uFit the oor head (6) to the opening on the dust chamber
(4) at the front of the Dustbuster® unit via the oor head
connector (5) as shown in gure C.
Charging the battery (Fig. D, E)
uPlace the charger (7) into the charging port (7a) at the rear
of the unit and plug into the electrical outlet.
uSwitch the electrical outlet on.
Use
uBefore rst use, the battery must be charged for at least
10 hours.
Switching on and off (Fig. F)
uTo switch the appliance on, push the on/off switch (2) to
the forward position.
uTo switch the appliance off, return the on/off switch (2) to
the back position.
Warning! Never pick up wet applications with these units.
Optimising the suction force
In order to keep the suction force optimised, the lters must be
cleared regularly during use.
Emptying and cleaning the product.
Removing the dust bowl and lters (Fig. G, H, I, J).
uPress the dust chamber release button (3)and remove the
dust chamber (4) from the motor unit as shown in gure G.
uWhile holding the dust chamber (4) over a suitable
receptacle, pull out the lter (10).
uShake the dust chamber (4) over a suitable receptacle to
empty the contents as shown in gure I.
uTo replace the dust bowl, push it back onto the motor unit
until it locks rmly into position.
Warning! Never use the appliance without the lters.
Optimum dust collection will only be achieved with clean
lters.
uThe dust bowls and lters can be washed in warm soapy
water.
uMake sure that the lters and the dust bowl are dry before
re-tting.
Replacing the lters
The lters should be replaced every 6 to 9 months and
whenever worn or damaged.
Replacement lters are available from your BLACK+DECKER
dealer.
Storage (Fig. K)
Your BLACK+DECKER NVSA315J can be hung from a wall
tting (not supplied) by using the hole in the handle (11) as
shown in gure K.
Maintenance
Your BLACK+DECKER corded/cordless appliance/tool has
been designed to operate over a long period of time with a
minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation
depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance on corded/
cordless power tools:
uSwitch off and unplug the appliance/tool.
uOr switch off and remove the battery from the appliance/
tool if the appliance/tool has a separate battery pack.
uOr run the battery down completely if it is integral and then
switch off.
uUnplug the charger before cleaning it. Your charger does
not require any maintenance apart from regular cleaning.
uRegularly clean the ventilation slots in your appliance/tool/
charger using a soft brush or dry cloth.
uRegularly clean the motor housing using a damp cloth. Do
not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.
Protecting the environment
ZSeparate collection. Products and batteries
marked with this symbol must not be disposed of
with normal household waste.
Should you nd one day that your Black & Decker product
needs replacement, or if it is of no further use to you, do not
dispose of it with household waste. Make this product
available for separate collection.
zSeparate collection of used products and packag-
ing allows materials to be recycled and used again.
Re-use of recycled materials helps prevent enviro
mental pollution and reduces the demand for raw
materials.
Local regulations may provide for separate collection of elec-
trical products from the household, at municipal waste sites or
by the retailer when you purchase a new product.
Black & Decker provides a facility for the collection and
recycling of Black & Decker products once they have reached
the end of their working life. To take advantage of this service
please return your product to any authorised repair agent who
will collect them on our behalf.
