Systemübersicht / System overview
Das System ist für Anwendungen mit bis zu 8 Sensoren ausgelegt. Es
besteht aus zwei Komponenten - Base (Steuerungsseite) und Remote
(Sensorseite).
The system is designed for applications with up to 8 sensors. It consists
of two components: Base (control system side) and Remote (sensor
side).
Funktionshinweise / Notes about Function
Bei elektronischen Sensoren in Standardausführung ist folgendes zu
beachten:
• Achten Sie darauf, dass die Gesamtstromaufnahme der
Sensoren nicht größer als 500 mA und die Leitungslänge
kleiner als 20 m ist.
• Verwenden Sie nur Sensoren mit einer Spannung von 24 V
DC.
• 2-Draht Sensoren können mit pull-up oder pull-down Wider-
ständen genutzt werden.
For the standard version of electronic sensors, observe the following:
• Make certain that the total power consumption of the sen-
sors is not greater than 500 mA and the cable length is less
than 20 m.
• Only use sensors with a voltage of 24 V DC.
• 2-wire sensors are possible to use with a pull-up or pull-
down resistor.

Bei mechanischen Schaltern in Standardausführung ist folgendes zu
beachten:
• Verwenden Sie Schalter für kleine Lastströme und achten
Sie auf eine Leitungslänge kleiner 20 m.
• Verwenden Sie Schalter mit einem Reststrom I <0,1 mA in
offenem Schaltzustand. Der Gesamtwiderstand des Strom-
kreises sollte kleiner als 10 kΩsein um den Signalzustand
sicher zu erkennen.
For the standard version of mechanical switches, observe the following:
• Use switches for small load currents and make sure the cab-
le length is less than 20 m.
• Use switches with a residual current I <0.1 mA in the open
switching state. The total resistance of the circuit should be
less than 10 kΩto reliably detect the signal state.
Installation
Gegenseitige Beeinflussung / Mutual interference
Um eine gegenseitige Beeinflussung von nebeneinander liegenden
Base und Remote zu vermeiden, müssen die angegebenen Mindest-
abstände eingehalten werden.
To prevent mutual interference with adjacent Bases or Remotes, the
specified minimum distances must be adhered to:

Einbau in Metall / Installation in metal
In metallischen Umgebungen besteht die Gefahr der Beschädigung des
Gerätes durch Induktionseffekte!
Metallische Objekte auf der Spulenkappe führen zur Erhitzung der
Objekte. Die Komponenten so einbauen, dass sich keine metallischen
Objekte auf der Spulenkappe ansammeln können.
There is a risk in metallic environments to damage the device due to
induction effects!
Metallic objects on the coil cap cause the objects to be heated.
Install the components so that no metallic objects can collect on the coil
cap.

Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Induktive Koppelsysteme (BIC) sind Geräte zur berührungs-
losen Energie- und Signalübertragung in industriellen Umge-
bungen.
Unzulässig ist insbesondere die Verwendung:
•in Umgebung mit explosiver Atmosphäre,
•in Anwendung bei denen die Sicherheit von
Personen oder Maschinen von übertragenen Sig-
nalen abhängt. (Sicherheitsrelevante Schaltungen).
Intended use
Inductive coupling systems (BIC) are devices for contactless
energy and signal transmission in industrial environments.
Prohibited is the use:
•in environment with explosive atmosphere.
•In application where the safety of persons or
machines depends on the transmitted signals.
(Safety circuits).
Vorsicht!
Verbrennungsgefahr durch heiße Oberflächen! Die aktive
Fläche erwärmt sich schon unter normalen Einsatz-
bedingungen. Hände und Gegenstände von der aktiven
Fläche fern halten. Metallische Gegenstände dürfen nicht in
Zone A, B und zwischen die aktiven Flächen von Base und
Remote gelangen. Brandgefahr!
Caution!
Risk of burning on hot surfaces! The sensing surface heats
up under normal operating conditions. Keep hands and
objects away from the active surface. Metallic objects should
not reach the area between the sensing surfaces of the
Base and Remote units. Fire hazard!
Schutz vor elektromagnetischen Feldern bei Betrieb und
Montage
In einem
Abstand von 300mm beträgt die magnetische Feld-
stärke eines BIC weniger als 0,092µT. Basierend auf der EU
-
Ratsempfehlung 1999/519/EG gilt dieser Abstand nach EN
62311:2008 als Basisgrenzwert oder Referenzwert für die
Sicherheit von Personen in elektr
omagnetischen Feldern.
Für Personen mit aktiven Körperhilfsmitteln gelten unter U
m-
ständen weitere (betriebliche) Grenzwerte.

from electromagnetic fields during operation

At the distance of 300mm, the magnetic field intensity of the
BIC is less than 0,092 μT. This distance has ascertained based
on the reference values of the EU council recommend
ation
1999/519/EC (EN 62311:2008) and has to be ensuring as
value for safety of human exposure to electromagnetic fields.
