Disconnect from Y-Splitter
COUNTER-CLOCKWISE
Connect to Tank
CLOCKWISE
Disconnect from Tank
COUNTER-CLOCKWISE
1. Connect Y-Splitter to LPG Cylinder CLOCKWISE; Hand Tighten.
2. Connect LPG Hose Regulator assembly to each outlet of Y-Splitter CLOCKWISE;
Hand Tighten.
3. Check for gas leaks. See Gas Leak Testing below.
4. Follow Lighting and Operating Instructions
from your LP Gas Appliances.
1. Close the regulator control valve/knob on each LPG hose. This shuts off the flow of
gas from the regulator to the appliance knob.
2. Open LP cylinder valve by 1/8 to 1/4 turn. This allows gas into the regulator and
stops it at the closed regluators.
3. Using a small brush or spray bottle, splash on a
soapy liquid (ex. Dishwashing liquid and water,
or 50% non-ammonia soap and 50% water)
on the connections around the regulator and
cylinder connection. Figure #1
Any bubbles that appear indicate a gas leak.
If so, turn off the gas and tighten the fittings
some more. Repeat soapy water test until
no leaks are detected. Do Not use appliance
if gas leak cannot be stopped.
Call 1-800-864-6194 for assistance. M-F 8:00 - 5:00 CST; or contact a qualified
appliance repair service.
4. After you are certain there are no leaks, turn LP Cylinder valve and regulator
valves/knobs to "OFF" position. Wait 5 minutes for any gas fumes to go away
before lighting the appliances.
GAS LEAK TESTING
Figure #1
Spray ALL tank, valve and hose
connections with a soapy liquid to
check for gas leaks. Appearance
of bubbles indicates a leak.

TYPE-1 CONNECTOR
For connection to
LP Gas Cylinder
or "Y" Splitter
TYPE-1 Connector
Coupling Nut
LP gas appliances are equipped with a
Type-1 Connection device having these features:
1. The system will not allow gas flow from
the cylinder until a positive connection to the cylinder valve
has been made. NOTE: The cylinder valve must be turned
OFF clockwise before any connection is made or removed.
2. A flow limiting device, when activated, restricts the flow of gas
to 10 cubic feet per hour. The purpose of this safety feature is
to greatly reduce gas flow should the LPG hose be cut or severed.
NOTE: The Flow Limiting Device can be activated by:
1. Opening cylinder valve quickly.
2. Opening regulator valves quickly.
3. Using regulators having greater than 10 PSI capacity.
REMEMBER: Using the "Y" Splitter and two regulators creates a triple safety net
from the three Type-1 connectors. Each of the three Type-1 Connectors can restrict
gas flow by up to 90 percent. To reduce the chance of gas flow restriction, always
open cylinder valve S-L-O-W-L-Y. Always open regulator valves S-L-O-W-L-Y.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If the burner on your appliance lights, but the flame remains very small, it probably
means that rapid gas flow has activated the Excess Flow Safety Device. To maintain
proper gas flow, be certain to S-L-O-W-L-Y open cylinder valve one full turn before
lighting; then S-L-O-W-L-Y open regulator to light burner.
NOTE: Make certain both regulator valves atached to the "Y" Splitter are in the
closed position before lighting. If not, the Excess Flow Safety Device can be activated
when cylinder valve is opened.
NOTE: Using LPG regulators having greater than 10 PSI output capacity can activate
the Excess Flow Safety Device. Therefore, always use LPG regulators having a maximum
output of 10 PSI or less.

GENERAL OPERATING of Outdoor Gas Appliances
• LPG appliances do not have automatic thermostat controls so must be
attended and monitored at all times during use.
• LPG appliances have an open flame. In sunlight or other bright light, the
flame may be almost invisible. Use extreme caution keeping hands, hair and
clothing away from the burner. Do not lean over the burner when lighting.
Loose hair and clothing can catch fire during lighting and operation.
• DO NOT leave LPG appliances unattended while heating oil, grease or
water, cooking food or when hot after use (oil, grease or water above 115˚F:
45˚C). Heated liquid can remain at scalding temperatures long after cooking
has ended.
• When cooking with oil/grease, a thermometer must be used to monitor
temperature. Oil/grease heated above 400˚F (200˚C) will ignite and catch
fire causing property damage, personal injury or death.
•Even when burner is set at a low flame, never leave the appliance unattended.
Cooking oil/grease will heat up quickly and ignite at 550˚F to 700˚F
(287˚C to 371˚C).
• Keep children and pets away from the cooking area at all times. Carefully
monitor all activity around appliance to avoid burns or other injuries.
•Avoid bumping of or impact with the appliance to prevent spillage or splashing
of hot cooking liquid which can cause sever burns.
• DO NOT move the appliance when in use. Allow cooking vessel to cool
down to 115˚F (45˚C) before moving, cleaning or storing.
• Should the burner flame go out during use, turn all gas valves off. Wait 5
minutes for gas to evacuate before re-lighting.
•Never overfill a cooking vessel with oil, grease or water. Overfilled cooking
vessels can boil over and cause a fire.
• After a period of storage or nonuse, check the appliance for gas leaks and
burner obstructions before use.
•Sober adult operation ONLY! The use of alcohol, prescription or nonprescription
drugs may impair ability to properly assemble or safely operate an
LPG appliance.
• When cooking with oil/grease, have a Type BC or ABC fire extinguisher
readily accessible.
•Combustion by-products from the use of this product contain chemicals known
to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive
harm.
