Adjwting the Audio Level
Onceyour umt hascompletedthe self-test,the audiolevelcanbeadjustedby pressingand
holdingthe P/V button. Asyou hearthe audiolevelchange,the4.LEDdisplayprovidesa visual
referenceof the audiolevel.Toreversethe drection in which theaudiocycles,bnefly release,
thenhold down the P/V button again.
DRK (Dim/Dark) Button
Pressthe DRKbutton onceto engagethe “dim” modeof the LEDdisplay.Pressthe DRKbutton
againto completelycancelilluminationof the LEDdisplay;the green“P”LEDwll remainin “dim”
modeto confirm your unit ibreceivingpower.PressDRKa third time to returnthe displayro full
bright.
Note: ifyoupress the DRK button and do not receive audible
confiwnation,

alerts.Thisstandardsettingisoften preferredwhen backgroundnoisein a vehicleis loud.
AutomaticMute
Pressthe AUDbutton oncewhen the unit is recewingNO alertsto engage
AutomaticMutemode.Thealertpatternwhen this modeis activatedconsistsof severalX/K or Ka
alertsfollowed by a “clicking”tonewhich will momtorthe durationof the slgnalencounter.Asthe
signalincreasesm mrens~ty,the “clicking”tonewill becomemire rapid.AutomaticMute mode
enablesyou to convenientlymonitor extendedencounterswithout havingto manuallymute or
adjustthevolumesetting.To returnto the audioalertmode,presstheAUD button a secondtime
(while the unit is not alerting).
ManualMute
Regardlessof the AUD modeselected(continuousor Automatic),the audioalerts
canbe completelymutedby pressingtheAUD button during analert.Oncethe alerthaspassed,
the unit will revertto the previousAUD setting(continuousor automaticmute)
CTY(City/Highway) Button
TheCTYbutton is designedto reducethe numberof alertsreceivedfrom unwanteds~wcessuch
asdoor alarms,intrusionalarmsandother deviceswhich shareX bandwth pohceradar.Signals
from non-policeRadarsourcesarefrequentlyencounteredin urbanandsuburbanareas,making
useof this modeidealin theseareas.
PressCTYonceto engagethe city mode.With CT?’engaged,no audiblealertwill be hearduntil
nalstrengthreachesa presetlevel.Visualalerts,however,will be processedthe instantanX
~gnalis detected,keepingyou quietly informed.
