–suitable for any quilting work.
1 Open metal sole
–enables unimpeded view of the needle and the quilting
work.
Attention!
Threads or fabric can hook into the open metal ends.
Use 3
mm stitch length at the maximum to sew. Do not use it
for loose-knit or slack material.
1 Transparent synthetic sole
–Enables good view of the quilting work. The hairline cross
visualizes the center of the sole and the needle and serves
as alignment when shadow quilting. The rounded form of
the sole slides easily over boosted parts and therefore it is
suited optimally when sewing over varyingly thick quilting
layers.

Information
Regulated stitch length with lowered feed dog
The BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR) generates a proper and
even stitch formation with stitches of exactly equal length.
It reacts on the movement of the fabric and as a result of this,
it adapts accurately to the respective speed.
The selected stitch length is retained independently on the
movement of the fabric within the allowed speed.
The BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR) can produce straight
stitches as well as zig-zag stitches.
It suits outstandingly for free-motion quilting, free-motion
embroidery and thread painting on any material.

>Please read the instruction manual of the sewing machine
and this accessory carefully before use!

Application
Select and attach the presser foot sole appropriate
for the material
>Squeeze the push buttons at the presser foot shaft.
>Pull the attached presser foot sole diagonally downwards
out of the guide.
>Push the selected presser foot sole in the guide upwards
until it engages.

Attaching the BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR)
>Attach the slide-on table and the knee lifter (FHS).
>Fix the BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR) at the sewing machi-
ne.
>Insert the plug into the provided BSR connection.
>Lower the feed dog.
>Decrease the presser foot pressure according to the type and
thickness of the fabric.
>Bring needle position in center position (0).
Caution! Injuries caused by needle movement.
Moving the fabric layers with BSR function starts the sewing
machine.
>Do not perform any tasks such as threading, changing the
needle or the like as long as the sensor of the BERNINA stitch
regulators (BSR) lights up in red.

BSR function with straight stitch
>Select straight stitch
>Adjust the stitch length up to 4 mm
Tips: With small items and stippling a stitch length of 1-1.5
mm is recommended.
BSR function with zig-zag stitch
>Select zig-zag stitch (not possible with all BERNINA models).
>Adjust the stitch width
>Adjust the stitch length
Information: The adjusted zig-zag length is not retained
while sewing, but the BSR function simplies the application
via the regulation of the speed.

Procedure
>Select either the BSR function 1 or 2 (BSR function 1 is acti-
vated by default).
>Place the sewing good under the presser foot.
>Bring the lower thread upwards by turning the handwheel
(counter clockwise).
>Start the sewing machine.
>Hold the sewing work tight with both hands and guide
evenly; always starting from the center and moving to the
outside. If the fabric is moved too fast, an acoustic signal
sounds.
Tip: By deactivating the BSR function, standard free-motion
quilting is also possible.

–Eignet sich für alle Quiltarbeiten.

–Erlaubt ungehinderte Sicht auf die Nadel und Quiltarbeit.
Achtung!
Fäden oder Stoff können sich an den offenen Metallenden
einhängen.
Mit maximal 3 mm Stichlänge nähen.
Nicht für grobmaschiges oder loses Material verwenden.
1 Transparente Kunststoffsohle
–Ermöglicht gute Sicht auf die Quiltarbeit. Das Fadenkreuz
visualisiert die Sohlen- und Nadelmitte und dient zur Ori-
entierung beim Schattenquilten. Die gerundete Sohlen-
form gleitet problemlos über erhöhte Stellen und eignet
sich daher bestens zum übernähen unterschiedlich dicker
Quiltlagen.

Regulierte Stichlänge bei versenktem Transporteur
Der BERNINA Stichregulator (BSR) erzeugt ein sauberes,
gleichmässiges Stichbild mit exakt gleich langen Stichen.
Er reagiert auf die Bewegung des Stoffes und passt sich
dadurch, genau der jeweilige Geschwindigkeit an.
Die gewählte Stichlänge wird unabhängig von der Bewe-
gung des Stoffes, innerhalb der erlaubten Geschwindigkeit,
beibehalten.
Der BERNINA Stichregulator (BSR) kann sowohl Geradstich als
auch Zick-Zack-Stiche fertigen.
Er eignet sich hervorragend für Freihandquilten, Freihandsti-
cken und Fadenmalerei auf allen Materialien.

Anwendung
Nähfuss-Sohle passend zum Material wählen und
montieren
>Drucktasten am Nähfuss-Schaft zusammendrücken.
>Montierte Nähfuss-Sohle schräg nach unten aus der Füh-
rung ziehen.
>Gewünschte Nähfuss-Sohle in der Führung nach oben schie-
ben, bis sie einrastet.

