PASSPORT Qi45 Comes Complete
Read This First Please read both sides of these
instructions before starting your
installation.
For the easiest trouble-free
installation,install the Interface
first, and wire it to a 12-volt
switched circuit.
Then before installing the other
components,plug all of them into
the Interface and power up the
unit to confirm proper operation.
To get the best possible
performance,installation of the
Radar/Laser receiver is critical.
Although radar signals will pass
through some materials,including
plastic,laser signals will not. For
this reason the receiver must have
a clear view of the road in order to
work properly.

1We recommend using a
professional to install your new
PASSPORT.Installation of this
system requires experience and
expertise in automotive
electronics.CarAudio specialists
and many car dealers can install
PASSPORT for you.
2Attempting to install this
product without expertise in
automotive electronics installation
can cause personal injury, or
damage to your vehicle.
3If your vehicle is damaged
during installation,its safety
systems may be compromised,
which could cause personal injury
or property damage.
4Improper installation may void
PASSPORT’s warranty.

Display Controller
1Determine the best location for the Display
Controller in the vehicle’s interior.(Consult
customer if necessary.)
2Remove paper backing on the backside of
the display and apply to a clean dry surface.
3Route display cable and plug into jack
marked“Display”on the Interface.
Interface
1Install Interface under the dash using
supplied zip-ties.DO NOT MOUNT IN
ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
2Connect black wire (–) to ground,and red-
striped wire (+) to a switched 12-volt supply.
(If PASSPORT is left in the“on”position,it will
automatically power on and off with the
ignition).Use blue 3M connector (provided)
to tap into existing circuit if needed.
3Receiver and Display Controller plug into
the Interface.Be sure to plug all cables into
the correct jacks.

Front Radar/Laser Receiver
1Determine the best location for the Radar/
Laser Receiver.The best location is typically
under the bumper,or inside the front grill of
the vehicle.For the best performance,install
the Receiver horizontally, with a clear “view”
of the road.
2Using the built-in mounting holes on the
Receiver,or the supplied right-angle
mounting bracket,mark the hole locations.
Drill pilot holes in the vehicle if necessary.
3Mount the Receiver using the supplied
hardware.(If right-angle mounting bracket is
used,secure the Receiver to the right-angle
bracket first,then install bracket with
Receiver to the vehicle.)
Concealed LED Display (Optional)
If a more discreet display is preferred the
included LED can be installed:
1Drill a 1/4" hole, and install the LED clip.
2Snap LED into clip from behind.
3Plug the modular connector into PASSPORT’s
Interface marked“LED.”
Receiver Cable
1Connect the receiver cable to the receiver.
2Route cable through the firewall,and
secure with zip-ties (included).
3Route receiver cable into the vehicle’s
interior.If there is not a suitable opening,drill
a 13/32" or 7/16" hole.
4Pull cable through firewall,and plug
connector into the jack labeled“Antenna”on
the Interface.
TEST
After all components are installed correctly:
1Turn vehicle’s ignition to the“on” position.
2Turn PASSPORT on by pressing the power
button located on the front of the Display
Controller.
3PASSPORT will cycle through a short
startup sequence.
4If any error messages come up,see the
Owner’s Manual for details.
5Pull cable through the firewall and seal the
hole as needed.Use silicone sealant (not
supplied) if necessary.
NOTE:
1. Only drill hole in firewall after thoroughly
investigating location first,ensuring no other
wires,hoses,etc. will be damaged.
2. Keep all cables away from moving parts,
and hot surfaces (radiator, hoses,etc.).
3. Do not splice cable.
NOTE:
