Introduction
Bano’s height-adjustable cisterns can be adjusted either manually with a crank or electrically.
This lightens the carer’s work load because one person can quickly and easily adjust the
height of the toilet to t the users need. The height of the toilet can be adjusted 20cm.
The cistern is supplied either with a manual hand crank or with electrical height adjustment.
With simple steps the height of the toilet and the WC grab bars can be adjusted. For
bathrooms with external pipes an extension for the cistern must be used. For more
information see Bano interface on www.bano.no
Electrical adjustment is operated by a button on the top of the cistern. For manual
adjustment, use the accompanying crank.

With external pipes, please use an extension (5970-22/5970-23), either 50 mm or 100 mm.

Water outlet on left side as shown in illustration.
Placement of stopvalve: because of moving parts when
adjusting the cistern’s height the stop valve must be placed
exactly as is shown on the illustration.
Stopvalves are turned as shown on drawing.
Concerning water; nish with stop valve with 1/2” external
threads (G15). (Threads pointing up)
Drainpipe in oor: Ø110 drainpipe without cu󰀨 is nished

Step 2:
Raise the cistern to the top position and secure to the wall with appropriate screws for the wall. Bano
recommends M8 A4 DIN571 Hex head wood screws.. For concrete Bano recommends French wood screws
M6 in combination with a nylon plug.
Fixing to wall
Make sure never to perforate wet walls completely. Clean the holes after drilling. Make sure to use sealant
approved for application on wet walls. See illustration.
Please note that the product guarantee only applies when the wall and screws are dimensioned
according to «Byggebransjens Våtromsnorm» and Bano interface for products mounted in Norway. For
products mounted in other countries, please note that the product guarantee only applies when wall and screws
are dimensioned according to national guidelines/regulations and Bano interface.
Tiled wooden wall:
Make sure never to perforate wet walls completely. Drill holes with a 10 mm drill bit through the tiles only. Clean
and ll the hole with sealant approved for application on wet walls. See illustration.
Tiled concrete wall:
Drill holes using a 12 mm drill bit through the tiles only. Switch to a 10 mm drill bit for further drilling through the
concrete. Fill the hole with sealant, place a nylon plug in the hole and ll the plug with sealant. See illustration.
Other wall materials (bathroom boards, vinyl):
Make sure never to perforate wet walls completely. Drill holes which are dimentioned for said type of wall. Fill
the hole with sealant, place a nylon plug in the hole and ll the plug with sealant. See illustration.

Step 1:
Lower the cistern to the bottom position and secure to the wall with appropriate screws for the wall. Bano
recommends M8 A4 DIN571 Hex head wood screws. For concrete Bano recommends French wood screws
M6 in combination with a nylon plug.

Adjustment in case of uneven oor
If uneven oors (eg. slope towards the drain) cistern
can be adjusted using the adjustment screws
found on the bottom of each side. 5970-MA can be
adjusted from above with a hexagon wrench, M5.
5970S3-EL can be adjusted from above by hand.

The cistern be adjusted up or down with the crank (MA) or by connecting it to the power grid (EL) in order to
get to the mounting holes while installing.

Step 3:
The cistern frame must be waterproof against the oor and
wall or the extension for the cistern.
NB! As a warning for any leakage in the cistern, there must
be a 5 cm long opening under the frame in the front corner
towards the drain. (See picture)
Silicone must be applied ALL the way around the cistern
frame – against the wall or the extension module
If the extension module is mounted between the cistern
frame and the wall, this must also be applied with silicone
all around. (Remember to remove protective plastic on the
extension module before applying silicone.)
The side- and front covers are mounted when the silicone is
dry.

NB! Make sure the valves are open. Both inside the cistern and next to the drain pipe.
NB! On the MA-model you have to make sure the shaft stays clear of the nuts and threaded rods.

NB! The EL-model does not have a crank, but it
has two nuts for each side of the cistern.
NOTE! 5920-BVT Bano swivel toilet: Before installing
the cistern cover, the cistern must be connected to
Bluetooth. For Bluetooth connection see page 17.
NB! It is important that the spacer sleeve is
mounted together with the nut.

5970S3-EL: The height on the WC is adjusted by using the button on the top of the cistern. The
cistern is raised by pushing the “up”-button and lowered by using the “down”-button.
The cistern stops as soon as the button is released.
5970-MA: When using the manual height-adjustment the crank installed on the side of the cistern is
used. This crank can be mounted on both sides of the cistern. The crank must be pushed in before it
can be used. The crank can easily be removed and replaced with a nut.

NB! Applies to 5920-BVT Bano swivel toilet only.
The cistern must be connected to power.
The toilet bowl must be placed close to the cistern.
Push the UP- and DOWN-buttons on the left side + the UP button on the right side for about 5 seconds. Let go of the
buttons when you hear the beeping.
You will now hear slow beeping for a few seconds before the beeping switches to fast
beeping.
When you hear the fast beeping, push the UP-button on the left side to conrm the connection.
Check if the connection is OK by raising and lowering the cistern. If you can’t get the connection right the rst time,
you can try several times.