>Anschiebetisch und Kniehebel (FHS) montieren.
>BERNINA Stichregulator (BSR) an der Nähmaschine anbrin-
gen.
>Kabelstecker im dafür vorgesehenen BSR-Anschluss einste-
cken.
>Transporteur versenken.
>Nähfussdruck der Stoffart und Stoffdicke entsprechend
reduzieren.
>Nadelposition in mittlere Position (0) bringen.
Vorsicht! Stichverletzungen durch Nadelbewegung.
Verschieben der Stofagen, bei aktiver BSR-Funktion, startet die
Nähmaschine.
>Keine Arbeiten wie Enfädeln, Nadelwechsel und Ähnliches
vornehmen solange der Sensor des BERNINA Stichregulators
(BSR) rot leuchtet.

BSR Funktion mit Geradstich
>Geradstich anwählen
>Stichlänge bis zu 4 mm einstellen
Tipps: Bei kleine Figuren und Stippling wird eine Stichlänge
von 1-1.5 mm empfohlen.
BSR Funktion mit Zickzack-Stich
>Zickzackstich anwählen (Nicht bei allen BERNINA Modellen
möglich).
>Stichbreite einstellen
>Stichlänge einstellen
Info: Die eingestellte Zickzacklänge wird beim Nähen nicht
beibehalten, die BSR Funktion vereinfacht jedoch, durch die
Steuerung der Geschwindigkeit, die Anwendung.

Arbeitsweise
>BSR Funktion 1 oder 2 wählen (BSR Funktion 1 ist standard-
mässig aktiv).
>Nähgut unter dem Nähfuss platzieren.
>Unterfaden durch Drehen des Handrades (gegen den Uhr-
zeigersinn) nach oben holen.
>Nähmaschine starten.
>Die Näharbeit mit beiden Händen straff halten und gleich-
mässig führen; dabei von der Mitte nach aussen quilten.
Wird der Stoff zu schnell bewegt, ertönt ein akustisches
Signal.
Tipp: Durch deaktivieren der BSR Funktion ist auch normales
Freihandquilten möglich.

–Offre une vue dégagée sur le quilt. La croix est placée au
centre de la semelle et détermine la position médiane de
l‘aiguille et sert de guide pour le quilt ombré. La forme
arrondie de la semelle glisse sans problème sur les empla-
cements épais et sur les diverses couches du quilt.

Longueur de point régulière avec la griffe
d‘entraînement escamotée
Le Régulateur de point BERNINA (BSR) permet d‘obtenir des
points de même longueur et parfaitement réguliers.
Il réagit au mouvement du tissu et s‘adapte constamment à la
vitesse de couture.
La longueur de point sélectionnée reste régulière indépen-
damment des mouvements du tissu dans la limite de la vitesse
de couture autorisée.
Le Régulateur de point BERNINA (BSR) peut coudre des points
droits et des points zigzag.
Il offre une précieuse aide pour quilter et broder à mains libres
et peindre avec des ls sur tous les matériaux.

Application
Sélectionner, puis fixer la semelle adaptée au tissu
>Appuyer sur les deux boutons pressoir situés sur la tige du
pied.
>Fixer la semelle de biais hors du guide en poussant vers le
bas.
>Glisser la semelle dans le guide en poussant vers le haut

Fixer le régulateur de point BERNINA (BSR)
>Fixer la table rallonge et le levier de genou (FHS).
>Fixer le Régulateur de point BERNINA (BSR) sur la machine
à coudre.
>Encher la prise du câble dans le raccordement BSR prévu
à cet effet.
>Abaisser la griffe d‘entraînement.
>Réduire la pression du pied-de-biche selon le genre et
l‘épaisseur du tissu.
>Positionner l‘aiguille au milieu (0).
Prudence! Risques de blessures par les mouvements de
l‘aiguille.
Déplacez le tissu, la machine commence à coudre si la fonc-
tion BSR est activée.
–Ne jamais effectuer des travaux comme l‘enlage du l, le
changement de l‘aiguille ou autres si le voyant lumineux
rouge du capteur du Régulateur de point BERNINA (BSR)
est allumé.

Fonction BSR avec le point droit
>Sélectionner le point droit
>Régler la longueur de point sur 4 mm
Astuce: pour les petits motifs et le stippling, il est recomman-
dé de régler la longueur de point sur 1-1.5 mm.
Fonction BSR avec le point zigzag
>Sélectionner le point zigzag (n‘est pas disponible sur tous les
modèles BERNINA).
>Régler la largeur de point.
>Régler la longueur de point.
Info: la longueur du point zigzag n‘est pas maintenue pen-
dant la couture - toutefois la fonction BSR facilite le travail en
permettant de régler la vitesse.
