• NEVER force a charger plug into theproduct.
• DO NOT modify the charger plug of a non‑compatible charger in any way to fit into
the product as the battery may rupture causing serious personalinjury.
• DO NOT charge or use the battery in explosive atmospheres, such as in the
presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Inserting or removing the charger plug
from the product may ignite the dust orfumes.
• Only charge the battery with the provided charger.
• DO NOT splash or immerse in water or otherliquids.
• DO NOT allow water or any liquid to enterproduct.

• DO NOT store or use the product in locations where the temperature may reach or
exceed 104°F (40°C) (such as outside sheds or metal buildings in summer). For best
life, store product in a cool, drylocation.
NOTE: Do not store with switch in on position.
• DO NOT incinerate the product even if it is severely damaged or is completely
worn out. The battery can explode in a fire. Toxic fumes and materials are created when
lithium-ion batteries areburned.
• If battery contents come into contact with the skin, immediately wash area with
mild soap and water. If battery liquid gets into the eye, rinse water over the open eye for
15minutes or until irritation ceases. If medical attention is needed, the battery electrolyte is
composed of a mixture of liquid organic carbonates and lithiumsalts.
• Contents of opened battery cells may cause respiratory irritation. Provide fresh air. If
symptoms persist, seek medicalattention.
• Battery liquid may be flammable if exposed to spark orflame.
• Never attempt to open the product for any reason. If the product case is cracked or
damaged, do not charge. Do not crush, drop or damage the product. Do not use a product
or charger that has received a sharp blow, been dropped, run over or damaged in any way (e.g.,
pierced with a nail, hit with a hammer, stepped on). Damaged products should be returned to the
service center forrecycling.
Storage Recommendations
The best storage place is one that is cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and excess heat
or cold. Store the fully charged product disconnected from thecharger.
Transportation
NOTE: Integral Li‑ion products should not be put in checked baggage on airplanes and must
be properly protected from short circuits if they are in carry‑onbaggage.
Product Disposal
This product uses a lithium‑ion rechargeable and recyclable battery. When the battery
no longer holds a charge, the product should be recycled. The product should not be
incinerated or placed in thetrash.
The product can be taken for disposal to an Authorized Service Center. Some local retailers
are also participating in a national recycling program. Call your local retailer for details. If
you bring the product to an Authorized Service Center, the center will arrange to recycle the
product and its battery. Or, contact your local municipality for proper disposal instructions in
your city/town.

Important Safety Instructions for All Integral Battery Charging
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, and cautionary markings for
the battery, cable and product. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or seriousinjury.
• The provided charging cable is not intended for any uses other than charging
BLACK+DECKER rechargeable products with micro USB ports. Charging other types
of products may cause their batteries to overheat and burst, resulting in personal
injury, property damage, fire, electric shock orelectrocution.
• Use only with the Listed/Certified Information Technology Equipment (e.g. computer).
• DO NOT expose charging cable to water, rain orsnow.
• Pull by the plugs rather than the cord when disconnecting the charging cable. This
will reduce the risk of damage to the plugs andcord.
• Make sure that the cord is located so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over or
otherwise subjected to damage orstress.
• When charging the product outdoors, always provide a drylocation.
• DO NOT use a charging cable with a damaged cord orplugs. Have them
replacedimmediately.
• Foreign materials of a conductive nature, such as, but not limited to, grinding dust,
metal chips, steel wool, aluminum foil or any buildup of metallic particles should be
kept away from the charger plugs and port.
• Always unplug the charging cable from the power supply when there is no product
attached toit.
Charging Procedure (Fig. A, B)
WARNING: For use only with the supplied charging cord.
NOTE: Fully charge device before the first use.
1. Turn the device off by sliding the 3‑position power slider 1 to the center (off position).
2. Insert the charging cord 8 into the charging port 9.
3. Plug the other end of the charging cord into any compatible port (such as on a
computer). The indicator LEDs 5 will flash white, indicating the level of charge.
NOTE: When first turning on the device to warm or cool mode, if the battery is at or below
10% power, the left white LED will blink for 3 seconds, then turn back to solid red or blue
depending on whether the device is set to cool or warm. When battery reaches 0% power,
3white LEDs will flash for 5 seconds, and then the device will power off.

1 white LED blinks for 3 seconds, then turns back to solid
red or blue.

