2. SCOPE OF THE DOCUMENT
The DEP/PCI Installation Guide describes how the DEP/PCI card is installed. The
DEP/PCI is intended to be installed either in a Banksys DEP Platform (DEP/NT,
DEP/XP or DEP/T6) or in a customer shielded PC.

4. DEP/PCI HARDWARE INSTALLATION
4.1. INTRODUCTION
Normally, a banksys technician from the DEP TECH Group does the initial
installation of the hardware. In case of technical problems or the wish to add
additional DEP Crypto Modules, don’t hesitate to contact banksys.
In some circumstances it could be useful to be able to add additional DEP Crypto
Modules yourself. Therefore the complete installation procedure is explained.

4.2. INSTALLATION DEP/PCI
This paragraph contains a copy of the leaflet that is included in the package of the
DEP/PCI.
Your PC or server must have an available bus mastering PCI slot.
Follow the steps to install the card:
1. Open the shipping container and inspect each item for damage
2. Remove all jewellery from your hands and wrists
3. Use only insulated non-conducting tools
4. Close all open programs and shut down the PC (or server)
5. Unplug the PC and disconnect all cables from the PC
6. Remove the PC upper cover
7. Choose an empty bus mastering PCI slot
8. Unscrew the screw holding the PCI slot’s back plate and remove it
9. Set correctly (on both pins
) battery supply jumper next to batteries. The
battery jumper is only available for version lower than DEP/PCI v4.x.
10. Insert the card into the empty PCI slot
11. Secure the card with the screw you removed earlier
12. Fix the PC upper cover and reconnect all previously connected cables
13. Turn on the power to the PC
14. At first use, wait for two hours to charge batteries before using the card
15. Proceed with the software installation (see the adequate Installation Guide)
A front panel giving direct access to the C-ZAM/DEP connector can be ordered
separately, for the banksys DEP Platform DEP/NT and DEP/XP, or for the customer
shielded PC with an open bay at the front:

4.3. FINISH INSTALLATION
Close again the DEP Platform and power on the DEP Platform.
5. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
For the installation of the software that goes with the DEP/PCI cards, please refer to
the DEP Installation Guide manual.
6. FCC CLASS B CERTIFICATION
The DEP/PCI v4 has been tested and complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules:
6.1. GENERAL REQUIREMENT
The DEP/PCI card is intended to be used in a closed metallic (shielded) computer
case. The user is cautioned that changes or modifications not expressly approved by
the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the
equipment.

6.2. FOR THE CANADA
The DEP/PCI v4 card, a Class B digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003.
La carte DEP/PCI v4, un appareil numérique de la classe B est conforme à la norme
NMB-003 du Canada.
6.3. FOR THE USA
The DEP/PCI v4 equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a
Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are
designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential
installation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not
installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference
to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception,
which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged
to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
•Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
•Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
•Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which
the receiver is connected.
•Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
