Congratulations on your new
BHM-Tech hearing system
Many thanks for choosing a quality product
from BHM-Tech. The digital hearing system
for spectacle wearers, pan, is manufactured
in Austria according to stipu-lations set by
the medical device directive 93/42/EWG, as
well as the latest audiological findings and
technical innovations. It bears the CE mark
and meets the latest requirements in quality
and security.
By complying with the points listed in this
User Instruction, pan is sure to be a reliable
partner for many years to come.
The first few days of using a new hearing
system will focus primarily on familiarising
yourself with the device and becoming ac-
customed to the new sound impressions.
The amplification and functions of your new
hearing system have been tailored to your
individual requirements by your hearing aid
acoustician/ doctor.
How long it takes to become accustomed to
the device may vary from person to person.
Success often depends on a willingness to
engage with the new sound impressions.
It is therefore advisable to try wearing your
new hearing system regularly, even if it may
feel a little strange to begin with.
Your hearing aid acoustician/doctor will also
instruct and inform you as regards first-time
use, how to wear it properly and regular
maintenance measures by pan.

User Instruction
Purpose
Hearing systems are developed to improve
hearing. The essential function of a hearing
system is to pick up the sound, amplify it
and reproduce the signal at the ear drum of
the hearing-impaired person. Your hear-
ing system is suitable for compensating for
sensorineural and combined hearing loss, as
well as for combating tinnitus with pan Ti.
Warning note for the hearing aid acoustician/
doctor: This hearing system can generate an
output sound pressure level of 132 dBSPL.
Particular care must be taken when adjust-
ing the device as there is a risk of damage
to the user’s residual hearing.

Before use
Please check that the hearing system functions
and is in proper condition before use. The
hearing system must in no way be used if
there is any suspicion that it does not work
flawlessly or is damaged.
Do not expose the hearing system to any
excessive mechanical burdens. If it should
fall on the floor or is otherwise damaged,
please send it to your hearing aid acousti-
cian/doctor to be checked and repaired.
Never give the hearing system to others and/
or prevent unauthorised use.
Warning! Hearing systems, their components
and batteries can be dangerous, cause
severe injury and even be fatal if swallowed
or handled in an improper manner.