All LEDs off 100% charged
NOTE: While charging, the charger may get warm, this is perfectly normal and safe. It is
safe to leave the product connected to the charger indefinitely. The charger automatically
reduces power consumption when charging is complete.
NOTE: The device can not be used while charging or even plugged in while fully charged
NOTE: If 3‑position power slider is in the warm or cool mode, the device won't automatically
turn on after charger is removed. The slider has to be reset to the center/off position, then
moved to warm or cool mode position for functionality to start again
NOTE: When charging cable is unplugged, all LEDs shut off.
• Adaptor rating: 5V/2A
Electronic Protection System
Lithium Ion products are designed with an Electronic Protection System that will protect the
battery against overloading, overheating or deep discharge. The product will automatically
turn off and the battery will need to berecharged.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS
Inserting into Lanyard (Fig. C, D)
WARNING: Ensure the air intake and air vent are notobstructed.
1. Insert the bottom of the ComfortPak into the lanyard cooling/heating plate opening 11
until it contacts the bottom of the lanyard as shown in Fig. C.
2. Wrap the top of the lanyard over the top of the ComfortPak so it sits fully in the lanyard.
3. Ensure each part sits perfectly in its corresponding place within the lanyard as shown in
Fig. C and D.

OPERATION
On / Off (Fig. E)
When the 3‑position power slider 1 is located in the middle of the slider, the unit is in the
off position.
1. To turn on the heat setting, slide the power slider up toward the increase strength
button 2 . Red LEDs will illuminate.
2. To turn on the cool setting, slide the power slider down toward the decrease strength
button 3 . Blue LEDs will illuminate.
3. To turn the unit off, slide the power slider to the center.
Setting Temperature Levels (Fig. A, F)
1. Turn the unit on to the heat or cool setting as described in the On / Off section.
NOTE: The unit will always default to the lowest setting when turned on.
2. To increase the temperature level, press the increase strength button 2 .
3. To decrease the temperature level, press the decrease strength button 3 .
4. The number of indicator LEDs 5 illuminated indicates the strength of the temperature setting.
1 blue/red LED Low cool/heat
2 blue/red LEDs Moderate cool/heat
3 blue/red LEDs High cool/heat
NOTE: There is a temperature regulator, so certain functions will be disabled depending on
the initial temperature of the device when turning on.
• If device temperature is above high safety limit when starting device, the heat setting
will be disabled. 1 red LED will blink for 10 seconds, then device will power off.
• If device temperature is below low safety limit when starting device, the cool setting will
be disabled. 1 blue LED will blink for 10 seconds, then device will power off.
• If the environmental temperature is approximately 107 °F (42 °C) or higher, the heat
setting will be disabled.
• If the environmental temperature is approximately 60 °F (15 °C) or lower, the cool setting
will be disabled.
Pulsing Mode
To help regulate a consistent feeling of cooling and heating, the temperature of the cooling/
heating plate 4 fluctuates on all cooling modes and high heating mode.

MAINTENANCE
Your BLACK+DECKER product has been designed to operate over a long period of time
with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper
appliance care and regularcleaning.
Cleaning
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning the product. These
chemicals may weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened
only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the product; never
immerse any part of the product into aliquid.
Repairs
The product and charging cable are not serviceable. There are no serviceable parts inside the
product or charging cable.
Putting the Lanyard On (Fig. A, G)
NOTE: When using in cool mode, wear well‑ventilated clothing and ensure the air vent 7
is facing up out of the top of the shirt. If the air vent is covered when in cool mode, the unit
may overheat.
1. Insert the unit into the 360‑degree lanyard 10 as described in the Inserting Into
Lanyardsection.
2. Place the lanyard around your neck so the cooling/heating plate 4 sits directly on the skin.
3. Insert the lanyard connector 12 into the lanyard connector hole 13 .
4. Let go of the lanyard. The ComfortPak will now stay inplace.

WARNING:
Since accessories, other than those offered by BLACK+DECKER , have not been
tested with this product, use of such accessories with this product could be hazardous. To
reduce the risk of injury, only BLACK+DECKER recommended accessories should be used
with thisproduct.

Consignes de sécurité importantes pour tous les produits à

AVERTISSEMENT: Lisez toutes les consignes de sécurité, les instructions et les
symboles d’avertissements de la pile, du chargeur et du produit. Ne pas suivre
les avertissements et les instructions peut entraîner un choc électrique, un
incendie et/ou des blessures graves.
• NE JAMAIS forcer une fiche de chargeur dans le produit.
• NE PAS modifier la fiche d’un chargeur non compatible de quelque façon
pour l’insérer dans le produit car la pile peut exploser en causant une blessure
corporellegrave.
• NE PAS charger ou utiliser la pile en atmosphères explosibles comme la présence de
liquides inflammables, de gaz ou de poussière. Insérer ou retirer la fiche du chargeur du
produit peut enflammer la poussière ou les vapeurs.
• Chargez seulement la pile avec le chargeur fourni.
• NE PAS éclabousser ou immerger dans l’eau ou tout autre liquide.
• NE PAS laisser d’eau ou un liquide pénétrer dans le produit.
• NE PAS entreposer ou utiliser le produit dans un lieu où la température peut
atteindre ou dépasser 40°C (104°F) (comme les remises extérieures ou les édifices
en métal durant l’été). Pour une meilleure durée de service, entreposez le produit dans un
endroit frais et sec.
REMARQUE: Ne pas entreposer avec la gâchette en position Marche.
• NE PAS incinérer le produit même s’il est gravement endommagé ou entièrement
usé. La pile peut exploser et causer un incendie. Des vapeurs et des matières toxiques sont
produites lorsque des piles au lithium-ion sont brûlées.
• Si le liquide des piles entre en contact avec la peau, lavez immédiatement avec de
l'eau et du savon doux. Si le liquide vient en contact avec les yeux, rincez à l’eau courante
durant 15minutes, ou jusqu’à ce que l’irritation cesse, en gardant les yeux ouverts. Si des soins
médicaux sont nécessaires, sachez que l’électrolyte de la pile est composé d’un mélange de
carbonates organiques liquides et de sels de lithium.
• Le contenu des piles peut causer une irritation respiratoire. Faites circuler de l’air frais.
Si les symptômes persistent, consultez un médecin.
• Le liquide des piles peut être inflammable s’il est exposé aux étincelles ou aux
flammes.
• Ne jamais tenter d’ouvrir le produit pour quelque raison que ce soit. Si le boîtier
du produit est fendu ou endommagé, ne pas le charger. Ne pas écraser, échapper ou
endommager le produit. Ne utiliser un produit ou un chargeur qui a subi un impact, a été
échappé, écrasé ou endommagé d’une façon ou d’une autre (par ex. perforé par un clou,

