FOREWORD
Dear Customer,
welcome to the team
of ULTRABASS users,
and thank you very
much for express ng
your conf dence n us
by purchas ng the
ULTRABASS BA410 .
Wr t ng th s foreword for
you g ves me great
pleasure, because t
represents the culm -

hard work del vered by
our eng neer ng team to
ach eve a very amb t ous
goal: to create an
outstand ng bass
cab net, whose str k ng
sound, features and
qual ty workmansh p offer a max mum n flex b l ty and
performance. The task of des gn ng th s new loudspeaker system
certa nly meant a great deal of respons b l ty, wh ch we assumed
by focus ng on you, the d scern ng mus c an. Meet ng your
expectat ons also meant a lot of work and n ght sh fts. But t was
fun, too. Develop ng a product usually br ngs a lot of people
together, and what a great feel ng t s when all who part c pated
n such a project can be proud of what theyve ach eved.
It s our ph losophy to share our enjoyment w th you, because
you are the most mportant member of the BEHRINGER team.
W th your h ghly competent suggest ons for new products youve
made a s gn f cant contr but on to shap ng our company and
mak ng t successful. In return, we guarantee you uncomprom s ng
qual ty as well as excellent techn cal and aud o propert es at an
extremely reasonable pr ce. All of th s w ll enable you to g ve free

constra nts.
We are often asked how we manage to produce such h gh-
qual ty equ pment at such unbel evably low pr ces. The answer s
qu te s mple: ts you, our customers! Many sat sf ed customers
mean large sales volumes enabl ng us to get better purchas ng
terms for components, etc. Isnt t only fa r to pass th s benef t on
to you? Because we know that your success s our success too!
I would l ke to thank all of you who have made the
ULTRABASS BA410 poss ble. You have all made your own
personal contr but ons, from the developers to the many other
employees at th s company, and to you, the BEHRINGER user.
My fr ends, ts been worth the effort!
Thank you very much,
Ul Behr nger

only fatigue but also permanently damage your hearing.
Always make sure to adjust your speaker cabinet to an
appropriate volume level.

2. CONTROL ELEMENTS AND
CONNECTIONS
Fig. 2.1.: Control elements and connections
You can connect a footsw tch (e.g. MIDI FOOT
CONTROLLER FCB1010) to th s 1/4" TS connector to
remotely enable/d sable the tweeter. When the tweeter s
enabled, you get a harder, more d rect sound (Hard Attack).
When the tweeter s d sabled, the ent re sound spectrum s
reproduced only on the bass speakers (Soft Attack).
The loudspeakers of the ULTRABASS ser es feature a
1/4" TS connector n the INPUT/LINK sect on as well as two
profess onal speaker connectors (compat ble w th
NEUTRIK® SPEAKON®). All connectors are w red n parallel,
wh ch means that all three connect ons are dent cal n the r
funct on. Therefore, you can connect a second speaker to
the l nk connector output w thout go ng d rectly to the
ampl f er. Th s way, you can ut l ze short cables and w ll
requ re no add t onal connectors on your amp.
+Connecting several ULTRABASS cabinets via the link
connector reduces the input impedance: if you connect
two identical speakers, the impedance is reduced to
one half of the original value, with three speakers to a
third, and so on. Therefore, always keep in mind the
impedance value of your amplifier to avoid causing
damage by overloading. Ideally, the impedance of your
speakers corresponds to the impedance of your
amplifier. If the speaker has a higher impedance than
the amplifier, this will have no negative consequences
on the amp, but it wont be able to pass its full power to
the speaker. See chapter 4. INSTALLATION for more
information.
+Attention! Never connect two amps to one BA410.
Otherwise, you may destroy both your amps and your
speakers.
Th s table shows the correct polar ty of the connectors:
Plus pole (POS) = T p (TIP) on the stereo jack or 1+ on the
profess onal speaker connector.
M nus pole (NEG) = Sleeve (SLV) on the stereo jack or
1- on the profess onal speaker connector.
+Please observe the illustrations 4.1 and 4.2.

