a) General
• Theunauthorizedconversionand/ormodicationof
the product is not permitted for reasons of safety
and approval.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of
the reach of children.
• Please handle the product carefully: The product
can get damaged, if crushed, struck or dropped,
even from a low height.
• If you discover that the product is damaged, do not
use it any longer and take it to a specialised work-
shop or dispose of it in an environmentally friendly
manner.
8

• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the appliance ceases to function
- the device was stored for a longer period of time
in unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not leave the packaging material unattended,
since it could become a dangerous plaything for
children.
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regula-
tions of the association of the industrial workers’
society for electrical equipment and utilities must
be followed.
• If you have any questions that are not answered
in these operating instructions, please contact our
technical support centre or consult a professional.
b) AC adapter
• The design of the plug-in power adapter complies
with IEC Protection Class II (double insulated elec-
trical appliances).
• Connect the AC adapter only to a proper outlet of
the public supply network.
9

• The power socket for the AC adapter should be
near the exterior station and easily accessible.
• The AC adapter is only suitable for indoor use in dry
interiors; it must never get damp or wet. There is a
risk of a life-threatening electric shock.
• Do not pull the AC adapter from the mains socket
by pulling on the cable.
• Protect the cable of the AC adapter from sharp
edges and do not step on it.
• If the AC adapter is damaged, do not touch it. There
is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Switch off the mains voltage to the mains socket to
which the power adapter is connected (e.g., switch
off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove
the safety fuse and then switch off the correspond-
ing RCD).
• You can then unplug the power adapter from the
mains socket. Replace the damaged AC power
adapter with an AC adapter of the same design.
10

c) Exterior unit
• The exterior unit is suitable for use in in- and out-
door areas. However, it must never be used in or
under water, as this will destroy it.
• Install the exterior unit in the outdoor area under an
eave (e.g., a canopy).
• Make sure that the connection cable is not pinched
or damaged by sharp edges.
• Mount the exterior unit in such a way that the cam-
era is not pointing towards bright sources of light
(e.g., sun and/or ood lights). Not only does this
lead to an overexposed and unusable image, but
it may also damage the image sensor due to the
impact of constant exposure.
• Observe any applicable regulations that may apply
to the operation of the camera and/or its orientation
towards a certain ambient area before installing the
exterior unit.

7. Installation and connection
a) Installing the exterior unit
The exterior unit should be installed in the protected outdoor area
near the front door (e.g., under a canopy), so that a visitor would
have to stand directly in front of it to press the bell push button.
The exterior unit should be installed in an environment
that features better wireless signal strength. Use a
repeater as well, if the signal at the preferred location
isinsufcient.Alternatively, you can also connect the
exterior unit to your network via a LAN cable.
Select the installation height so that the
camera points towards the face of the visi-
tor.
Fasten the weatherproof frame of the exte-
rior unit to the wall using suitable screws,
and if required, wall plugs. Alternatively,
the exterior unit can be glued to the wall
merely by means of the adhesive surface
on the back.
An appropriate opening in the centre of the frame to route the
cables is provided. A drill hole with a diameter of 8 - 10 mm is
required for the wall duct.
13

Install the exterior unit on a sturdy surface only, do not
use metal surfaces and do put it near other electric/
electronic appliances.
Be careful not to damage cables or wires while drilling
and/or bolting down! The same goes for laying the con-
nection cables (voltage/power supply and door opener)
and any necessary masonry.
Arrange the exterior unit into
the weatherproof frame,as
shown in the following picture
(introduce at an angle upwards,
then tilt downwards). After that
secure the exterior unit in the
weatherproof frame with the
screw provided.
b) Connecting the exterior unit
Connect all wires according to the following connection diagram.
10 disposable cable splices are provided to connect the wires.
Insert each of the two wires you intend to connect into one of the
two holes of the splice. Then squeeze the orange part into the
splice, as shown in the connection diagram.
14

• Connect the WLAN antenna included within the delivery con-
tent to the terminal “Antenna” (screw connection/SMA).
• Connect the red wire of the AC adapter to the red cable “Pow-
er in DC+(12V)”.
• Connect the black wire of the AC adapter to the black cable
“Power in DC+(12V)”.
• Connect the door opener to the wires “Lock Relay COM” and
“Lock Relay NO”. The wire coming from the door opener must
be connected to the yellow cable and the wire coming from the
power supply must be connected to the purple cable.
The exterior unit has a potential-free door release relay with a
capacity of max. 36 V (AC/DC) and max. 3 A. The door release
can function as an opener.
15

Door opener of the type “Fail Secure” (working current
- door opener):
This door opener is commonly used as door opener for
residential front doors.
The lock of the latch in the door opener is only unlocked
when operating current is present; e.g., when the door
opener button in the apartment is pressed. Then the
door is opened and the visitor gets access to the apart-
ment. In the absence of the operating current, the door
is locked.
Important!
The exterior unit works only with a stabilised direct cur-
rent of 12 V/DC. Never connect AC voltage (e.g., a bell
transformer) to the exterior unit; this will destroy the
exterior unit; loss of guarantee/warranty!
The relay contact is potential-free, therefore both, DC
voltage and AC voltage, can be connected here to op-
erate the door opener.
16

• If necessary, connect to the wires “Lock Relay COM” and
“Lock Relay NO” an additional doorbell. The wire coming
from the bell must be connected to the grey cable and the wire
coming from the power supply must be connected to the white
cable.
The exterior unit features a potential-free relay for an addition-
al bell with a load capacity of max. 36 V (AC/DC) and max. 3 A.
When the bell push button is pressed, the relay will close also.
The relay contact is potential-free, therefore both
DC voltage and AC voltage can be connected here
to operate the extra bell.
• Finally, we also have the option to connect the network adapt-
er. This of course is only necessary if you intend to operate the
exterior unit via LAN instead of WLAN.
Insert the 4 wires “Net RF45” of the exterior unit into the pins of
the network adapters as follows and then close the tiny trans-
parent cover, which will squeeze the cables onto the contacts.
Orange/white = Pin1; orange = Pin2; green/white = Pin3; green
= Pin6
You can now connect the network cable to the adapter as the
connection to your router.
17

8. Installation and initial launch of the
app
Your smartphone or tablet should be connected to the
same WLAN as the WiFi door intercom system so that
itcanbeconguredoroperated.