frappé par un marteau, sur lequel on a marché). Les produits endommagés doivent être
retournés au centre de service pour recyclage.
Recommandations d’entreposage
Le meilleur lieu pour l’entreposage est un endroit frais et sec loin de la lumière directe
du soleil et de la chaleur ou du froid excessif. Entreposez le produit entièrement chargé
déconnecté du chargeur.
Transport
REMARQUE: Les produits à Li‑Ion intégré ne doivent pas être placés dans des bagages
enregistrés sur les avions et doivent être bien protégés contre les courts‑circuits s’ils sont
dans des bagages à main.
Élimination du produit
Ce produit utilise une pile rechargeable et recyclable au lithium‑ion. Lorsque la pile ne peut
plus tenir la charge, le produit doit être recyclé. Le produit ne doit pas être incinéré ou mis à
la poubelle.
Le produit peut être éliminé dans un centre de services autorisé. Certains détaillants locaux
participent également au programme de recyclage national. Appelez votre détaillant local
pour de plus amples renseignements. Si vous apportez le produit dans un centre de services
autorisé, ce dernier veillera à recycler l’outil et sa pile. Ou contactez votre municipalité pour
des instructions appropriées relatives à l’élimination dans votre ville/village.

• Le câble USB fourni n'est pas conçu une quelconque utilisation autre que la charge
des outils rechargeables BLACK+DECKER avec ports USB. Charger d’autres types
d’outils peut causer la surchauffe et l’éclatement de leurs piles, entraînant une blessure
corporelle, des dommages matériels, un choc électrique ou uneélectrocution.
• Utilisez seulement avec l’équipement (ordinateur) de technologie de l'information
énuméré/certifié.
• NE PAS exposer le câble USB à l’eau, la pluie ou laneige.
• Tirez les fiches au lieu du cordon lorsque vous débranchez câble USB. Cela réduira le
risque d’endommager les fiches et lecordon.

• Assurez‑vous de ne pas placer le cordon là où il pourrait faire trébucher les
passants ou être endommagé de quelque façon que cesoit.
• Lors du chargement de l’outil à l’extérieur, prévoyez toujours un endroitsec.
• NE PASutiliser le câble USB avec un cordon ou des fiches endommagés. Faites-les
remplacerimmédiatement.
• Les matières étrangères conductrices telles que, mais sans s'y limiter, les poussières
de meulage, les copeaux métalliques, la laine d'acier, le papier d'aluminium ou toute
accumulation de particules métalliques doivent garder à l’écart des fiches et des
portsUSB .
• Débranchez toujours le câble USB de l'alimentation si aucun outil n’y estfixé.
Procédure de recharge (Fig. A, B)
AVERTISSEMENT: Pour utilisation avec le cordon de charge fourni seulement.
REMARQUE: Chargez complètement l’appareil avant la première utilisation.
1. Éteignez l’appareil en poussant la glissière d’alimentation 1 au centre (position d’arrêt).
2. Insérez le cordon de charge 8 dans le port de charge 9 .
3. Branchez l’autre extrémité du cordon de charge dans un port compatible quelconque
(sur un ordinateur par exemple). Les témoins à LED 5 clignotent en blanc, indiquant le
niveau de charge.
REMARQUE: En allument l’appareil pour la première fois en mode chaud ou froid, si la
puissance de la pile est égale ou inférieure à 10%, le témoin à LED restant clignote pendant
3 secondes puis passe au rouge ou bleu fixe, selon que l’appareil est réglé sur froid ou
chaud. Lorsque la pile atteint 0% de puissance, 3 témoins à LED blancs clignotent pendant
5secondes, puis l’appareil s'éteint.