1. INTRODUCTION

an absolutely h gh-value, dependable compan on on the stage,
n the stud o or n your pract ce room.
1.1 Shipment
The BA410 was carefully packed at the assembly plant to assure
secure transport. Should the cond t on of the cardboard box

3. APPLICATIONS
W th a var ety of connectors and the opt on to comb ne your
BA410 w th other BEHRINGER equ pment, there s a large number
of poss ble appl cat ons for your ULTRABASS. The follow ng
llustrat ons show a few of those.
Fig. 3.1: Mono setup with the ULTR B SS BX3000T
Th s llustrat on shows a s mple setup w th the BEHRINGER
ULTRABASS BX3000T bass ampl f er. Th s setup s part cularly
well su ted for pract ce rooms and smaller venues. On larger
stages, you can connect t to a m x ng console v a the DI Out
connector. The equ pment can be qu ckly assembled and
d sassembled, yet t s amaz ngly flex ble.
Fig. 3.2: Expanded mono setup with different connectivity options for loudspeakers
3. APPLICATI NS
Th s setup s recommended for g gs or pract ce w th b gger
bands. Here, two d fferent cab net are comb ned nto a stack.
Speaker connect on s e ther done separately, so that each cab net
s connected to a separate ULTRABASS BX3000T output, or by
connect ng only one cab net d rectly to the ampl f er, whereby the
s gnal s fed nto the second cab net w th a cable (L nk). Also see
.

3. APPLICATI NS
Fig. 3.3: Bi-amping: high and low frequencies are separately resproduced by the bass cabinets
Fig. 3.4: Expaned stereo configuration
When us ng the BASS V-AMP or the BASS V-AMP PRO, you
also have the opt on of us ng bass cab nets n the b -amp ng mode.
W th b -amp ng, h gh and low frequency ranges are spl t between
d fferent bass cab nets, so that the ent re sound spectrum s not
s multaneously reproduced on all speakers. In f g. 3.3, low-end
s gnals are reproduced on the BA115, wh le the m ds and the
h ghs are reproduced on the BA210. Spl tt ng the frequency range
requ res an act ve crossover.
Th s stereo setup s meant for all those who crave a saturated
stereo sound. Together w th the BASS V-AMP or the
BASS V-AMP PRO, stereo effects such as Chorus or Delay truly
come al ve. Real stereo effects requ re two separate cab nets set
up to run n stereo. Our EUROPOWER EP2500 s perfect n the
ampl f er role. Add t onally, w th ts 2 x 1,200 Watts, t has the
necessary headroom to truly rock.
The BASS V-AMP and the BASS V-AMP PRO already feature
one such funct on. Here, the frequenc es are spl t n such a way
that the low-end s gnals are reproduced on the left channel, and
the m ds and the h ghs are reproduced on the r ght channel. How
to make the necessary sett ngs on the crossover (X-OVER
funct on) s expla ned n chapter 6.3 (post amp effects) n the
BASS V-AMP/BASS V-AMP PRO manual.
Th s s the expans on to the setup shown n f g. 3.3. Instead of
power ng two nd v dual cab nets, the amp n f g. 3.4 powers each
of the two stacks compr sed of the BA115 and the BA210 cab nets.
The cab nets are connected to one another us ng a l nk cable.
Here, too, we recommend us ng only profess onal loudspeaker
cables (compat ble w th NEUTRIK® SPEAKON®).

4. INSTALLATION
4.1 Speaker connector
When comb n ng several speakers/cab nets, you should bear
n m nd the result ng overall mpedance. Here are some br ef
explanat ons about d fferent k nds of connect ons:
Serial connection: The nd v dual mpedance values of the
connected speakers are added up. If two 4-Ohm speakers are
connected to one another, there s an overall mpedance value of
8 Ohms.
Parallel connection: If speaker/cab nets w th dent cal
mpedance values are connected n parallel, the overall nom nal
mpedance s reversely proport onal to the number of speakers,
e.g. f you connect two speakers/cab nets, the nom nal mpedance
s halved; f you connect three speakers/cab nets, the nom nal
mpedance s one th rd of the nd v dual speakers mpedance;
w th four speakers, ts one quarter, and so on. For example, th s
way you can turn two 8-Ohm systems nto one 4-Ohm system.
If four or more speakers/cab nets need to be connected, th s
can be done us ng a serial parallel connection. W th four
speakers w th an mpedance value of 4 Ohms each, the result ng
overall mpedance does not change.
+Whenever possible, try to use thick and short speaker
cables to minimize power loss. Dont lay output cables
near input cables.
W r ng opt ons for loudspeakers are add t onally expla ned n
the follow ng llustrat ons and tables.
