oWith the carriage in motion, slowly pump oil to lubricate rails. Use Chevron
Multifak EP00 grease or an acceptable subsititue.
-Hose down table between jobs.
-Wash rollers between jobs.
-Ckech rollers for smooth operation and/or damage daily.
-Replace rollers immediately wen needed. Rollers are a consumable.
